I like that little boy at 5:47 and how he runs and looks up :) So cute :) Is it just me or at kids around that age back then more "innocent" than kids today? It's probably the parenting style and culture that we're around.
I did pay attention to the text but didn't fully get it. I get it now. But when I read it, it says "Music video for..." and that preposition "for" seems out of place and I thought of something else. "For" could mean, in this case, "in honour of". The "for" is misused and creates imprecise statements allowing misinterpretation.
I remember when families could go meet Daddy at the gate when he came home. Now you can't go through security without a ticket, and they make you walk through the airport barefoot like a peasant.
would u rather have terrist able to get on the plane no issue and get ur flight hijacked and then flown in to the white house or something like that or would ur rather have to walk around like a peasant barefoot nowing ur safe
This was in the U.S., right? And that would probably be only domestic terminal because if it was an international arrival, they'd had to pass through customs and immigration.
It just boggles me the number of people that can't understand this was put together from two different sources of film, and done well after the fact. Was it done that well?
Of course I know it's made from different sources of film. But, the author could have try to find another source or blur out the words Pan Am and United. Of course it's from two or more different sources. The criticism here is that the creator/author/producer did not find a way to mitigate the seam that runs between these two films.
@wbwolf that amazed me too! !!Just stumbled upon (well actually this showed up in my "Recommended" today. I firstly love the song, and agree, the video is prime as well, but funnily enough, being a civil aviation geek, I have actually watched all the source video in their original format, so I recognize everything that has been used to piece this together! An awesome job. And you're right, some people are just tools.
@thibaulthalpern Just thought of an answer for this: Depending on how long the distance of travel is, lets say: Miami-Tokyo, the plane can't stay in the air for a straight 24 hrs because it can't carry that much fuel. The plane will land in another country once it crosses the continent and the passengers will board another plane.
Interesting. I was watching some old footage on BOAC's 707 and found it interesting to note that airport terminal announcements would say "xxx jet service to xxx". It's interesting they wanted to note "jet service". Of course, it was rare back then so I guess it was announced to add to the cachet of flying :) I wonder if that's also why airlines back then used boarding, take off and landing music. I don't hear that any more.
I like how back then they could use these pin-up numbers. Nowadays, there's no way to do that AND keep up with the number of flights leaving and arriving.
Cool, but not '77. Men in hats? More like '62. In 1977, the lobby would be filled with mustached businessmen in sea green or maroon jackets, all carrying Samsonites jam packed with cocaine. The last hippies would camp under the phone booths while newly divorced moms jet off to Acapulco with guys named Wayne. And shag. Shag would be everywhere- running up the walls, over the ceiling, round the toilet. Bits of shag would get in the food. Runways would be closed due to excessive shag.
Taking off with PanAm, and landing with United - In flight transfer maybe? Curtains in the interiors, so it was the early 60s, yet music was 70s porn. Strange vid.
Check out where a lot of the influnces come from, look at my videos, i have a clip from the film THE FANTASTIC PLASTIC MACHINE FROM 1969 and the movie trailer from a nother surfing film called FOLLOW ME....CRAZY MAN
That was first class. Now first sucks. Only junk food, poor champagne or Wines. Except Singapore's or Cathay but for how long. Looking forward to have my private jet. Bravo for this wonderfull video!
I can't believe this video is really existing. Not only that this song is AWESOME. The Vid is like the title suggests pure 70s style, amazing! Thank so much for the upload.
