  • im 12 and i still havnt got my first deer yet. we went hunting on black friday and we saw 3 deer 2 does and 1 buck but they all were to far away

  • @TheWolfFilms

Be patient, stay at it, and you will be rewarded. Sometimes it can be difficult, this past year I only harvested one whitetail and helped all my buddies drag theirs!

  • Is there really much difference with the managed recoil rounds? My son is ready to move up from a rimfire to a centerfire and was wondering if they are worth the trouble

  • @SwitchbackXThunter

I noticed a significant difference between the Managed Recoil and normal ammunition in 30-06. I would compare the managed recoil to either a 7.62x39mm or a 30-30 Winchester cartridge.

  • Your not expose to shoot it in the gutts you need to shoot it in the lungs or hart or spine or neck bone.

  • @kissmygritz98

That is correct. She actually shot this whitetail in the neck which immobilized it immediately.

  • Hey man what size are your ears stretched to?

  • I remember last year when i was 14 and i got my first year, best adrenaline rush in the world and ive done some pretty stupid shit. Come up to Canada for some huge bucks :D

  • She had that "hunter's grin" that all successful first time hunters have and how ALL hunters should have every time they're blessed enough to be out enjoying God's creation. Congratulations young lady and I wish you many more successful hunts in the future.

  • that deer trail looked more like a motorcycle trail

  • @jayjohnson4x4

There were cattle on the property as well. Trail has quite a bit of traffic.

  • Part of being a good hunter is also being a political activist and staying alert to the forces of evil that would remove or harm our second amendment rights. We must reject ALL political operatives who are not pro-gun/gun friendly and reject all those who would shame us for teaching our kids about responsible gun ownership. Be aware of Sec. of State Hillary Clinton's support of the U.N. Small Arms Treaty. Pure evil.

  • @drewartist: this too is an accurate appraisal of gun calibers/experience.

Back in the day I used a Remington .30-06 with 125 gr bullets to varmint hunt or I could put a larger 180 gr. bullet for larger game too. Now I prefer the .22 calibers for most of what I hunt, although I did use my .308 this year for Whitetail. The beauty of our country is that we still have remarkable choice and freedom to explore guns and ammo when compared to other countries and governments.

  • reverseL u can get a doe permit

  • arent you not aloud to shoot does?

  • @ReverzeL

In Nebraska the state actually prefers hunters to harvest does instead of bucks for population control. The deer population is at an all time high here.

  • @ReverzeL not in some states

  • so much for "creeping" haha

  • I'm starting to hunt deer next year and I wanted to know if someone could tell me some calibers with low recoil

  • @Thejnairsoft

Lots of great calibers to choose from. I like .270 winchester and .30-06 springfield, .30-30 caliber is also a good choice for a lever action rifle. Remington ammunition company makes a "reduced recoil" ammunition which I used last year in two different .30-06 Springfield caliber hunting rifles (Marlin XL7) and (CVA Optima Elite).

  • @Thejnairsoft @yq397r Those are all pretty big calibers, I have a small .270 that's very compact and I keep it ready at all times if I see a deer near the house. But I always hunt with a .308, it's able to kill a deer at 200+ yards and has virtually no recoil.

  • @Logcuterman2 Hello I don't know if you've tried your .308 out any farther than that, but I've shot mine at 450yrd's I measured it with my rangefinder and with hornady 164 grain bullets it only drops about 12 inches so aim at the top of its shoulder at 300 and farther and you've got that deer just wanted to let you know the performance our rifle's can do.

  • @deerslayinfoo99 Yes, I just said 200+ because I didn't want to get flamed by people saying it's irresponsible to shoot that far. The .308 is a great round :P

  • @Thejnairsoft I've killed dozens of deer with a Winchester .243 Model 70 Featherweight. Light, little kick, very nice gun. A .243 is plenty, so long as you make sure you hit them in the boiler (double lung/heart). I've even dropped a few with it. Most don't run very far.

  • @Thejnairsoft cal. .223, 7mm.-.08. .243 are all good low recoil deer hunting calibers. Remember, shot placement is more critical than gun caliber. I kill big hogs with .22 mag and .22 hornet using shot placement technique for quick and efficient kills.

  • @biggyrat57 Right on the money. Good shot placement with a rapidly expanding lower caliber is the way to go. 7mm-08 is perfect for Whitetail.

  • @Thejnairsoft I prefer .243 low recoil but great knockdown

  • @Thejnairsoft id say 243 the best

  • @Thejnairsoft

If you have an opportunity, ask friends what cal rifles they use and ask them if they wouldn't mind taking you out to shoot. You might be surprised to find out that larger caliber like a 30.06 doesn't kick that bad. I would look at 243, 7.62x39, 30-30, 308, 270 and 30.06. You will be surprised with some bench shooting, that a large caliber rifle is not that bad with experience. You can even look into shotguns. If you are more comfortable with 20g or 12g, then think slug gun.

  • Nice job

  • A pretty kule day in the woods.

A beauty big Doe and a first time hunt...nice work and congrats!

All smiles and loving it...she can really say she can take care of her and hers now!

    Thumbs up.

  • Nice! Congrats on your first of many. Uncle Ted would be proud haha. Sweet red fox footage too!

  • Congratulations Kristina! You captured the rush on camera very nicely.

  • The scope is a Barska Ridgeline 3-9x42mm with 2" sun shade.

  • what kina scope is she running on her rifle

  • @PAfreshwaterangler

The scope is a Barska Ridgeline 3-9x42mm with 2" sun shade.

  • @yq397r how much did it cost and what caliber rifle

  • @xxL3GITxSNIPEZxx

It is a CVA Optima Elite with a 30-06 springfield center fire barrel. The firearm was purchased new for about $450.00 without the scope.
