@RsEctil I dunno about holding his own; I think if you look closely at it, Goku was actually losing pretty badly. He did fight evenly with Kid Buu, though, which makes me think that Super Buu (Gotenks) is actually the stronger one. Gohan also managed to hold his own against Buu at first, until Buu started playing psychological games with him.
Of course, this is at a stage where Goku doesn't have much experience with SSJ3; if he'd been able to control it, who knows how strong he'd be?
@ianmathwiz7 kid buu is the strongest of all forms, its even said in the show when he transforms into it, and ur right about goku not being able to control ssj3, its just to much of a power drain for him at this point of the show.

Vegeta explicitly states they will push them right up to their very limits. Or in other words. Give most of their ki. Gohan did and it still wasn't enough. These comments are stupid. Half of you don't even know the difference between mystic and regular Gohan. Mystic Gohan is much much much stronger than his ssj2 form. It's like all his power right there on the surface. Gohan was whipping Super Buu's ass, whereas Goku wouldn't have had a chance. He even said something close to this in the anime, why else would he have the poraras ready to fuse with Gohan after Gotenks had been absorbed?

Gohan could never go ss3, the best Gohan could do is a ss2, and that was only when he was really mad. Also during the majin buu saga, mystic Gohan was no match for buu, while ss3 goku could go toe to toe with buu and match his speed and strength.

@pakl123456 ss3 Gotenks is not stronger than ss3 Goku. Gotenks although he is a fusion is still a child, and both Trunks and Goten have power levels only slightly stronger than Frieza. So combined they are about as powerful as ss1 Goku after recovering from the heart disease during the Android saga. At ss3 Gotenks is powerful, but Goku in ss3 is waaayyyy more powerful. And also Gohan is a ss2, during the Cell saga he goes ss2 to defeat Cell.

In the buu saga, Goku didn't practice super saiyan 3 enough and because of that the transformation makes him really worn out. So technically yes Ultimate Gohan is stronger.

It said it in the manga, the anime, and even Toriyama said it himself. Remember, Sayain blood mixed with human blood is far superior than just pure Sayain blood (I think Vegeta or Goku said that). Gohan owned Super Buu without even trying, SSJ3 Gotenks and Super Buu were equal, and Goku's about the same as SSJ3 Gotenks. And that's a fact.

Remember, Goku said he couldn't beat Super Buu on his own, yet Gotenks was equal with Buu. But, here's the other factor. Goku is a more experienced fighter. So, in terms of power, SSJ3 Gotenks is more powerful, but in terms of skill, Goku wins that. So in a fight, though Gotenks has the advantage, Goku still has a shot.

Do you all realize how powerful Mystic Gohan is? Super Buu beats SS3 Goku, SS3 Gotenks is stronger than Super Buu. Mystic Gohan was on par with Super Buu WITH Gotenks absorbed. SS3 Goku isn't even in the same league.
Impossible. While it is true that Gohan would win the fight, SSJ3 Goku has a stronger initial damage output than he does. Goku would hold the upper hand at the beginning of the fight, but as the form became harder to maintain, Gohan would gain the advantage. Goku would need to defeat Gohan in the first five minutes of the fight in order to have any chance of winning.

@RsEctil I dunno about holding his own; I think if you look closely at it, Goku was actually losing pretty badly. He did fight evenly with Kid Buu, though, which makes me think that Super Buu (Gotenks) is actually the stronger one. Gohan also managed to hold his own against Buu at first, until Buu started playing psychological games with him.
Of course, this is at a stage where Goku doesn't have much experience with SSJ3; if he'd been able to control it, who knows how strong he'd be?

Gohan could never go ss3, the best Gohan could do is a ss2, and that was only when he was really mad. @pakl123456 ss3 Gotenks is not stronger than ss3 Goku. Gotenks although he is a fusion is still a child, and both Trunks and Goten have power levels only slightly stronger than Frieza. So combined they are about as powerful as ss1 Goku after recovering from the heart disease during the Android saga. At ss3 Gotenks is powerful, but Goku in ss3 is waaayyyy more powerful. And also Gohan is a ss2, during the Cell saga he goes ss2 to defeat Cell.

@patrick22014 Yes but Goku was tired and worn out by the time he battled Kid Buu. So you couldn't really compare the two fighters unless they both just ate a sensu bean, or rested for a few days. But Gotenks was fresh and rested when he battled Super Buu and he still got absorbed......... >___<

In the buu saga, Goku didn't practice super saiyan 3 enough and because of that the transformation makes him really worn out. So technically yes Ultimate Gohan is stronger.

@pakl123456 Look homie, we can argue about this all day and not solve anything. All I know is, Buu didn't go all out on Gotenks and Gotenks didn't go all out on Buu. And Piccolo was the one who said they were about equal. And just cause they added some lines in the anime doesn't make it filler. Hell, the only filler in DBZ was the Garlic Jr. Saga and the otherworld saga from what I remember. So, you believe whatever you wanna believe and I'll stick with my beliefs. See ya later.

People still argue over who's stronger? After all this time?? Come on people, it's a fact that Gohan is the most powerful unfused character in Z. It said it in the manga, the anime, and even Toriyama said it himself. Remember, Sayain blood mixed with human blood is far superior than just pure Sayain blood (I think Vegeta or Goku said that). Gohan owned Super Buu without even trying, SSJ3 Gotenks and Super Buu were equal, and Goku's about the same as SSJ3 Gotenks. And that's a fact.

@Ne0MT Okay you just really confused me with all your strange numbers and stuff. But, the fact is, Goku said it himself that Gotenks was far more skilled at SSJ3 than he was. Remember, Goku said he couldn't beat Super Buu on his own, yet Gotenks was equal with Buu. But, here's the other factor. Goku is a more experienced fighter. So, in terms of power, SSJ3 Gotenks is more powerful, but in terms of skill, Goku wins that. So in a fight, though Gotenks has the advantage, Goku still has a shot.

@pakl123456 Yeah he is but the fact is you gotta take into account that Goku is an expert martial artist and has fought far longer than Gotenks or Buu has. I mean, overall he's weaker than Super Buu but not much weaker, but he does possess more skill. But Gohan is far stronger than Goku and actually has really good fighting skill as well. So, if going by actual strength:
Mystic Gohan
Super Buu and SSJ3 Gotenks
SSJ3 Goku
But in a fight strength doesn't always determine the outcome.

Do you all realize how powerful Mystic Gohan is? Super Buu beats SS3 Goku, SS3 Gotenks is stronger than Super Buu. Mystic Gohan was on par with Super Buu WITH Gotenks absorbed. SS3 Goku isn't even in the same league.

Impossible. While it is true that Gohan would win the fight, SSJ3 Goku has a stronger initial damage output than he does. Goku would hold the upper hand at the beginning of the fight, but as the form became harder to maintain, Gohan would gain the advantage. Goku would need to defeat Gohan in the first five minutes of the fight in order to have any chance of winning.
