  • Fish.Big fan of the man since the 81.His

  • Peter Gabriel wasn't with Genesis in the eighties. This doesn't sound much like PG solo or 80's Genesis but it's imo just as good as either for the most part.

  • @MrMikej413 Yes it does sound like Pop 80's Genesis with Gabriel's like voice.

And most of P.G"s. 80 stuff is way better than this.

  • Lol. Sounds like the '80 Genesis with Peter Gabriel.

  • Love this song.. And of course, I love Tony. He's so talented.. (I'm a huge Duran Duran fan too, by the way, khhm.) :)

  • Is that Kylie Minogue? Sure looks like it.

  • I wonder why Genesis did not get Fish to do lead vocals for their 1997 record, it would have been much more succesful

  • @TheViralSBK Yes, great voice Fish!

  • like the song but this video too much prancing around for a cool dude like Fish

  • TONY BANKS/Genesis & FISH/Marillion, two of the GREATEST of all time, poppy though but I like it!!

  • Great stuff, should have been a smash single... Alas it didn't stand a chance against the likes of the mulleted duran duran

  • Fish's voice takes me back to Phil Collins more than to P.Gabriel, at least in this video.

  • suprised it was not a hit

  • Happy Birthday Mate... and thanks for everything you have given me over the years.

    love ya.!

    xxxx

  • great singing by fish, the music is a little boring

  • this is like having peter gabriel back in genesis in their pop era...orgasm :D

  • Okay,,,hang on...this is a different version of the video. I like this one better.

  • One of my favourits actually!

  • Tony's contribution in Genesis has always been underestimated. He is the backbone of the band. I love this song. It was one of the favourites of my cousin who passed away two years ago at the age of 37 because of a brain tumour. He was

a HUGE Genesis fan and Tony was his favourite artist within the group.

  • Wow... I had not heard this in YEARS!!!! Say as in 1988 or so??? I have the cassette tape of Quicksilver and this song was one of the best on that tape! Love it! Thanks for posting!!!!!!!! :)

  • Is that Kylie Minogue?

  • I never get bored of this song, it cheers me up when I'm down because its so silly

  • My ears are bleeding

  • @KevMorris41 I know, it's that awesome!

  • cool

  • I always wished Fish would have replaced Collins when he left..seemed perfect.

  • @jaguar7676 I as well felt he would have been a great fit for Genesis.

  • @Dannymusic1999

I agree he should have joined Genesis - would have been great to see

  • QUICKSILVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • cool,

  • CANCIÓN MUY EN LA LÍNEA DE FISH

  • I wish Fish worked with Tony on every one of Tony's albums... I would love that! I still love all of his albums though lol

  • I think that's tony's wife in the wedding dress.

I would love to hear some b sides which, did

not make the 1995 strictly inc. album.

  • no, that is not his wife. also there is a b-side from around this time up on youtube now, it's called 'back to you'.

  • wow, thank god for youtube!

  • I quite like this. What album is it from?

  • it's from the soundtrack of the film Quicksilver!

  • so when you've worked out the problems and you've worked out the angles..

  • I've always wondered if Fish was ever considered as a fill in after Peter Gabriel's departure.

  • Fish was 17 years old when Peter left Genesis. So, now you don't need to wonder anymore :-)

  • They should have shown less of Fish & Tony & the sheep and more of the girl! :)

  • This song is hit & miss for me, Great music & verses.

    Stinky Chorus though.

  • Kudos to the director for your homage to Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid!

It ties nicely with the Quicksilver film staring Kevin Baccon as a bike messenger.

Not to forget all the films mentioned in the song lyrics like Midnight Cowboy to Easy Rider to Lone Ranger.

  • Tony is the king of keyboards... I love him..

And Fish, I really like his voice, so similar to Peter Gabriel's one..

  • tony banks is a talented musician that isnt takin seriously in his solo career. as he is only reconisied in genesis, well done tony keep on writting and playing your music will always have a place in my heart

  • he is the real soul of Genesis ... the atmosphere , the sound... he has also a place in my heart...♥

  • he is in hearts of all Genesis fans , without him not Genesis would be possible! and I agree . he deserved a great place in the world as solo career , maybe he gave all his talent to the band first forgetting himself and that s wasnt well done ...

  • ALL US LOVE TONY ... the king of kings!

  • king of kings lord of lords.... many too many loves him... me too and a friend of mine whos heart was enterely gave to him......

  • A shortcut to nowhere this turned out to be. Tony Banks' efforts would be better spent elsewhere. I like the song purely for the historical value as part of the Genesis story, (same for the rest of the Quicksilver soundtrack) but all the same, Tony should not be proud of it.

