  • This hit by Gale Storm hit #6 on the Top 40 charts and finished at #61 for the year, 1956. On July 9, 1955, Bill Haley and His Comets hit #1 with Rock Around the Clock, signifying the start of the Rock Era. In April 1956, Elvis Presley hit #1 with Heartbreak Hotel, shooting this new sound into the stratosphere.

  • Lovely song!

  • I have always enjoyed Gale Storm on TV. She was also very successful as a singer. This is one of my favorite songs and Gale does a wondeful job on it. It is nice to read some nice things about her and how nice she was to everyone.

  • Love it 100%

  • Gale was that rare commodity, a successful and famous person in show business who remained sincere, kind, secure in faith and family and tackled her challenges with courage and without self-pity. As you can see here, she also was a great lip-syncher. Yes, it looks totally live, but it's not. Note at the start she has her lips set to move with the voice as it comes in and watching for a hand cue. She was good at it because she had a long history in film musicals.

  • I have written two fan letters in my entire life. One was to the iconic Jean Arthur; the other, to Gale Storm when I was stationed in Yokosuka, Japan. The reclusive Ms. Arthur, never replied; Ms. Storm did. During mail call, I was shocked to hear, "You have a letter from Gale Storm!" All were impressed. Along with the letter, she sent an autographed photo that picked up our office's morale. Not only was she talented and beautiful, she was a lovely human being. I will treasure her always.

  • Very nice story! It's great to hear about the good stars. At one time MS Storm lived in Encino, California, and was a neighbor of another gem, Gisele MacKenzie!

  • Great story and it really shows what kind of woman she was. Thank you for sharing!

  • @TheBigwayner Great story! I loved this song as a young boy in the 50s and always watched The Gale Storm Show.

  • One of the great records from the 50"s. I wish we could rewind the clock

  • I keep forgeting how prety she was.

  • Rest in Peace goes for me too!!!

  • My Little Margie was one of my favorite shows

as I was growing up. Gale was a wonderful talented lady

  • @dekiser Mine too!!!

  • Gale's particular talent is she could take literally any song and make it better than it was. People forget she covered Frankie Lyman's "Why Do Fools Fall in Love" and had a big hit with it even though her trained soprano would certainly seem to have nothing to with r & b and rock. Her "Ivory Tower" covered the Cathy Carr single and sold almost as well.

  • It's also interesting that both Gale and Bonnie Guitar recorded and had hits with the song Dark Moon...and both were on Dot label.

  • Here's the story on that. Dot acquired the Bonnie Guitar version from the small Fabor label. It was an immediate country hit. Randy Wood, who owned Dot, based that label's success largely on cover records. Almost all of Gale's hits were covers of other artists' new releases. She was so good at what she did she'd have top 10 hits with her versions. Wood wanted her to cover "Dark Moon" but she had misgivings about appropriating a label mate's music. Wood told her Bonnie said do it.

  • I'm sorry to say, I didn't hear of her until her death.

  • seems like all my child memories of people that were very special to me or dying, farrah, micheal, ed , david, ohn it's been a very depressing month

but these are the people I will always remember, RIP Gale you were beautiful and wonderful.

  • Farewell "My Little Margie with the voice of a nightingale, we will miss your beauty and humor. LadODell I agree she was mine too. R,I.P.

  • I hadn't known that MS Storm had left us...I'm sad to hear that. She was once a close neighbor of another fine singer who left us, Miss Gisele MacKenzie.

  • RIP mighty Gale Storm-

  • R.I.P. Gale

  • Rest in Peace xo

  • Rest in peace, Gale

  • RIP miss gale storm

  • RIP, Gale :'(
