  • The years have gone by 80's long gone but this song takes me back to beautiful times...

  • back then music was 'art'

  • fuck you

  • 元歌は誰か忘れましたが、こっちの方が100倍カッコ良い!!

    UPして下さった方!本当に有り難うございます!!

  • The constant transition effect felt cheesy at first (2011) but in the end really worked for me and stands the test of time. Doesn't hurt Siouxsie was a pivotal influence in my juvenile years. I am largely who I am because of artists like her, Alison M, Chrissie H., etc. Finally got to see her once in '91 at the KROQ Weiner Festival (?), I think Budgie played a few Creature songs but that may have been another gig. It's really a shame my brain's so fried but I'll never forget the heart of it.

  • makes me think of Ab Fab lol :)

  • R&B LOL man that stuff blows asshole.

  • those eyes...oh those eyes

  • this version is much less musically interesting. Chordally speaking, the band uses the usual pop chords instead of the far more interesting chords of the original version. sort of like Wheels on Fire for Dummies. The band probably doesn't know that one chord near the beginning and found the "this wheel shall explode" too unnatural for the beginners they are. Oh well, still is a nice version.

But the song is quite adventurous, and if you're going to do it, at least do the good parts.

  • I love her versions of Dear Prudence and The Passenger, but this still leaves me cold. I didn't listen to the original for many years, only to discover that it is a beautifully haunting song. So strange, because Siouxsie is the queen of beautifully haunting...

  • Don't you love how the 80's singers like Siouxie or Kate Bush are still WAY sexier and more sensual all covered up, than Lady Gaga strapping 2 pieces of duct tape on her tatters :D <3

  • @brikered Gaga will be long forgotten while people will still be listening to Siouxie. Gaga's just a throw away piece of media event trash. The only way she'll be able to be on anyone's mind will if she goes the way of another limited talent like Madonna, making a big deal about herself, going off to buy children in some 3rd world country or some other splashy thing that doesn't involve actually producing music.

  • Out of all the covers of this song, I have to say this is my fave. I almost like it better than Dylan's original version! Hehe! :)

  • Damn I love this version so vibrant and edgy, what more could you ask for? Off course this is not gonna sound like the Bob Dylan one, it's Bob Dylan... duh! Lol...

  • Happy Birthday love!

  • @BabylonAGoGo

Indeed. Nine Squidbillies dislike this video.

  • I love how her makeup seems to have a touch of the 1920s in it.

  • Didn't this bitch used to wear a swatzika armband? Talk about shock value.

  • @RDBeatnik she wore that for show, she isn't really a Nazi or anything

  • bad version. ruins the song.

  • @infinitefathom no, I think this is the best version of it, Siouxsie did an excellent job with it

  • @Daffneyfan man, have you heard the "Basement Tapes" version? c'mon. Siouxsie sucks.

  • @infinitefathom then what are you doing here if you don't like her? Siouxsie pioneered the whole goth/alt. rock movement and has sang and covered some of the best songs in music. Don't hate her because she decided to cover a classic, at least it's not that horrid TV show which name I will not say covering this.

  • @Daffneyfan Hey hey now! I love THAT show, Siouxsie AND Julie Driscoll's version!

  • I love her Cruella D'Evil look at 1:57 and 2:27

  • siouxsie can do no wrong!

  • This track reminds me of great times, going around with my old mates during the 1980s, we would go to a club which would play our sort of music (Siouxie the Cult etc) then we would finish off the night by going to the ruins of Great Witley court in Worcestershire (or simular) during the early hours...then unfortunately most of us 'grew up' and got married etc.....great memories...Siouxie is superb, I don't see any bands with her quality these days in my opinion!

  • i listened to it on the radio while driving once... this song is fuckin awesome!

  • I know this is a cover, and just about everyone and their brother-in-law in the music world has done a version of it, but Siouxsie's is The Best and she and her Banshees just about take ownership of this tune, IMO

  • have you ever seen a more beautiful group of people singing an awesome song such as this?

  • @Daffneyfan I agree. They are absolutely beautiful!

  • too good

  • Siouxsie & The Banshees were absofuckinglutely one of the most brilliant bands. Their music had such depth & artistry and craft to it that it truly stands the test of time. Love it. I feel bad for these 20-nothings who are fed a daily drivel of rap and r&b crap, sung by skanky talentless ho's who need their voices modified just to get thru a song.

  • @PatrickDC202 As a 20-something, I can assure you that I don't listen to R&B and crap like that. I've been into Siouxsie, Bauhaus, Sisters of Mercy, and all that good stuff since I was 13 :-)

  • @PatrickDC202 wow. VERY VERY well said, sir.

  • Silly me, I never realised that THIS song (re-done by someone else) was the same song as the beginning of "AbFab".

  • the timings a bit different not a bad version though

  • L'ingMAO at all posters on this vid that think Julie Driscoll did the original version of this song.

  • @subg88

LOL yes, because we both know that it was Bob Dylan ;)

The song can be found on The Basement Tapes LP.

  • I just get crazy with the drums of this song! reminds me something like a battle song!

  • Siouxsie openly smiling! very rare!

  • Although this is the official video - it is monaural, NOT stereo .... To share it, I will have to use one of the other YT versions .... kinda sucks ...

