  • of course they had to use an Asian orchestra....no one else can keep up with yngwie xD

  • yngwie just got burned on house, lol

"But ability isn't always enough. Just ask Yngwie Malmsteen".

  • Fk all u yngwie haters yall can go eat dick...its all about yngwie fuckers!!!!nobody can top his style nd thats word!!!!

  • Nothing can ever be said about Yngwie's talent...NEVER. It's beyond questioning..,BUT, i'd like to see him playing a little slower, so we could actually hear the notes alright. I thing people would be surpised with his music.

    That's too bloody fast mate....

  • If you could extract the guitar track from this clip and superimpose it on any backing track, metal, "classical", country and western, whatever, you would still find people who would claim it was amazing. Yes he is playing scales and arpeggios here at lightning speed (as always) but as music to actually listen to this is drivel.

  • He has his own style and he has fun instead of being an uptight asshole that judges every single thing he hears. None of you come close to Yngwie so just stfu alright? He knows what hes doing.

  • It's just a bunch of shlop.

  • He was such a badass on his prime-time, he's the most arrogant guitarist ever, and I hate him a lot, but it seems that I can never hate his musicality. Lol so fuck you Malmsteen and god bless.

  • @asianaxeman Yngwie, has ability, bit he lacks the feeling and the drive to make music that people of all types can relate to. That's the goal, to get as Many as possible to like it. He just shreds. That's why people like Vai and EVH are better...

  • poor orchestra people....they can barely keep up with him

  • This is so shitty I can't stop lauging.

  • what song is this?

  • @xAL310x trilogy suite op 5

  • @legendmetal50 Very thanks! ^^

  • Fantaziye bak :D

  • What i like about Yngwie is he actual seems to enjoy what he is playing :D And i respect him a lot for that ^^ Many shredders out there just look bored and stuff :o

He likes the music he makes, and is able to play it with an orchestra, and if other people like it they can hear it too, so it's all good :D

  • everyone is bashing yngwie here but he is one of if not the smartest people when it comes to music, yes he extremely fast but you can hear every not he is playing and he has revolutionized music into what has become a lot of heavy metal

  • boring

  • that must be so boring to be able to play that fast .........

  • Nice finger exercises but I don't hear much music being played.

  • Well... I don't know.. weull yes... ammmm Interisting... Overdose

  • He kinda overdoes it around 2:00ish. Shoulda let the orchestra play a bit more during that part. Little break from the shredding.

  • Malmsteen compose like Barroque style at the introduction. Cool!

  • if you guys don't like it/why listen to it..go listen to your remixed house or Paris hilton, everyone has the right to try anything

  • Superb

  • Oh no. I'm gonna vomit.

  • barocco all'inverosimile.

  • token xylophone shot at 2.12

  • Yngwie is such a badass.....

  • on the other hand he looks like a bloated european Jack White.....

  • Wow it seems that so many of you assholes have never really listened to classical music before...pompous bullshit was always part of it .....paganini probably used way too many notes for someone.....damn you fucking do it...(and i am not a big malmsteen fan but you armchair musicians make him look like a humble man which his formerly coked out alchoholic ass never was..)lets hear and see you write record and perform this shit...obviously these classical big shots agreed to play with him

  • fuck buckethead.. anyways paul gilbert taught that fuck how to play.. shame on you paul.. tisk tisk

  • what's the name of this song?

  • Sweden & America vs Japan

  • he has technical skill, but its just not very musical, its gotten to the point where he just trying to fit in as many notes as he can, and its distracting. as the late, great Les Paul said, "All you need is one note"

  • @Benderbot50 Well you know... he's more a Stratocaster guy xD

  • @Benderbot50 I agree with you, many simple guitar riffs can sound better than this song played with Malmsteen (which is totally useless by the way). The orchestra should have done it without him, it would be less annoying. The only good part for me is at 1:45. Great guitar skills are shown so if that was the goal, he did it.

  • @Benderbot50 it amazes how many bozos who can't play guitar spout your nonsense all over the place. Keep wishing you can play even 1% of Yngwie's ability one -note boy.

  • @asianaxeman I can play, so you're very wrong. And I recognize that Yngwie has a lot of ability, I just feel that he abuses it. There are good and bad ways to use fast technique, I feel that this is an example of a bad way. It makes him look like a pompous asshole.

  • @Benderbot50 Ability isn't everything, I agree....but Yngwie speaks when he plays. You KNOW it's him when he's playing, and developing a recognizable persona is what music is all about. Something that only the one playing can relate with whether or not others like it.

  • @Benderbot50 i see yout point, but doesnt this entertain you equally? i mean as other music?

  • he is amazing. but as skill i would say BUCKETHEAD > all ( as a skill not melody )

  • @WutangClan4LiF3 Petrucci and Batio > Buckethead

  • @msods hahahaha bullshit! they are technical and musically advanced with speed sure, but music isn't all out of a book. Buckethead not only has the knowledge as well, but the creativity to advance the norm of what people consider "music." The ability to create his own style is virtuoso. not saying its not true for petrucci and batio but gimme a break, they sound practically the same sometimes!

