  • Drawing a blood sample on a snake, not easy, especially if it's a venomous one. :) I can draw blood samples on a fish until I'm blue in the face, but snakes and crocodilians I find hard to find their veins.

  • @silverbulletgirl29 Well, I can't draw blood from fish, so there you go.

  • Great video.

I am glad I found your channel!

  • Whats the Venom good for?

  • @dannyboi70savege Mamba venom is used in research on neurological disorders and also for pain control.

  • how much would it cost to keep one of thse and do they like kibbles and bits? and i dont see a water bowl or food dish, that snake looks like its being neglected.

  • @seanziess Not sure what your talking about . The area were the animal is being extracted from is not a cage. The cage has water and the snakes in the video are 10 years old and were born here at the zoo. See video on breeding Green Mambas. They eat rodents like all mamba's and are will cared for.

  • do u all have antivenom for all the venomus snakes u have?

  • For those that antivenom is made for yes.

  • @kyreptilezoo so antivenom is impossible to make for some species?

  • Not impossible, but impractical. If very few people are bitten, there is no financial incentive to make antivenom, and resources are better placed to work toward other problems.

  • aren't the mambas some of the most venomous of the poisonous snakes?

  • They are some of the most venomous of the venomous snakes.

  • what snake did u get bitten by? and if a mamba, how was the recovery process? length and intensity

  • Never bitten by mamba. Have been bitten by cobra's,viper's and rattlesnakes.

  • How come there's no waterbowl in the snake cage there :/

  • Not sure what cage you are talking about? The area I catch the snakes in is not a cage so there is no water dish thereThanks for your comment.

  • I have seen this guy in a few of the videos. Is he perchance the guy who is the victim in all of the snake bite videos?

  • Yes. He does about 600 to 1000 extractions a week and has been envenomated three times while extracting in 31 years. Not perfect like us all.

  • nice video i would be so scared doing this job

  • Well, you do have to have a healthy respect for the snakes. thanks.

  • wow cool, another great video, you guys do some great work, i know you do it to help people but why? do you enjoy it???

I know the only reason i want to work with herps is because i enjoy it

  • I enjoy it but also want to give something back to the animals and people.

  • cool, have u seen my site and forum?? just added a new page about my field herping i think you would like it :)
