@calummorris1993 Lolll after three month i was playing the hole song easily with the solo and the no picking parts lolll but your not on the wrong way.......just practice no pick and then youll be able to do it!
The clean sound check makes SUCH a nice change from almost all the other demos I've seen for this guitar in which the emphasis is usually upon extreme distortion and grunge. It's useful to hear that this underrated instrument is just as useful for clean jazz styles or even country as it is for metal.
because in my opinion that is not a sound testing song... its easy, but you might want to try something high and something low... an easy 1 would be sweet child o mine, but other than that i see that it is a good test, and you keep practicing
@Jincheker the Special II's have a little plate thing right above the neck if it say "Special II" its Chinese if it says "Gibson" it American and its not to much of a heavy guitar
seriously guys, there is no need to post hates on this vid. you think i dont know it sucks ?? the only reason its here is coz its got 28k views and because it is a sound test... sheesh if you dont like it, dont watch it, simples....
theyre effectively the same guitar, from whqat i can tell, just that the LP100 has the classic curved top and 2 vol 2 tone knobs, it really depends if you want to pay more for a more aesthetically pleasing design
or what about gibson LP studio or EP lp custom??? just found out that i had extra money so what do you recommend??sorry for being inquisitive nc demo btw
I've got the same guitar as above. It's a good beginners guitar and I really enjoy playing it but if I had it to do all over I'd start with the LP-100. Once you start playing sooner or later you'll start eyeballin a Gibson or Epiphone Standard etc..Seems it would help to already know how to deal w/ 4 knobs instead of 2.I don't know, that might not be an issue....I'm still learning..so.
no, the LP-100 is alot better because I heard it stays in tune better and 4 knobs makes a whole lot of difference because I have one and it sounds really good too
disagree, mine stays in tune fine and extra knobs make NO difference to sound ... all it means si that each pickup has its own individual volume and tone
that'd be a waste of money, EMG's wont make a relitivly bad guitar sound good lol ... that would be like putting a V8 engine into a smart car -- pointless. you have to understand the lp special is made of basswood ect and has bad joints ect, EMG's wont make it sound MUCH better
I'm gonna get this guitar as my first electric. I hear you playing the slower Black album material from Metallica (which isn't bad, but I like other Metallica better). How does this guitar handle faster songs from Metallica's catalogue?
Ive hade mine about a year.. spent $60 bucks on the authentic klusion tuners that are standard on gibson customs, can stay in tune for at least three weeks
do you think the one in the bundle is less quality or what, is the quality better when bought seprately, or what, and is the guitar worth buying for beginners
the sustain isnt good at all and you cant get decent distortion out of the pickups so dont buy this for performing live. I had to get my pickups changed to seymour duncans and it made everything better. EMG's are okay but i have a problem with putting batteries in a pickup
i disagree, i think for a £100 guitar the sustain is very good. and i get brilliant distortion out of this guitar at dropped tuning. putting EMG's or seymours in this would be like putting a V8 in a VW beetle ... pointless
lol, thanks for that comment ... my epiphone is amazing (Y) drop tune it and the bassy pups make it sound real deep, stick some 11's on it, into drop c, beast of a guitar
for all of you assholes who don't know what the fuck a deluxe model is, you obviously don't pay fucking attention. see that? CLOSED COIL HUMBUCKERS. normal specials are open.
Yeah, I know what you mean. If you like the les paul sound, you're obviously going to want to go for a gibson. And if you're more into a funky style or shredding, a fender strat or an ibanez are good choices.
Nice guitar. Nice sound. Nice shape. Nice price. Bad reputation... Everyone says its for begginers cuz its lots of people first guitar. But it's not cuz its for beghginers, its cuz no one would spend 1,200 $ on their first guitar!
compared to something like a Gibson Les Paul Jr. or LP Standard, some would say not really. Although Epiphone is owned by gibson they use cheaper materials in making the epiphones. Ive heard a lot of complaints with the LPS II that the pickups are weak, the hardware is really shitty, etc. Personally (i have the guitar) start with this guitar and move up As you progress u might want to look at an Epi LEs Paul Custom or an actual LP.
metalking123 - ibanez has guitars that are purely for metal...epiphone lp special 2 is good for metal, and also can be good for other types of music, so if ur a beginner i suggest getting the epiphone LP special II and also get a marshal mg series 15watt dfx, and get a good ibanez wen u get a little more experienced
METALLICA! haha hey dude i'm thinkin bout gettin this guitar maybe in that color or the orange burst one so any things special bout it? how are the pickups.
and your other comment ... these are stock pick ups you know ... and yea i would recomend it for beginers because i dont play mine now coz i prefer my esp

You nailed it. Great! I have a 2004 model without the fancy pickup covers. Sounds as good as my 58 LP VOS. My 58 has the burstbuckers and this little $180 "Special" has hotter pickups. I kid you not. Cool how all the pots and switchs are lables "epiphone" under the cover. So not really a "cheap" axe just inexpensive. These axes sound better and better with age. When I get time I will compare the two. My girlfriend even likes the LP 2 sound better. I told her to.