  • true master of guitar, only he, sadriani and batio

    the elite three...

  • @GreekPiranha

why is it that everybody thinks that michael angelo baito is such a good guitarist? In my opinion he totally sucks. I mean take a look at Rob Marcello or Matthew Mills for example. They're way better than baito.

  • i only like his bends, he cannot keep his speed with the tempo

  • there is a better one of this, type in "yms". you will hear yngwie's true genius

  • Magic !!!

    1.000.000 Star

    Serena

  • He's a twat but I do enjoy this stuff with the orchestra purely because I am a guitarist and a fan of classical music.

  • no.. di più!!

  • INCREDIBILE!!!!!!

  • I wonder if he knows how to play a barre chord?

  • I really don't like his sound, but he is damn fast...

  • What a feeling. So fluent. Who can sweep or pick that beautiful ?

I'm not a big M's fan but his feeling is awesome even if he's only playing fast. I can't listen to him for a long time but that's amazing.

  • He is fast only

  • aahahahh...why playing on a jam, when you can have an orchestra?

  • I'm not a big Yngwie Malmsteen fan, and I haven't really been interested in most of his stuff - it's too cheesy most of the time. But to be honest, this sounds pretty good, it's catchy, it has a groove, there's no cheesy singer to ruin it. Overall, if he played stuff more like this I would probably listen to him more, but he doesn't though. Like I said, I'm not a big fan of his, but I can't deny his ability as a musician, ego or not.

  • let me guess you like that wanna be metal with the idiotic screaming?

  • Soooo lame

  • If he fell off his Ego he would break his neck. I used to admire him. Now i just think hes a Twat.

  • Malmsteen has become a pastishe of himself - I laughed sooooo hard when I heard this.....

  • steve vai,joe santriani and john petrucci paly circules around yngwie lol

  • not really....yngwie is really good....good enought o where even if some one is better its not THAT much better

  • Paul Gilbert , Jason Becker , Marty Friedman , MAB , Rusty Cooley and the list goes on.

  • Good lord! That's the worst, least musical, load of unmitigated drivel I've ever had the misfortune to hear.

Given a choice between listening to this and say, being repeatedly hit in the nuts with a house brick, I would pick the mortar-torture every time

  • Post a vid of that please.

  • lmfao

  • Mucho criticar pero casi nadie es capaz d tocar tan bien como el con esa rapidez y precision. Unicamente jason becker y batio.

  • Muy bien dicho. Te felicito por tu comentario. Yngwie rules.

  • this is sick

  • he is THE perfect guitarist, whether u say he sucks or doesnt play in-tune/out of time e.t.c, no1 can beat him, its a fact.

  • He is not the perfect guitarist, Becker was able to do Malmsteen apreagio at age of 6 on all the strings while malmsteen was only doing it on 4 of them, but i agree he is a god guitarist!

  • damn, i was really hoping this would be better...but it just didnt work.

  • he should try playing in time

  • This fails even as spectacle ( which I hope is Malmsteen's intention ). Playing in a certain scale does not make you a good interpreter of baroque music. Horrible guitar tone. I feel sorry for the orchestra. Though one good thing did come out of this -> the ST Anders video.

  • lol, this is almost as funny as StSanders version. GJ

  • why there's orchestra if the guitar doesn't let hear all the noumerous elements?!

  • Don't make statements that you CLEARLY DO NOT understand AND that are WRONG, unless you enjoy being an ASS!

Yngwie only OCCASIONALLY plays Pentatonic minor! He spends most of his time playing within the scales (except in guitar-friendly keys like "Am" & "Em".) that most Baroque music was known for: Harmonic Minor, Phrygian Dominant, (the 5th-degree mode of Harmonic Minor.) YJM's motifs usually include fast scale runs, arpeggios (minor, major, and diminished) and pedal-tone sequences.

    NOOB!

  • its all the same =S? You must be deaf. And its Harmonic minor he's well known for using, and is a pioneer of shred and neo-classical if you don't mind, so pay some respect noob.

  • Its becoming boring because its lacking the melody and something that attracts you. Try Steve Vai - for the love of god alonside the holland metropole orc

  • he's know for harmonic minor more than anything else

  • mh...could someone tell yngwie that playing fast does not mean, that it sounds good? and he just plays over the orchestchtra..no harmony at all..at least in my eyes...

  • hes the concert master, hes supposed to, its no different if it were a violinist, it just happens to be MR.Malmsteen

  • There's a reason that the great improvisers rely on the pentatonic. It has to do with harmony, something Malmsteen understands better than Metheny or any shredder.

  • Hahah, you're a joke.

  • svengollyg: "Malmsteen understands better than Metheny..."

    R U serious?

