@Runescape28 - somepne has probably already said this, but just in case - the movie, "La Vie En Rose" is quite good and will give you some background on this wonderful lady and her music.
Don't forget Bertolucci's "The Dreamers" - Piaf's song underscores the credits circa 2003. Zeitgeist-y steam bath of a love triangle set during the '68 Paris riots. You either like this movie or think it's...truly odd. Enjoy ;-)
omg.... freaking awesome music.... and OMG I ALMOST FLIPPED when I saw half these comments are in french..... sweet soggy old people on a hot sunday morning!!! :)
Rus in rede kleine Piaf. Guy
What can I say about Edith Piaf singing this song? She has created an experience I will always treasure. Where do I want to go when I die? Heaven or Hell? When I die send me to wherever Edith Piaf resides.
This brings back such powerfully moving memories of that Parisian cafe 24 years ago when I a newly divorced 24 year old male met a beautiful 25 year old Univ. of Paris female named Jospehine at a cafe near Sacre Coeur and we shared a dark and lovely night of tears and love.
@LadyMan777 I'm pretty sure it was on the second installment of the movie BABE...the one with the pig and the two farmers. I remember when Babe tried to help the act at the hotel and ended up accidentally setting fire to the place. As they went through the scene, this song replaced sounds that would have been made from things falling and people shuffling around. The mice in the movie also sang it.
Canzone sublime..
this is the song that made me fell in love with the French language, why I started to learn it and the one that always makes me cry. My Mother used to play this to me when I was just a baby, one of my earliest memories. This is gorgeous!!! LOVE it. Thank you for this video.
@mikey100ist Except they DID use it in Inception. Every song from movies are made before the movie or else it wouldn't be in the movie! Theres nothing stopping people to express their feelings from a song they heard in a show. Pretty obvious -_-
I can't think of a case where the song and the singer are more indelibly intertwined. It's like she lived her whole life to be able to sing this one great final song.
Quinns Bar, Papeete, Tahiti 1963 I first heard this song before A friend and I had our ass kicked by a mob of Tahitians. The outcome for me was a few hours with Marlon Brando's wife and her friends. Memories its all we have and no regrets....

Truculent. Inoubliable.
