You will simply anger the other European countries. Spain, Belgium, France and others will not risk backing Scottish independence because it will encourage separatism in their own countries.

Totally counterproductive! The people of Scotland are free to choose, they choose being part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Thats not going to change in 2010 :)

I'm Catalonian and i think our nations must be united because it's the same fight. The rules of UEro aren't written, a change in a State like Spain or UK can produce a response in other nation.

Now i dont know the situation with Catalonia but the majority of Scottish people support Scotland being part of the United Kingdom.

But in uniting with other prospective countries, ideas and strategies on what is effective can be shared and exchanged which will improve the likelihood of these states being formed. States that are closer to independence can offer ideas to others which are not so close

To not realise the political set-up and the actualy agenda's of the E.U is a big mistake.

In actual fact, as a Scottish Nationalist, I have come to the strong oppinion that id rather Scotland stay as a part of Britain than become a region in the E.U

But how are we being autonomous by having most of our laws, legislation and decisions made in Brussels?

Also - all the westminster are parties are pro-european, because none are demanding a referrendum. So by staying in Britain we go into europe as a european region. By voting SNP we go into europe as a europion region.

There is an enormous difference. We would have a seat in the Council of Ministers and would be treated as an equal memberstate rather than a region of Britain. Is Ireland, France and Germany independent? According to your argument they are not which is frankly ridiculous. We need to be independent first and we can then decide our future relationbship with Europe not have it decided for us by others.
