  • Just to know what you are protecting when you stand up for biblical marriage, be sure to watch and listen carefully to the YouTube video:

"Betty Bowers Explains Traditional Marriage to Everyone Else" by MrsBettyBowers

You will see why she is a marriage expert and is known by many as America's Best Christian.

  • Why should 7 million people vote in my rights? lol

  • Can a woman replace a man as a father? Or a man can be a mother? No, or course not! Every child deserves and needs BOTH. Two mothers or two fathers don't equate. SSM advocates have such a narrow view on what marriage implies that they NEVER address the full consequences of SSM.

  • @tenfishsticks So single parent families are bad also?

  • @s4mula If avoidable, YES! There are cases of abuse, infidelity, or death that make the ideal unrealizable, but anyone who actively pursues a life for their child alone is not a responsible parent. The needs of a child are still the same. With SPF, you see increased rates of poverty, lower education, abuse, neglect, and delinquency. No one thought that would be the case 20 years ago with no-fault divorce. The same arguments were made: how does MY divorce effect YOUR marriage?

  • Angry gay protestors? HAHAHA!

You honestly think that people who use RAINBOWS as their symbol are gonna destroy your family? Think again!

  • the people that are agents same sex unions preached the same bullshit during the 60's civil rights movement, if you don't change don't adapt to the time then guess what you DIE OFF!!this issue need to be discussed not brushed off. I live in CA i know the issue prop 8 is the worse law ever to be past in AMERICA!!!!

  • more brainwashed religious nuts trying to make their hare-brained ideas into laws. THIS is the 21st century, you buffoons!

  • Republicans are the scum of the earth.

  • Who should decide? Well apparently John McCain felt that the Senate wasn't fit to decide on a repel of DADT and put a filibuster on it. I wonder what's he's afraid of... Anyways, the US military is shooting itself in the foot with that decision, big time, by cutting themselves off from the valuable knowledge of gay and lesbian soldiers.

And NOM: for the record, YOU are imposing YOUR values on the rest of America. But I have hope: truth wins out. Let's do all we can to repel NOM's lies, too.

  • Tim Gill and his friends have bought politicians in Minnesota. It is time for the people to take back their state. Let be free from their sex drive.

  • No one should be voting on anyone's civil rights EVER!

NOM is a horrible organization hurting real people and real families in the name of Christianity.

  • The heterophobes want to redefine marriage and more....much more. They hate us

  • @newjerseyequality heterophobia is not real

  • OMG! We're under ATTACK! Get in the 16,000 lb. vehicles!!! They can't support same-sex marriage, that's why we need these 16,000 lb. vehicles!

  • So... when the voters decide to allow gay marriage, which is, in fact, the trend right now, what will you say? The democratic point of this video is self-defeating. Voters ARE the ones choosing to "destroy" marriage.

  • marriage in a court has nothing to do with marriage in a church

  • Interracial marriage was imposed against the popular opinion. Was that wrong? No. Equal rights aren't up for popular vote.

  • @SnaCake SSM, unlike interracial, can never produce children, can never raise children with a mother and a father, can never model gender roles to their children. The rights of children are at stake. Civil unions are for civil rights. Families are for children.

  • @tenfishsticks This video says "Regardless of how you feel about the definition of marriage, shouldn't it be left up to voters?". I responded that "Interracial marriage wasn't left up to voters, and it was for the better". Nothing you mention has any bearing on this line of reasoning. Do you want to actually respond to this argument?

Please read the words I typed, think like a grownup for a minute, and then see if you can respond in a way that is at all relevant to the conversation.

  • @SnaCake I'm sorry, I should have been more clear. Lifting the ban on interracial marriage was not a redefinition of marriage. An interracial marriage, compared to a uni-racial marriage of the time, could produce and rear children as well, given the same environment.

This cannot be true of SSM, for the reasons I stated above. This makes it a child-welfare issue as well as a LGBT issue. Being the foundation of our future society, the rights of children should be protected by the people.

