And he does not play this beat clean and nice... This guy is NOT an expert on drums, although he says he is.

I want to re-phrase something from my last comment. He plays his kit relatively well. He would be able to hold his own in any bar band. By saying "good" I did not mean "really good" or "exceptional". Good just means he doesn't suck.

As a drummer who has played this song countless times from childhood, I would like to interject that this is NOT a very good teaching rendition. The original was all single-stroked with alternating hands on every stroke. One thing he does have right is all the accents are on the right,..though he missed many of them. This guy IS a good drummer. If you happen to be an aspiring percussionist though,..I would listen to the original song over and over on your headphones while playing and match it

That is way too fast to be even close to the original. Find the Surfaris on Youtube playing WipeOut and you will see it is all accented single strokes and no paradiddles at all. showing off speed does not teach.

Whatever happened to traditional grip? Sandy Nelson used it. There is a nice video here on youtube where Buddy Rich explains why matched grip is all wrong. You just can't get the speed and technique with matched grip unless you play tympani.