Yes, Blues & Rock improvisers use Pentatonics, due to harmonic ambiguity associated with Dominant Blues (minor & major tonalities mixed together simultaneously!) and the vague harmonic chord quality of ROCK Power-chords (NOT major or minor! NO 3rds!)

Also, you CLEARLY have NO IDEA just how BRILLIANT Pat Metheny is! He can talk musical CIRCLES around Yngwie, but DO NOT TALK SHIT!

    DUMBASS NOOB!

  • Did you really mean that Metheny can TALK musical circles around Malmsteen? What are you saying, that Metheny's music is better than it sounds?

  • svengoolyg,

NO! I LOVE listening to Yngwie, and as much as I respect Metheny's accomplishments, knowledge, and abilities, I CAN'T STAND listening to his music. Different strokes, correct?!?

Anyways, I was ONLY talking about musical knowledge and understanding. Yngwie is a student of 17th-century baroque music, and some post-Hendrix & Deep Purple prog-rock!

Metheny is a walking & talking musical encyclopedia!

Go read interviews with both and then tell me what you think!

  • I'm aware of modern attempts to re-invent the principles of harmony as they were understood in the 17th century. That you admire the fact that Metheny is up to date on all that but still find his music unlistenable is something you should consider, different strokes or no. My point was that, imho, Malmsteen is an artist posing as a pop star, while Metheny is the opposite.

  • So you think YJM is an artist posing as a "pop-star," and Metheny is a "pop-star" posing as an artist?

    I'm confused?

I don't think either one of these ARTISTS is POSING as anything?!? They are stylistic opposites, but both are excellent and generally highly regarded in their respective genres.

Also, I never aid Metheny was "unlistenable!" I (should've) said that I couldn't stand listening to his SONGS, not his playing! There's a HUGE difference, right? PM is very listenable to others!

  • You win. Malmsteen really IS a mad Viking who summons the fires of hell to slay the magical dragon.

    What was I thinking..??

  • Malmsteen is magic

  • imho- no other shredder can play that fluently and melodically through such complex chord changes. Under all that pose is a serious musician of the first rank.

  • wonderful

  • dude ill bet when he's not practicing guitar, this guy sits in front of a mirror and eats cake and masterbates all day. part of me actually thinks he's deaf, like he doesn't understand that music is supposed to "sound good". he's plays guitar like it's a sport, not an art. fuck yngwie malmsteen.

  • dude you are a comic genious.

  • He plays guitar like a sport coz hes a natural and he's so fuckin good.

  • Completely agree with Guitarfan0000. This is laughable, sounds horrible and is a feat of athleticism only.

  • wow

  • bello

  • is this "Far Beyond the sun"?

  • It's Trilogy Suite Op.5

  • thank you

  • Yea, I'm not sure, but I think that the 1st violinist committed Hara-kiri after the concert. He was thinking, "I've studied all the masters, practiced 14 hours a day, have a Stradivarius for God's sake (not to be confused with the Lord's Rice Wine (nihonshu or sake)), and this fat, leather, fluffy Seinfeld shirt wearing freak comes in here, and I've got to play this crap....", so he felt that he had dishonored his family and had to shove the knife into his belly. [HA!]

    (...but I liked it :D)

  • Bassfreqq is that an elaborate joke or are you serious lol.

  • 'tis a little of both :D I think that the 1st violinist wanted to kill himself, but luckily, the next week, Pat Metheny and Russell Malone showed up and showed him that people can actually play more than minor pentatonics on the guitar ;D

  • Haha.

  • @bassfreqq xD dude that was awesome

  • wow that was amazing

  • i really admire how he plays because all buckethead ever soes is play music using sound effects and making up random stuff on the guitar thats not natural... Yngwies the best ive seen so far! =)

  • you've a lot to see then! you should totally check out John Petrucci, he may not play as many notes per second, but he certainly has melody and much more musical structure than Yngwie.

  • I agree. There are plenty of guitar players who can play just as fast, but sounding like shit while doing it means nothing. John can play just as fast if not faster, but sounds excellent. Yngwie is one of my least favorite players because he is nothing but speed and crappy tone.

  • Technically marvelous, but artistically bankrupt. He's been playing the same minor harmonies for 25 years now.

  • man i really felt bad for the orchestra at the beginning, must of been hard to know when to come in cause the tempo was alittle off at the beginning.

  • Thats what the job of the conductor is. Piano players and violinists who perform solo acts before a piece of concerto are essentially doing the same thing with the orchestra as a whole. Classical vocalists as well.

  • poor audio but good performance!

  • i feel not match, haha.

but i still like malmsteen as he is one of the best.

  • That was incredible

  • everyone has a right to their own opinion I thought it was good yet others might think it sucked who cares?!.

  • wow how dare u guys insult the master of guitars...

  • nice, but I don't like that he plays fast all the time.. u get bored of listening him after the first song...

  • awesome..
