  • arguing on internet?

  • great game,i have the 360 versions(ntsc-u) of this and king of fighters xii(12),but yeah this game is fun but i think the characters could have been maybe slightly better, the art style, the fast paced gameplay and story are all great its just the some of the characters are very odd pulling off,all in all if your a game collector(like me) i would suggest getting this and any other of the "taito type x" ports that are coming to console/=

  • I can see why this game was overlooked.

  • Someone's clearly confusing "beat-em-up" with "fighter" and gets thumbs up for it... talk about sad |D

  • @MidBoss666

Well, if you take the term "beat-em-ups" literally it would still work. Obviously that is their way of thinking. Doesn't mean it's wrong.

  • @PurpleDolphiN42 It's not about the "term" it's about the "genre".

If you take the term "fighting game" literally, then even RPGs and shooters would count, since you do lots of "fighting" in those.

But when it comes to the actual "genre" then "fighting game/fighter" and "beat-em-up" (or "scrolling beat-em-up" as it was originally called) are two different things

  • @MidBoss666

Yep, I agree. I just wanted to share how I thought they could be confused between the classifications. People often take in things literally, that's how misunderstanding happens. It isn't too much of a big deal though. Everyone has had that problem at some point in their lives.

  • @OhGodNo666 I've never heard of a "Beat 'em all" either, I've played since the mid 80's. "Fighter" and "Beat 'em up" are interchangeable to a degree depending on locale but I've never heard of that retarded expression before.

  • @andy7666 Too bad. Look around, I already showed OhGodNo666 that the term is used by other sites. Just because you've never heard of it before doesn't make it retarded.

  • @Glitcher2000 It doesn't make them retarded, it makes them wrong. The term beat 'em up is defined as a game where you fight across a level while fighting a lot of of underpowered mooks until the level boss, while a fighting game is one that focuses in one-on-one matches.

I once saw a magazine calling Ubi Soft "Libi Softi". Does that mean that's now an acceptable name for the company?

  • @Shadoboy You seem to be confusing a typo with an alternate term. The term beat-em-all was used repeatedly in the magazine, so it's not a spelling mistake.

  • @Glitcher2000 No, it's not a spellilng mistake, its using the wrong term.

  • @Shadoboy Hoo-boy, I'm not restarting a protracted year-old argument at three in the morning. Just read all my replies to OhGodNo666 and leave it at that. I'm going to bed.

  • @Glitcher2000 Read them, found them faulty, but still just because a magazine and another site use it doesn't change the fact that the rest of the gamer comunity uses the term to describe the scrolling game genere while fighting games is what defines things like the one in the video.

  • @Glitcher2000

Only French use that term though

  • ten or twelve characters?:P

  • I think i saw charizard..

  • man. where are the usa producers???

  • I would consider buying this if the game had netcode comparable to Blazblue. Theres no excuse for fighting systems without a GPPO netcode or better.

  • they make it seem like people can do those crazy ass combos damn most i could get was like 75+