  • as much as i admire banks and fish. this is crap.

  • Given the (younger) age of Fish in this video, and the 80s power-rock sound, I would place this video right at the beginning of Fish's solo career - right after he left Marillion in the late 80s. (And the deranged cop says to Harry Calahan [in Magnum Force]: "Am I right?)...

  • It is actually from 1986, when Fish was still very much in Marillion. Right between Misplaced Childhood and Clutching at Straws. They made this 12 inch single with Fish in a Genesis T-shirt and Tony Banks in a Marillion T-shirt!

  • great!

    thanks for posting!

  • Dos maestros del Progresivo en una sorprendente muestra!!!, GRANDE FISH Y BANKS!!!!

  • bloody great song :)

  • Of all the videos that I've "favourited" I come back to this one the most. It gets better every time I watch it and I love it to bits. I'm off to eBay to buy the 12". Remember those folks?

  • Oh Fish, my scottish hero, you surprised me with this video. Thanks for turning back the clock for a little while and thanks for the person who posted this video.

    I love it!

  • was this when fish was with marillion or had he gone solo by this point?

    HE RULES

    torch6661

  • I haven't heard this in over 20 years and have never seen the video before. Thanks for uploading this.

  • TONY BANKS ROCKS!!

  • I want Fish back on my platter, it's healthier for my heart.

  • Fish and Tony. Thats a hell of a mix you get there!

  • Grande Fish! Forza Trinacria caro siciliano! Un abbraccio a tutti voi in Argentina!!! Vamos fratelli! :-)

  • Fish is such a great singer and performer ut i think that this so is far too "popy" and as in fact a total wreck :-0 Fish had great songs but this is far from his talent...i love the clip funny to watch as log as the vol. low!! that for sharing anyway :-)

  • get on the bike, love and keep pedalling.

    Fish is a bleedin eejit

  • Fish is the man and we all know it. This is pretty catchy, and captures Fish's unique vocal talent pretty well. Just needs a Rothery riff or two in it!

  • what is this?

  • utter shite sounds like GO WEST lyrisc melody everything about this is shite ! ha ha ha

  • This song is on the genesis documentry A genesis history

  • never heard this one before,, quite good .,., i kind of like it..

different bit very Banks stylish... nice job guys.. keep it up...

  • Ok Nigletgook, Genesis sucks nowadays and this songs isn't quite good, but you should listen to the old stuff Genesis made with Peter Gabriel. Foxtrot, Nursery Crime, Selling England by the Pound and A lamb lies down on Broadway are brilliant masterpieces. Then you will understand why they we're such a big influence on Marillion.

  • Fish being catchy with tony Banks?Wow! What´s that all about?Nice upfront poppy stuff;Great!

  • Wow, I hadn't even heard of this. Been a big Fish fan for about 25 years. Thanks for posting this and please never take it down! :)

  • I've read about this collaberation. Wasn't it for a film or something?

You can tell Fish wrote (or had a say in) the lyrics. Anyone spot the "skyline drifter" bit? :)

  • You're right. It was for an early film starring Kevin Baccon called QUICKSILVER. Baccon played a bicycle messenger, set in San Francisco.

  • Raw Wilson.....why? Fish should have taken over from Collins all those years ago for a new glorious age of Genesis.

This song is the best Genesis song that never was!

Went to see Fish last week, the big man is still great!

  • I think that the video was meant to be 'aged' with Shades of "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid"

    What do you think?

Im a big Fish fan - this is a real find for me.

    Rock on

    Zx

  • Yeah, the "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" influence or rather pastiche is obvious!

  • "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" never looked so good.

Fish was and always will be 'The Man'

  • Solos, Genesis...Tony has such a distinctive sound that can be pinned anywhere.

  • I just listened to it for the first time. The song is all right but the video is not that good. Perhaps, it was meant to be that way.

  • Yes I think that the video was 'aged' Im thinking that there was meant to be shades of 'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid'

    What do you think?

Im a big Fish fan... first time ive seen this - this is a rare find for me.

    Rock on

    Zx

  • Still fantastic even after 20 years or so.....

  • Fish is always great, even is the song isn't. I prefer their cooperation on "Another Murder Of A Day" from the Tony Banks-album "Still". Highly recommended!!

  • Do ya have vid of that? If you do, please upload it

  • rubbish

  • Wow I remember this video on the Italian MTV back when it first came out....I wonder what would've happened, had the two of them joined Collins, Rutherford and Hackett to record a CD together!

  • Tony I love you (F)

  • I told em this existed , they did'nt beleve me, so many thanks for proving them wrong....

  • TONY BANKS RULES!!!!!

  • Fish u r great

  • Super! Quicksilver. Love Fish!!!
