  • Someone better keep these games alive! Microsoft bought Rare?! Screw Microsoft, we want DKC4 not Kinect Sports 2!

  • When i hear this song, i imagine those ghosts throwing barrels yelling like :

    RAW RAW RAW!

    :D

  • @victor020203 I KNOW. with that weird raspy laugh they did.

    fuck, i love this game.

    scratch that, this entire series.

    dave wise is a legend.

  • Gorgeous perfection...I was playing a little while ago and just rushed through the levels to get to the Enchanted Forest, taking my time in the Stickerbrush of course...And of course, waves of nostalgia washes over me making it even more glorious. I'm gonna go play now.

  • If anyone fucking dislikes this video, they need to die ! No lie.

  • The Ghost with the barrels. Ha,Ha,Ha!

  • nostalgia is FUCKING KILLING ME.

  • never noticed how diddy and dixie's coat looks like a costume

  • When playing this game, I've never noticed that very low voice that says something repetitive between 1:32 and 2:01. Sounds like Diddy's (sorry for my bad English).

  • @lararosaeu Your English is fine. It sounds like one of the crocs being pounced on in my opinion

  • Donkey Kong country Returns is only rubbish

    It was a crazy style

but donkey kong country 2 have an old style they was better

sorry for my english im from germany

  • The SNES had childhood magic, the same magic that makes fairy tale stories magical, both to the child and to the adult.

Since a lot of people are discussing fps games, I should throw out that the only FPS game I really liked was TimeSplitters, but wait... that was made by a company comprising of ex-employees from Rare!

  • @blahinthe TimeSplitters FTW ! ! ! I still have my ps2 and all Splitter games. :)

  • this was my favorite level when I was a child

  • MP3 PLEASE!

  • These comments are so pretentious.

  • "Fow fow fow!"

  • I love this game very much and it's still one of the best games ever created and it is better then games they have nowadays :) . Rare were so awesome when they made the Donkey Kong Country games :). This is one of my favorite soundtracks :)

  • i was trying to record but i found it omg !! thanks mannn thank you very much !!

  • anybody else notice the penis on the right. great song though

  • If Rare was still with Nintendo Donkey Kong Country Returns would of been more epic.

  • @brain51983 Frankly... I doubt it. The series were not heading to a much clearer path around the end of the 90s as the translation to 3D was far from perfect.

What I would have absolutely loved, however, is that Nintendo commissioned David Wise to make music for it; I was speculating something like that myself before launch, but it never happened. Ah well.

  • Just... Nostalgia. I love it. One of the best feelings ever.

  • Try projecting this melody into your future rather than your past.

    Isn't that something?

  • OMG, this song makes me cry too. I miss these memory's so much! I had the best time of my life during this game. I miss it so much!

  • surprised niggas aint doin that rainy mood shit on this< still never seen the riany mood vid either rofl

  • whenever you go to a real life forest or woods this music would always be there in my child imagination in my mind and I would imagine ghostie wosties and shit.

  • Used to lose this level on purpose just so I could hear this track over and over.

  • This song "Web woods" is getting me some goosebumps! It's so nice!!! Liked it already when I played the level of Gloomy Gulch for the first time!! ;)

  • this song and game is amazing to gamers all around who love rare and Nintendo being together. they could of been a unstoppable force but sadly rare drop Nintendo and went for Microsoft. just think of the possibility's that could of came. new conker, new donkey country, new banjo and to top it all heart warming music pieces like this but one day this will be back. also for those of who are wondering what song this is it is called forest interlude

  • @supermariojune23 don't forget about Jet Force Gemini

  • @supermariojune23 hey nintendo kept donkey kong

  • @MrBda241 that is very true Nintendo did keep donkey Kong but the donkey Kong country we got today does not have the great music or game play it used to have like back in that day when rare help create it don't get me wrong the dkc is great but not as great as it was when rare ware was around

  • It does sound love music.

  • Nice one. It's thah music from some stages of Gloomy Gulch.

  • oh for a second when i saw the pic of diddy kong i thought it was a vagina for a second hahaha

  • it would be really nice if someone would establish a video game development studio which would make some new great retro SNES games.

  • Getting the DK coin at the end of this level was a bitch for me.

  • 1995

  • why can't i download these on itunes waaah

  • 0:49 "No matter what, I'll still have your love"

  • This game... it just has something special about it.

  • 1:32 What is love? Baby don't hurt me, don't hurt me...no more! :D

  • don't be sad because its over, smile because it happened.

  • @trams33 im still smiling because my super nintendo and this game still work! =)

  • @trams33 totally agreed.

  • @trams33 are you taking about the era of breath taking games??

  • @killertas1 without a doubt

  • @trams33 Amen!

  • Why can't I be a kid again!

    Whaaaaa!

