it's not the same thing never was, to be able to wrestle is to be able to go hold for hold, move for move, then to be able to entertain is showmanship. I hate how people are starting to mix the two, I used to wrestle for school and I'm an actor. I know how to wrestle and entertain I can make my wrestling entertaining but they are no way the same thing. If that's the case shit wrestling deserves to die.

It IS the same thing, since when have the number of moves a wrestler does have any factor in making them good or not? Wrestling isn't a real sport, it's entertainment. Companies such as TNA, ROH, and WWE are all for profit companies, that mean's they all need money to survive. And good wrestlers do not make their company money by going hold for hold, move for move. That's not only boring but also incredibly stupid. If I wanted to watch that, I'd watch the Olympics.

since when? since the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and so on, depends on who you ask that question. ROH isn't all about entertainment most of their main stars do go hold for hold, move for move to make a good match. Same with Japan, Mexico in which they use a lot of their moves and matches to tell a story, the british wrestling, yea TNA and WWE tend to focus more on entertainment there's a number of other companies that focus on the physical/sport of it all to entertain the audiences.

A good match is comprised of more than just pointless moves. Workrate, selling, psychology are more important than technique (in any style of pro wrestling). Professional Wrestlers (in the US at least) are trying to put on a show and not trying to mimic the NCAA's or Olympics or UFC. Two guys just beating on each other does nothing, the match has to have emotion, an even flow, and most importantly (still talking about US wrestling, not Japanese) the look of realism.

dude, technique goes into just about every match workrate, psychology, selling, all go hand in hand ok. That's what makes a wrestling in the business, guy's who had good workrate, psychology, and selling goes to guys like The Rock, Stone Cold, Jake Roberts who's psychology helped pave the way for people like Austin. Greats like Angle, Benoit, Malenko, Storm, Lynn, Danielson, Regal,and even Guerrero (RIP) great wrestlers who have/had technique, workrate, selling, and psychology.

Pointless moves in my opinion goes to shit like the fuckin samoan spike, kozlov's headbutt, five knuckle shuffle, khali's chop, Hogan's Legdrop, though I do love it The People's Elbow, shit like that is pointless and or stupid man. Great to watch but seriously after a while it gets dry. Main reason I appreciate technique that helps bring moves together man. Two guys beating the crap out of eachother can be good to watch to see who has more in them.

My point was that a wrestler doesn't need to do a bunch of fancy moves in order to put on a good match. And on that note, not only technical wrestlers are classified as good wrestlers. A wrestler like Hulk Hogan can be just as good as a wrestler like Bret Hart

And no, seeing two guys go at it for 20 minutes chopping the shit out of a willing partner is stupid.

you're right you don't need it to put on a good match, you just need it to be put on a great match. Hogan was good, but Hart was great big difference in those two. This whole argument is on opinion neither one arguments have any crucial fact and the sad thing is this has nothing to do with Ashley Lane.
