Eddie Hoh and Harvey were a great rhythm section and were just as important to the overall sound as Kooper Bloomfield and Stills. Harveys tune is BEAUTIFUL. What a player.
brooks one of the best bass players of all time and well under rated but your a different class man you rock the bass i love your style specailly in super session
Supper Session... yes it was & still fresh today.
I am curious... would anyone know what became of the drummer Eddie Hoh, I've sent a few e-mails out to no avail, maybe some here might know what happened to Eddie Hoh is he still alive or did he pass on? thank you in advance.
@nixjag1 " . . . that relatively few have ever heard . . . ?" That album was a million-seller back in the year. And it still sells whenever a remaster is issued.
@EasyAce ... My comment wasn't meant as a slam. I bought the lp, the 8 track, and two cds. It may very well have sold a million, but I bought it in September '68 out of a K-Mart cut-out bin for $1.79. Thru the years I've had to tell people about it in an effort to get them to purchase it. What we didn't need on the last reissue were alternate cuts of two tunes. Kooper did us a disservice. Or are we to
assume there were no other cuts left to add to the cd?
Excellent video on the history of "Super Session," and great presentation. Great to have these mini-documentaries while the important people are still very much around and able to tell the stories. Thanks!
Harvey, what was it like playing and hangin with Bloomfield. Esp the Flag days - how does he rank with all the other 'geniuses' you've worked with?

Bloomfield split because he couldn't find any smack around. I think he took off back to Chicago just to find some.

What a great find. Thanx Brooks's. My favorite album of the 60's.

"Two days". One of the best jazz jamming sessions ever. Go figure. I wonder who did the editing?

I had heard he drove a motorcycle into lake michegan and that was his ending but I don't really believe that. Great drummer!

Hey Harvey,
Why didn't you play the 40th Anniversary of Newport?
Buddy I might understand?!?
Barry got some guy (?) that pretty much nailed Bloomers parts.
Long time fan.

Thanks from me, also. Super Session
will always be one of the greatest albums
that relatively few have heard. It's great to
hear from Harvey, but I also wonder
about the Stephen Still remark. Are we to
take it that Stills went on to be a major
chump, or did Harvey just use a bad
choice of words? As long as I've got
Super Session and A Long Time Comin'
in my cd collection, I'll be a happy man.

Stephen is a fabulous singer-songwriter!

This is probably as close as I'll ever get to being in that very room at session time.
Awesome. I'd love a few words about "His Holy Modal Majesty", if there are any.
