I LOVE the way the skin tones are achieved but the hair kind of kills it for me. It feels like I can see every strand of hair on the head instead of shapes of light tone and color. Really great overall though.

i think doing it on photoshop is way harder, its easier to control a brush stroke than a mouse, lol, but of course theres alot more advantages in doing it on a computer, such as locking certain frames etc

You don't make the paint transparent. ^-^ You just have to make a transparent layer and put it under your original lineart then start coloring. It makes it seems as if the paint is transparent when it is actually just under. Hope I helped. :)

on the brush settings you should see "opacity". opacity sets the transparency of the brush. =)

This is really good! And drawing BoA is extremely difficult, just because her face shape is difficult to capture. However, no offense intended.... this just doesn't have that "omphf" factor that truly amazing pictures have. I'm not saying it's bad.... it's good, but that's the thing. I guess it doesn't matter if this is just for fun, but it lacks that refinement that takes it to a whole new level. But, you clearly have a solid knowledge of drawing and all you need to do is practice

Well, let's see, I've been drawing since I was nine, took lessons in China for a summer everyday, classes running from 8: 30 in the morning to 11:30 at night, was taught basics at five by my grandfather, have entered contests, skipped drawing levels, was voted most artistic in school.... have a deviantart account under Lilth11.... actually, I do believe I draw. Besides, what's wrong with constructive criticsm? That's how you grow as an artist, not through flattery.

Isn't art self-taught anyhow? Even if you get lessons.... in the end, it's just practise. Besides... practice or not.... every artist should be doing the best they can with EVERY drawing. I give constructive criticism on where I think improvements can be made; up to you to take it or leave it. That's all.

Trying your best everytime pushes your limits and forces you to improve. *shrugs* At least, that's what I think. Even when you just have to get an idea out of your head, afterwards, you should look at it seriously, critique it, and then get back to working on it. But then again, that could just be me...

Look back on it when you have free time? Then, you've got fresh eyes and can pick out mistakes. And I'm guilty of not finishing my drawings a lot, but hey, that's because they don't live up to my expectations.

Ah, but looking at your old stuff can help you see if you're style has changed or matured. Some people's technical skills improve greatly, but their subjects, their style remains safe. Thus, comparing your recent works to old ones can still help you grow.
