  • Check out my channel i lov goldfish

  • eew bat quality

  • borring

  • just a question : why do u have a heater in this tank if its a goldfish tank, cant they survive in room temperature water ? because thats how i have mine and they are doing just fine.

  • Goldfish actually prefer cooler water than many tropicals available to aquarists. Do your homework, and you'll know! :)

  • @TheinfamousJoker Gold fish can survive in warm or cold water. Some fish tend to grow bigger in warmer water.

  • i like it =)

btw you dont need a heater, they like it cold

  • i beg to differ...

I've been smoking meth with my goldfish for about 4 months now, and they are all quite happy and are doing well.

  • me too.. not meth but pot and all is well. -nyc-

  • I love my gold fish and if you buy any fish or animal you have a responsibility to care for them properly. How did we get on the subject of koi there are no koi in my tank. GOLD FISH WILL NOT SURVIVE IN A FISH BOWL OK OK OK!!!!!!!!!

  • im thinking of raising a fish, but my tank is kinda 20 gallonish, can any1 give me advice please?

  • You could put 2 small comets in there if you want to do goldfish. Goldfish are cool because you don't need a heater. Just make sure you get the tank cycled. A good way to do this is use water or gravel from an established tank. I know as beginers we don't always like to do the cycling thing, but it is totally essential. It will make it so your water is crystal clear, not stinky, and healthy for the fish. Good luck!

  • My response was supposed to be to SethSean. beetlebug, your tank looks great and it's nice to see a set up that's not overstocked. Goldfish are awesome. Thanks for sharing!

  • good advice on the rest of it, but 20 gallons is just way too small for comets. They'll grow to be up to 12 to 14 inches. Fancies would be much better.

  • I would get two fancy goldfish and heavy filtration (at least a filter specced for a 40 gallon aquarium, should say "up to 40 gallons" on it).

If you want more fish, look into tropical species. They're much cleaner so you can keep more of them in a smaller space. Also, you can mix and match different species, allowing you to have a more diverse tank. But be careful about mixing aggressive and non-aggressive fish. That usually doesn't end well.

  • Koi require need bigger tank atleast a100 gallon or so. that si why they are best kept in pond but htey can be keep inside. Pleco can be keep with goldfish but there are type you should not like Common pleco. only keep rubbernose pleco. Goldfish cant be keep with most other tropical fish, different requirement

  • Ok, that si a nice tank, but if it's really a 55 gallon, then you might want ot think about it, how many fish do you have in there? 1 fancy goldfish need 10 gallon alone, 1 common goldfish or comet or shubunkin need atleast 20gal each.

  • In case you guys are all stupid, I think that you should realize that Goldfish and plecos need different water requirements, mainly temperature. Don't put ANY tropical fish in there unless you want to raise the temperature, in which case, you should remove all of the Goldfish. Pretty Koi, though. They should be kept in a pond, and not an aquarium. Koi are pond fish.

  • pretty sure plecos can be kept in colder water than most tropical fish but not as low as goldfish can tolerate

  • other tropical fish that can be kept at colder temperatures (off the top of my head) zebra danios, tougher cichlids such as convicts and oscars and i know someone who has rainbowfish with goldfish

  • by the way where i live a coldwater tank is like 20-25*c (68-77*f)at this very point in time my axolotl tank which is unheated is 27*c (81*f) and its night

  • Hey Stupid!, Koi Can Be Kept in 55 Gallon Tank or larger!!

  • Yes, but unless you plan on moving them to a huge tank or a pond, they will outgrow it in no time. How many fish bigger than one foot can fit in a 55G tank? None. And no, I'm absolutely sure that unless you have some really tough goldfish& a really tough pleco, they can't be kept together. Trust me. Even if you do think that I'm stupid.

  • People dont realize how awesome a simple tank of goldfish can be. I have freshwater and coldwater tanks and the goldfish are one of the most beautiful

  • i pretty much have the same setup but have a couple of koi

  • nice set up and tank i got the same one check it out!

  • Dont listen to the two guys that posted the comments about tropical fish, when I was younger my father kept goldfish and put a pleco in there and the plecos would only live for a short time and then die so keep up the good work by having a five in a 55 gallon cause goldfish need 10 gallons to themshelves.

  • nice to see someone with a decent sized tank for gold fish, nice on emate

  • get tropical fish in there mate!!!