  • I love this song. it makes me kinda sad though. idk why, i guess its the rythem

  • I remember getting back from a day at school and rushing to my SNES to play this game. Time passes quickly...

  • man old consoles are Fragile! :' (

  • @Mastersoniclink no wai dude still have my super nintendo and 60+ games all in working order

  • i tried to relive those days by dusting off my Super Nintendo, and while i was getting it out my Gamecube's pointy end fell on the SNES and stabbed a hole it...I don't know if it works still or not yet.

  • NIVEL COMPLICADO

  • Comment removed

  • at 2:12 directly above the time bar is a tire... inside of that tire is a penis plant.

  • freakin spider, never got the web ball shot right

  • This level was so hard.

  • awsome :D i loved playing this game with my sister but i was always stuck with the bad luck of fieing when i played wiht her -_____-

  • Oh MAN! I remember when the ghost is supposed to go hahaHA and throw shit at you! Most of the time it'd be stuff you can dodge but sometimes he'd throw goodies like treasure and lives or crazy bad stuff like zingers!

  • 0:50 I'M NOT AFRAID

  • This has nothing to do with donkey kong (I have never played this game ever sadly) but this could relate to me playing mario for super nintendo as a kid, oh boy those times were great, not worrying about bad things.

  • @tritanproductions You're an asshole. I guess that's why your channel doesn't exist any more. Just because some people liked my comment doesn't mean you have to call me a "thumbs up whore". I was just sharing a childhood memory of mine so you can suck it.

  • @Kittee23 Lol I was joking that's why I deleted the comment :P

  • Animal Antics and Toxic Tower were easy. Web Woods, on the other hand...

  • @Disturbed4Eva10 Web Woods is long, but not that hard unless you're no good at controlling Squitter. Just takes patience and good web placements. The hardest part is actually trying to get that DK coin from the goal >.<

  • @MonQFloR While controlling Squitter through the level isn't too hard, the DK coin and the length of the level, as well as trying to find out the secrets have something to do with Kannon shooting a wall make this level the most frustrating, in my opinion.

  • They don' t make good games like this no more. Everything is about zombies and opera singing today...... I almost shed a tear after listening to this. Back during my childhood....

  • 13 people had no childhood or were too young to play this game.

  • The ghost ropes on one of these levels sounded so cute i wanted to hug them <3

    Fond memories

  • po num tem hum brasileiro akiii kkkkkkkkkkkkkk

  • Dammit, why can't you dislike dislikes?

On a completely different note, :megusta:

Also, this is the very pinnacle of music. Nothing beats it, and the only thing that comes close is Life in the Mines Returns.

  • If you pay attention to the instrumentation in each of these songs, you realize that they're essentially duets between Dixie and Diddy: Musical monkey chatter.

    It's fucking pure genius!

  • i love this game forever<3, life was so easy back then...

  • life was so simple round this time...damn i miss this...

  • David Wise is a god...

  • dam this brings back memories. my brothers flying in to visit next week and i think i might have to download this on my wii just so we can play like we used to

  • @801forlife u cant download this on a wii o.O

  • @yourname34543 yes u can. i downloaded the game to my wii for 500 points i think

  • @yourname34543 i already did haha

  • 1:32-1:52 is so... magical... :O

  • abosolutely love it

  • those damn ropes keep disappearing!! lol

  • The music is very trippy.

  • i always found this just as good as stickerbush symphony, at certain points, i think its even better.

  • What I don't get: WHY hasn't this nearly as many views as Stickerbrush Symphony?

It deserves at least as many as that song. Why, you ask?

    1:32 to 1:52, nuff said.

  • @breegull64 I actually think that Aquatic Ambience deserves the million views despite the fact I think DK2 had the better music. I've always found myself annoyed with the Stickerbrush one because the level was too damn hard and the music wasn't that good.

  • @breegull64 Yep, that moment is just feels so trippy and nostalgic.

  • Full volume. Fuck the neighboors. Their going to love it anyway.

  • @TheAPC91 Lol.

  • this song makes me sad reminds me of the past

  • its a shame this song isnt on the original soundtrack. its a great tune

  • (insert sad life story about how I played this everyday and it makes me cry) I would but youtube users don't give a shit about that! :P Good music nonetheless.

  • @wizardlyTKO cmon dude, all the memories flow back, it is pretty sad.

  • I get watery eyes everytime I listen to this I miss my childhood

  • iam 44 years old.and this tune touches my sole so much,i no its sad,but i just love it

  • @N64zoot its not sad.i wish they were more 40-50 year olds like you.

  • ahh those sweet memories !! pausing the game just to listen to the song <3

  • best song of the game.

  • everything about this game was great. video games these days are barely a challenge.

  • This theme almost made me cry when I first heard it. It's so beautiful! Games nowadays don't even match up to the music in these old gems. Who cares about graphics? When I was little, I played to listen to the music. Most games don't do that anymore.

