@Adamwinters Right before the act end music starts playing and before the sign stops spinning, jump. If you're off the right side of the screen and in the air as the music starts, boom - controllable Sonic. Works in Sonic 2 also.

@mariox901 I'm not sure, because some later zones such as Spring Yard and Star Light have rings right in your way, though it might be possible, probably with TAS.
