If you like a thin sounding distortion...yea pick up a krank. They no real bottom end...no chunk to em. I have heard them all personally in music stores and live on stage....trust me..they suck. Get a Peavey or a Madison

umm...yea they are shitty sounding....of course unless you have all kinds of rack mount effects an some equalizers running through it. By their selves they sound like shit! Like I said....I have heard MANY OF THEM....LIVE and in the Studio. Ill admit they sound better in the studio...because you can add stuff to them when mastering. Brendon Small uses a Krank...but he runs a Line 6 pedal for his tones. The Krank is only used for the Cabinet and used as a Poweramp. Krank = Thin

What fucks the MTM1 are the standard Seymour Duncan blackouts. When it was loaded with EMGs it used to sound tight as hell. I don't know now, 'cause Mick Thomson has his own signature Blackouts, it might sound a little better.
