I have a X12 and use it with the DSS, but there're only a light in Digital in and PLIIX turned on.

How can the light in Dolby Digital turned on? I play MW3 but the light in DD doesn't turn on.

@TheManofwar45 You probably don't have the XBOX set up for Dolby 5.1 output. Please follow the setup instructions in the DSS manual for details.

How about PC? My laptop doesn't have a digital optical output, so I purchase Audio Advantage Mircro II. I plugged it on my laptop and the light in DD doesn't turn on either. It's just the Digital In and PLIIX turn on.

I'm sure I read the instruction carefully. Is there any requirement of laptop system that I must have to enjoy Dolby Digital?

@TheManofwar45 PC/laptops do not put out Dolby Digital signals unless you're playing a DVD. Games that use 5.1 don't need Dolby on a PC, so you won't get the DD light on the DSS when using it on a PC. The only way around this is to use a sound card that supports Dolby Digital Live. The Micro II won't support this, so you will only hear stereo on the DSS when used with a Micro II.

@LegendVaslor 7.1 depends on the game. Most games only support 5.1. The ones that support 7.1 encode the extra channels in the rear speakers. Our headsets will decode these extra channels if they exist.

@DJPixcell Multiple speakers is NOT the best way to do surround sound. You only have two ears. You're technically ALWAYS "hearing stereo." Dolby Headphone Technology decodes sound cues the same way your brain does. This is real surround sound.

@g2moto If your PC doesn't have an optical output, then you'll need the Micro II. Keep in mind that if your PC does not have Dolby Digital Live it will not send Dolby encoded game sound on the optical output, so you won't hear surround sound. DVDs will work fine, but normal games will only play in stereo on the optical output unless you have Dolby Digital Live. Google "Dolby Digital Live" for more information on this.

@baker041909 The DSS is discontinued so it's going to be hard to find. The DSS2 has more features, but they both sound pretty much the same. They both work fine with the X31. You'll hear sounds all around you instead of just on the left and right sides, so it improves the game tremendously.

A; I'm playing GTA 4 on a PC, and the audio settings in surround for 5.1 are "Surround Side" and "Surround Rear". Which one will work best?

B; On Battlefield 3, the game is not recognizing 5 speakers from SPDIF outputs. Do you guys know the fix for this or is this a bug from Dice? I've checked all in game settings and everything should be leading strait to 5.1 Surround Sound.

You should check your talkback cables with a new controller. We've found that the majority of people who have problems with the cable actually have a worn jack on the controller and the cable is fine.