  • Citizens should not have the right to vote on basic civil issues. We didn't vote for giving women the right to vote, blacks, to abolish slavery nor did we vote so blacks and whites could attend the same schools, eat in the same restaurants, etc.. WE SHOULDNT HAVE VOTED FOR THEM BECAUSE THEY SHOULD BE MANDATED UPON US. Basic civil liberties are not voted, they are given.

  • @Nick153452 Quite the contrary. We vote for those we will believe will support our values and beliefs and will uphold the constitution (ei.our "civil liberties"). We are given a gurantee of life liberty and the pursuit of happiness NOT same gender marriage. The proposition of marriage is not a civil liberty, it is an institution of the the church (a nongovernmental body) recognized by our federal government. Furthermore, where does MANDATE fall into the "civil liberties" column?

  • @1dream2sing Ohh I agree. You should vote to people who support your values, but you don't vote for civil liberties. Do you think that it would be okay that lets say all of a sudden tomorrow we decide that black people shouldn't be able to vote that we just run a vote on it, this law passes, and then blacks are no longer allowed to vote? I don't think so, we shouldn't have a say as to what others' civil liberties are, but you should vote for people who agree with you. No disagreement there.

  • @1dream2sing Ok, and also, where you're wrong, it is not just an "institution of the church". It is also a power that is mandated for make insurance and adoption and many other things. It's people who think like you who were against blacks during their equality movement. Now there is absolutely nothing wrong with black people voting, but there was 50 years ago.... Don't you see the pattern?

  • @Nick153452 SSM affects children, and they have rights too. Since when do your rights trump those of the innocent?

  • @tenfishsticks Lol.. Umm.. I think research has showed multiple times that it actually doesn't....... You have just been lied to by your clergymen and conservative morons..... Sorry, but it's the truth. Listen to some of the kids who grew up with same sex parents, they never come out and say anything negative........ Plus, it's not imposing on their rights to get married; it's not like anybodoy is forcing them to marry anybody they don't want to... And if they just don't like it, than bOO WHO

  • @Nick153452 What research? 300 million years of human child-rearing, and your citing the outliers??? Who's the mother to the child of a gay couple, or the father in the lesbian couple? These children love their parents, yes, and their feelings are valid and genuine. That shouldn't trump the fact that there are a LOT of issues (modeling normal gender roles, for instance) that we the public don't see.

Do we ignore the issues that SSM brings b/c the advocates don't discuss them publicly?

  • @tenfishsticks Lol, to answer your last question, absolutely. There has never been a study conducted that has proved any of the things that you're claiming. And that means never in the 300 million years that you states. Children aren't as dumb as you're making them out to be.

And following your logic, we must not allow single mothers to raise children, because there is no man in her life. Or vise versa, we cannot allow single fathers to raise children, because there is no mother.

  • @tenfishsticks I heavily suggest that before you start talking about subjects, you learn a little about them.... Your ignorant bigotry is nothing less than pathetic....

  • The freedom to oppress others is not a freedom that needs protecting. Quit portraying yourselves as the victims. if you don't like gays, then don't have sex with them.

  • @ryclea There is no oppression occurring. It is not illegal for gay people to be in love, to kiss, to hold hands, or to tell all the world they are gay. That would be oppression. Being married is not a right. It is a privelege as issues by a church body. Nowhere in the constitution does it say that it is your God given right to be married no matter who you are.

  • @1dream2sing Your church body does not have to recognize gay marriage just as Catholic churches do not have to marry divorced persons or recognize second marriages. Passing a law to specifically prohibit certain people from marrying is absolutely oppression. Your church does not get to control our country.

  • People voting for other people's rights??? where's the equality?

  • People voting for other people's rights??? where's the equality?

  • People who support anti-gay marriage legislation are nothing more than filthy pieces of trash. Absoluitely no doubt who I'm voting for now, it's Mark Dayton. A vote for Tom Emmer is a vote for hatred and bigots everywhere.

  • Wow, 7 people are bigots. Thankfully yours is a dying breed.

  • This is a hot bed of bull. Emmer will be the downfall of the state of Minnesota. Say NO to Emmer and YES to Dayton.

  • Yep... Tom Emmer can eat shit. And this video is ludicrous. I hate conservatives.

  • "Impose same sex marriage"? The democrats are gonna make me marry a dude? God, Republicans are stupid.