  • probably the best metamorphosis a music could get into... its virtually another music...and in my opinion one of the best things Siouxsie recorded.. The chords and sound atmosphere are a bit transcendental somehow...

    Just love this

  • probably the best metamorphosis a music could get into... its virtually another music...and in my opinion one of the best things Siouxsie recorded..

    Just love this

  • Best version of this song I think to ever have been produced. It just flows much better.

  • ithis is one of thefew cases wher i like the cover better than the original

  • It seems like the remakes in the 80's are better- depeche mode route 66, love and rockets ball of confusion, and siouxie.

  • Madonna not yet it should of been a few years later, Rock and Roll Hall of fame needs to ad Kate Bush , Donna Summer, The Runaways, and Pat Benatar.

  • Siouxsie is a more Goth British Madonna.

  • I use to fuck her hairdresser...just thought I'd let you know

  • @ihithardfrom95 how was it?

  • @MONARCHPROJECT Pretty dam good "i my memory serves me well" LOL oh to be young again !!

  • watch it with sound off. damn hilarious

  • very good perfomance :D

  • a classic

  • Siouxsie é a mulher mais linda da música.

    Linda, linda demais.

  • After Peekaboo they went to shit imo.

  • LOOOVVEEE IITTTT!!!!!

  • i wasnt even born or my mom when this single came out....

    and i totally love it!!

ppl that dont think so are stupid shitheads!!!!!!!!

    learn something bout GOOD music!!!!

  • classic!!

  • I don't understand why everyone is sooo upset about this cover. I mean damm it's S&B, did you really think they were going to sing EXACTLY like the og. It u want to hear the og version then wacth Ab Fab.

  • So who is upset with this cover? It must be new fans that know shit all about music, because it certainly wouldn't be an original Siouxsie fan. I can spot a new fan miles away, especially when they talk about a classic album on here and say something along the lines of "This was a completely underrated album." It makes me want to smack people when they say stupid things like that. Hear that people? If you weren't born when an album came out then STFU! You don't know what you're talking about.

  • LMFAO:0) I couldn't have said it better myself.

  • the 80s was a pleasent drug induced blur

oh Siouxsie how i wanted to shag u

  • lol

  • Perspective is only that. Post where your interests sleep.

  • Reaganism huh; that's deep man thats real heavy...u speaking for yourself there...

  • Yes you are.

  • This is a very fun music video

  • i can't believe bob dylan wrote this

  • 3:29 to the end; magic. so many memories. i loved the 80's.

  • I love Siouxsie! She's always been unique, avant-garde, and kickass! :)

  • is this one from the 1980s??

  • Siouxsie's the only one that could get me to like a song penned by Dylan..

  • Awesome cover performed by an awesome band. Thanks for the upload!

  • Their arrangement of this song was great

  • one of the best bands ever, siouxsie and the banshees, an exellent cover

  • Haunting tune; the past comes back with this one. The 80's seem now like a dream.

  • good cover

  • Comment removed

  • i wasn't born in the period (musically), but i still weirdly relate to this version better than to the original one. this one seems to flow more, to be more melodic, while the original seems very spoken word-ish and, thus, to me, not as soothing.

  • Everyting you said is why I like this one the best. . .

  • Not sure if I like this arrangement. I'm still in love with the Julie Driscoll version.

  • another dylan great

  • not punk, not new wave, not gothic, a very unique band and a very unique talent !!

    We miss you !!

  • --- We miss you !! ---

Didn't she released a new solo album about a year or so ago?

  • Yep. It rocks, buy it.

  • The seminal/founding/cutting edge bands are frequently hard to identify with what the movements eventually stagnate into. Witness "The Clash aren't really punk" and similar statements.

  • She should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and not Maddona.

  • it seems that today the ability to plagiate and not create is rewarded...but we do know who the real artist is, don't we?

  • yeah, well nobody's perfect :-)

  • @seahorse19007

    They both should be their.

  • true

  • @seahorse19007 u bet ;)

  • @seahorse19007 they both should be ,siouxsie was goth version of madonna.Strong kick ass women!!!

  • @seahorse19007 They both deserve to be there.

  • now i wonder if there was a video for their 'little johnny jewel' cover

  • Good point. I don't really like it though.

  • I like the cover, but Sioux loos like the fuckin' Cruella de Vil with those outfits!!!

  • Cruella da Ville is ace, Siouxsie should play her some day - she would be brill!

  • Obviously the intention!

  • Thank you for posting it! It's been ages since I last watched it. I thought I'd never see it again! :)

  • The video is perfect as a study of the real gothic style.

  • Amen to that!

  • you must be old

  • yeah, i'm 19. (ancient!!!)

  • yeah, i'm 19. (ancient!!!)

  • I'm 35! Older than House is! LOL

  • This was the very first 7" single I bought as a teenager. Still love you Siouxsie! x

  • Why was the video taken down?

There's nothing wrong with it and it's Siouxsie!

Who doesn't love such a Goddess?

  • I went to school with a girl who grew up to marry Siouxsie's road manager. Gorgeous ladies who defined 80s glam/punk.

  • what a wonderful woman! marry me!

  • I can't believe I used to wear make-up like that...

  • @EPbabe I think you should bring it all back again! Why the heck not?

  • Luv the video.Luv Siouxie.Luv the song. The most charismatic singer and band ever.Always a breadth of fresh air.Luv em forever.Absolutely Fabulous.