  • i remember when i was always scared of this level when i was little because of the creepy fog and those ghosts laughing at you but i would still play it for the music.

  • Follow left, above the cannon ball, to open the monkey hole!!!!

Best video game music EVER and for all time.

  • This and the theme to Bramble Blast have constantly been playing in my brain since 1995. This game was a breakthrough when it was released.

  • nostalgic manly tears ='] thanks for the memories nintendo and rare <3

    fuck cod grrr

  • this theme is the best theme in DKC2

  • waaaaahhh? wwoooooooh ...waaaaaaah wooooooooh... damn i need to get on that barrel

  • This is my favorite track out of all the tracks in every DKC game...

  • this should have mucho more views!!!

  • Games these days are challenging. But that's only because in new games your getting shot at by millions of people at once. These games are hard because you have to use your mind to progress. You really have to think "hmm there's a barrel here, do I have to take it with me to kill some zingers? Or do I have to go back and throw it at the wall so that I can open up a bonus room?". I think that's why kids of this generation are less smart. Video games don't make them think anymore!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!

  • I wish I could go back for just one day when I was little. Me and my friend would play this game and I would wear a pink hat and he would wear a red hat, we pretended to be Dixie and Diddy and would jump on the couches trying to get away from the baddies :) And then we'd go back to actually playing the game, haha

  • @Kittee23 Hahaha that must have been fun!

  • @IrishSpy33 It was! Kids and their imaginations, lol

  • Comment removed

  • @Kittee23 oh wow that's adorable lol

  • great game great music, great memories

  • Here's what made the 3 DKC games so good: THE MUSIC! You can say what you want but bottom line, the music made this game legendary, the gameplay was fun but not difficult, and the animation was flawless, but what you remember most about the DKC trilogy was the MUSIC! This is the reason why DKCR doesn't sit well with alot of people.

  • David Wise is a GENIUS! 'Nuff said! (Supposedly, when Rareware started out, he was their only composer...)

  • I still can´t believe that this music plays in a game which was released 1994 on a console which was relesead 3 years earlier...thank you nintendo and rare for the memories!

  • 1:32 to 1:52 always makes me look at the horizon...*sigh*...the horizon is as far away as the 90s and the many, many notes in this part remind me of the many, many years that have passed since them.

I never played DKC2 back then, I wonder why this makes me feel so damn nostalgic.

  • man i feel like cranking these songs and just lounge in the pool, these songs are uber nostalgic and extremely relaxing

  • when i'm at school i think of this song and it somehow keeps me consetrated on my work

  • omg i just realized that drake's producer, 40 shebib, sampled this shit for one of his songs! listen to the intro it sounds like one of drake's songs - i dont know it off the top of my head but im almost positive its sampled from this track. damn i thought the guy was more original.

  • @nuclearshadow12 What song, nigga?

  • 1:32 onwards jizzing like crazy

  • The music and adventure in this game is so good, that i truly believe it's psychologically healthy for children to play.

  • @EssentialCookie

yes i agree, perfect for kids, the good old times..

  • @EssentialCookie Goddamn it! Dude, you just said exactly what I was thinking. Jesus christ this is scary.

  • @EssentialCookie I think children should be forced to play DKC2 before they play CODBO. Maybe we can weed out all the "OMFG I JUST PWNED YOU NUBSAUCE BITCH ASS!"

  • @EssentialCookie youre insane

  • @EssentialCookie For that comment you win: TEH INTERNET!

    I agree with you!

  • @EssentialCookie Until they reach Toxic Tower...

  • @EssentialCookie

Hehe, I played Donkey Kong when I was a child :D

  • @EssentialCookie fuckin thumbs up to you, as far as it goes! someone finally said it!

  • @EssentialCookie No need to resort to ''believing'', you just know it is.

  • @EssentialCookie Until you get enough of those children becoming so pissed off at the level designs themselves...

  • @EssentialCookie Maybe you're right...

  • @EssentialCookie lmao fuck yea.. i was raised on these games. my daughter plays em now, the best games ever made

  • @TheAmbushHunter I remember those days when I was a kid, playing this game with my parents and cousins. This game marked my childhood

  • @J03Y961 yea it def shaped my childhood, good times man.. the best.

  • @EssentialCookie

I agree 100%. I know when I was a kid, the music and backgrounds and whatnot would send shivers down my spine. Just the combination of both in such amazing caliber would make me feel like I was heavily engaged in this deep and mesmerizing story... of two chimps fighting sentient and bipedal crocodile pirates. Yeah, I went there! But to the point, it DID make me feel good. Even the more frustrating levels would have their "eye of the storm" qualities that just felt so great.. :)

  • Erm, by "backgrounds" I mostly meant the atmosphere as well. The backdrop layers are nice, yes, but I didn't wanna mislead.