  • gotta love emmers!!!!!!! btw those angry protesters are voters you morons!!!!!!!

  • ...This totally secured my vote for either Horner or the DFL... Way to backfire political advertisements!

  • What about the 'freedom' we hear so much about? This is about basic and fundamental human rights. GOD forbid that 2 people who love each other should be allowed to marry.

  • Love is love. It is time to not be last on this civil rights issue. So in short if the right was smart they would drop this issue. Because it just makes them look like homophobic dumb asses.

  • FUCK TOM EMMER. MR. DRUNK DRIVING HOMOPHOBIC ASS HOLE! GO TO HELL!

  • @MrMaggot4ever You might have a stronger case were you able to articulate without the use of profanity. As for me if I was looking to lean left on this issue, you would have pushed me right back in the exact opposite direction.

  • @1dream2sing Me too bud, till I saw this ad.

  • I Hope he dies in a fire.

  • Us "imposing" gay marriage???? How about NOM stops "imposing" its bigotry and hatred to us. Then we can talk.

  • People should be able to love and marry who they want. It should not be decided by our joke of a government. Also I'm gay and I live in Minnesota.

  • Get out of MN! We don't need your ignorance here! Since this is a sponsored video I will click on it everytime I see it just so that you have to pay for it.

  • The Majority should NEVER vote on the rights of the Minority.

Think about it like this. If it were put to popular vote (at the time) slavery may have been something the majority would have voted to keep. That doesn't make it right, it doesn't make it a good thing for the minority, but it is what the majority wants. The majority generally does not treat the minority well. It is a reflection upon who we are as a society.

  • Tom Emmer is pure evil.

  • Dayton is BETTER. I am a straight father and husband. I think that GOVERNMENT should stay out of the bedroom. And what the hell is a "backroom politician?"

Isn't it like a "backseat politician?" (the back seat of a squad car, after your second DWI!)

Ask yourself the following question before you stand in someone's BEDROOM.

"When is LOVE ever wrong?" (What would Jesus say?)

Stay out of it you silly bigotted Neo-Cons.

  • Do I get to vote on "traditional marriage"?

  • Great, another pack of bigots trying to afflict the afflicted and comfort the comfortable.

Gay marriage will have zero impact on straight marriage, and that's the truth.

  • Tom Emmer got a DUI, and he wants to lower the penalties for drunk drivers. I don't think the democrats are any better though.

  • This makes me sad; it's full of homophobia and hate.

  • Stupid insensitive, uneducated fucks! The definition of marriage has changed over the years, it wasn't always what it is now. Since it's changed before, it can change now without causing any harm to anyone. If you don't like gay marriage fine, you don't have to, but you cannot deny someone a right simply b/c you don't like their lifestyle. Stop the hate!!!!

  • NOM IS A BIG FAT BIGOTED FAIL

  • God created Adam and Eve. Not Adam and steve. Nuff said.

  • If you don't like gay marriage, don't have one.

  • What a hideous waste of money

  • Again, an add full of hate, lies and homophobia. But then again, NOM has accustomed us with no less than that kind of hateful propaganda over the years. I sincerely hope that Americans are intelligent enough to see through this hateful message.

Yay to Mark Dayton and Tom Horner!!! And booh to Tom Emmer.

Vote on marriage? Since when are civil rights subjected to popular vote? Stop the hate!

I stand for family values. Gays and lesbians too should have the right to raise a child.

  • @Skulander1 Unfortunately, the 31 states who have voted against gay marriage are not intelligent enough /:

  • @Skulander1 Mark Dayton? The guy who was named one of the 5 worst senators? It's sad how democrats and republicans think that they're really that different from each other.

  • @MrJimboMan - - -Named by the Neo-Cons. Not by any reputable poll.

and, by the way.....he WAS a U.S. Senator. Hmmmm, wonder how THAT

    happened?

  • @MrJimboMan I'm not saying he's great. Just saying that in terms of lies, NOM wins this contest by a wide margin.

  • Damn Republicans supporting direct democracy when it suits their interests...

We are a republic, you jackasses; Not a democracy.