  • @EssentialCookie I agree wholeheartedly. Games nowadays are just not in tune with what kids need. The DKC and LOZ series are and always will be my favorite games, a shooter can NEVER compare to them. Because the protagonists aren't trying to destroy everything in sight, they're just trying to save their friends and loved ones by overcoming the obstacles that stand in their way. It's psychologically engaging since they have to infer a lot about the story, and the settings are so inovative :)

  • @DatSlowpoke OK yea I agree with sum of wat u said. The only part I disagree is wen u said a shooter can NEVER compare to them. Seriously? NEVER? Yea Ik COD and Gears of war and halo its all a piece of shit. I mean theyre addicting but story wise, music, etc. its shit. I dnt like how u only think good games r the ones where friends save each other. That doesnt make a good game. Its how u incorporate that into a game. And u dnt think in shooters ppl do that 2? U want good shooter? Hands down MGS.

  • @narutocursemark Mgs is meant to be far less of a shooter ya know? I mean if you're really good, you could go through most of the game not having to shoot really anything other than the helicoptors/planes and Metal gear itself, most of the rest is just straight CQC. Than again, I don't really consider it a shooter, more of a 3rd person action/stealth, wouldn't you agree? For the most part, the storylines in shooters are far outdone by other genres of games. The Zelda series being the progenitor.

  • @DatSlowpoke Yea....somewhat. My first time playing MGS I always try to sneak and kill. Then just shoot everything for replay value or just sneak thru the whole thing. But yea do u think DKC Returns is up there with the original DKC Trilogy?

  • @narutocursemark It's hard to say. I am very biased towards saying the original DKC games(DKC2 moreso then the others) just stand on their own apart from the new stuff. I mean I love DKCR don't get me wrong, but I grew up playing the old ones, so they hold a special place in my heart. Heck, I even loved DK64 even though it was a huge step away from the original games in terms of becoming a 3D adventure game.

  • WAAAHH!!! I miss this game...X'(

  • Krow's ghost and 12 ghostly Mini Neckys disliked this.

  • So many memories of my chilhood... Nice nice nice Very nice

  • I honestly think this soundtrack is 100X better than the original, but that's just my opinion

  • loved the music, but hated this level. i kept getting hit by those vultures right at the end

  • Who the fuck could dislike this?

  • @rootbeer543 only somebody who don't know what true music means.......

  • @cravis123 Tell me about it. This game may not have had as good a soundtrack as the first game, but it still kicks ass.

  • The best thing to do on this Earth in the mid 90s And Today was to invite 5-8 of your close friends to your house order a couple of pizzas and pop coca cola fits perfectly sit down in the living room put on Donkey kong 2 take turns while enjoying great fellowship with your buddies and while listening to this great music for about 2-3 hours and in three days you repeat the same thing. People of the World is this not off the charts amazing

  • 13 people think Donkey Kong Country Returns is better.

  • very relaxing

  • Why would they even put a dislike button on this video?

  • 1:32 to 1:52 Blows My Mind! haha I love DCK2!

  • It's a shame that Stickerbrush Symphony gets so much attention and praise while Forest Interlude doesn't to anywhere near the same extent. I still think the former is (just) better, but this one is amazing too and is a true gem not to be overlooked!

  • Anyone who ever gets the idea.. "THIS GAME IS GREAT IT NEEDS A SEQUEL" needs to stfu (im talking about great games that don't have a sequel yet" DKCR and Goldeneye for the wii are perfect examples of what happens when you try to remake golden classics and fail terribly

  • @ChickenWing575 Your comment is a perfect example of narrow-mindedness. The games industry is one of constant motion; stagnation leads ultimately to failure. Developers can't just keep doing the same things over and over again; the consumers will get bored, and the companies will lose money. Besides, DKCR can't have been that terrible with an aggregate score in the 80th percentile.

  • @Metaknight486 Oh i agree, and i wasn't talking about just rehashing games indefinitely. Im talking about remaking games that clearly were a success years ago and let the newer generations enjoy games that were story driven as opposed to built around the same "insert name here" call of duty "insert number here" games. That is, game companies that remake classics but ruin the name because they do a half-ass job and stick a $50 dollar price tag on it. Good Day.

  • @ChickenWing575 \

Hahaha nice one. You are very right. Anyways, DCK2 and its music rock to this day.

  • @ChickenWing575 Nintendo is not one of those companies.

  • @ChickenWing575 The thing of it is, DKCR isn't a remake. It's more of an homage, and quite a well-polished one at that. The difference between Nintendo and other companies when it comes to revisiting classic properties is the care that goes into them. While most developers and publishers may be content to merely slap an HD label onto a classic game and offer it up to the tune of 60 dollars, Nintendo actually makes an effort to appeal to new and old fans alike. Shove your "Good Day" up your ass.
