  • I am a visitor from another planet, can someone please explain to me why some of you humans hate other humans just because their skin is a different shade to yours ?

  • How do you have the audacity to assume that this song has anything to do with hispanic gangs or the art work therein...get a fuckin'life.

  • fucking beautiful it's called soul for a reason

  • when david ruffin comes it it always gives me chills, dont know why but it always does

  • @mrGH96 no you wish it was now so you can have moments in life where you can imagine false projected realites in the form of youre vision of an era

  • @mrGH96 what doe's age sex or skin color have to do with real music?

  • This beautiful song paints it's own picture. I'll never forget the first time I played the 45 on my parents record player by myself as a child and sat and listened to the words. I sat there and cried. It was so sad and yet so beautiful. I'm almost 50 and still tear up every time I hear this song. Peace

  • I just looked up The Temptations, and it says they are a full American group. So what's up with all the mexican (not to be racist, I'm mexican) pictures?

I don't know the relations between mexicans and black people in U.S but many mexico like this and others from 70's were popular mexico too like disco inferno, it's sad the racism but I believe someday we can be brothers and sisters

  • @supernatural2029 It's only ignorant Mexicans and blacks that are in street gangs that say that, or people who are followers and can't think for themselves. It's drug and money related.

  • @CoolConejo you sound like a biggot

  • @blkazn77 You do know i was Referring tho Mexicans that hate blacks. and blacks that hate Mexicans. it's gang related. Generally, Mexicans don't hate blacks and viseversa

  • doesnt matter what the color is, sound does not involve colors. its called bringin the world together for a better good. and this right here is a good example on how to bring the people together.

  • mexican art + black music = nice outcome. your artistic drawings and depictions are sophisticated and admirable and our music is a perfect compliment. i love all of it but i've never understood the animosity.

  • @dannywaynepierce YEAH MAN!!!!!! Good is good.

  • When this song was #1 on the Billboard--- I was in boot camp at Ft. Polk Louisiana. We had some brothas that would get together every night and jam to a small stereo we had. That was 4 decades ago.

  • @mynameismeowth This is the Temptations. Smokey had nothing to do with this song.

  • @luvureally

lmao sorry i was just rambling. i havent heard this stuff since i was like 9 or 10 and i think my family told me it was smoky robinson singing. i still have a lot to learn about the old motown stuff. as i keep listening ill learn more

  • great song and im not G but damn mexican gangsters look sick from animation. drinking to this music makes the proof drop by half. 100 proof drops to 50proof, etc

  • We look happy but we are sad! So, you are the only ones who are sad but can't express it. It's a mixed up world my friend. Don't Fuckin' tell me you are the only ones who are allowed to be sad or bitter! Every race has claim to that! I'm sorry,I hate clowns. Especially the scary ones drawn and filled in with pencil. • Wonderful, melodic music which puts racial differences where they should be-in the gutter with all those who practice racism.

  • get a life out there, and stop all the brother shit, and how hard things, weve all been there, just enjoy the music.

  • Just let your imagination soar and you soul will be free...we miss you, brothers.

  • it clarify what the clowns and zoot suits are, the meaning is a ode to the chicago culture that grew out of Southern California in places like East LA. This music was heavily listened to by the children of the migrant workers in the 40's 50's and 60's. Some of the people in this culture were gangsters but, the style was still apart of the culture.

  • @latenightheavy Hey idiot , the zoot suits actually started on the east coast and were associated with harlem and the jazz scene there before it was anywhere else

  • @BlacknesUnforgivable your stupid AF Zoot suits came from gansters... immigrant gangster all over the world

  • I could care less if any body are blue smurfs as long as they have a voice like the legends that sing these oldies, hell i don't care what color anybody is as long as they act like humans!!!

  • does it matter rather the pictures have Mexicans or blacks shidd just listen to the music

  • racist motherfuckers!!! why cant we all get along with a fat ass blunt

  • If the truth be known! There is only white music. If all you shades are arguing about your colours, then I claim all music for the white people, cause seems you dont appreciate it. GOD SAVE THE QUEEN!

  • i dont get the whole things with mexicans and clowns did the circus originate in mexico

  • the clown expression came from the girls eyebrows, i think@4playin69

  • @4playin69 Your youtube name is almost as stupid as your fucking question. Mexicans got alotta problems man we smile on the outside no matter whats goin on inside us. Like a Clown, laugh now cry later. We are a strong people.

  • @4playin69 aha you have no friend's

  • He's he is singing about WHITE girls, that micegenator.

  • It wasn't just their imagination. .... I was just gas.

  • People need to be more like music, color blind.

    Btw, love the art;)

  • Go listen to your own music messicans, take your wetback asses and listen to Selena.

  • @TheInfamousOne7 screw u thiz is mexican music y dont u go take ur white or black azz towhere u dont exzist

  • @IDCSignMYButt009 Lol Bwaha keep dreaming fucktard. The temptations are black which is black music. Go and try to make your own music messican. Lol "this is mexican music" what a fuckin idiot! Black people now you know why mexicans hate you, they even trying to claim your music with no shame at all bwahaha.

  • @TheInfamousOne79 actually the temptations were black trying to get into the respect of the then white music industry so in fact the "black" temptations were writing songs for a white audience and no way intended to be considered black music so before ever gets all racist on here, you should all just consider it some great songs that four guys sang the shit out of! (see how i just put four guys not four black guys? yeah thats cause there people just people)

  • @ricardothepimp212 They were trying to get the "attention" of the white audience. Motown paired soulful, gospel like vocals with a smooth, orchestral sound. This enabled them to keep their core Black audience and expand beyond that market. Motown did not have the raw sound of southern soul but Tempts and their label mates were as soulful as their southern counterparts, so they were not "writing songs for a white audience". Music created from Black cultural experience = Black music.

  • @IDCSignMYButt009 Temptations not mexicans, didn't sing mexican music. So this can't possibly be mexican music. It is for real BLACK music!

  • Nutn like oldiez(:

  • @mikeuir, nah it ain't a shame that rap has made it's way into chicano culture. i'am assuming that's what you mean by saying the "cholos and cholas." i'am not down with gang violence myself because that go against everything oldies even stand for; love. there ain't no love in gangster messing up their own people and community. increase the peace. stop the killing and chicano movement of self hate.

  • fuck all scrap as niggas that listen to this

  • Seriously...everyone is arguing about Mexico, Mexicans and all that....while listening to slow R&B? Can only one race like a particular type of music or something? The person just added pictures they liked, probably... Or did you guys have such a small attention spans, that you didn't notice pics of black people, too, or the beautiful picture at the end that says "Pray For Us." Just minimize the window and listen to the music if you intend to whine about the smallest things. :/

  • I remember back in the 70's and early 80's, all of the cholos and cholas used to listen to the oldies from the 50's and 60's. It's too bad that Rap took over. I thought that was one of the cooler things about the bangers back then.

  • the gang-imagery certainly sends a lovely sentiment

  • que pasa? cool video and even better song

  • I got out of high school in '69, so we share a lot of musical memories. To me, that was music as opposed to what we have now...noise!!

  • its just my imagination

  • Great Song!

  • Vatos Locos Homie

  • When this was on the charts in March, 1971, my g/f at the time made it our song...turns out it was Just Our Imagination...ah, the memories.

  • @catman5169 So many things in '71 were just my imagination,....sheesh. That's the year I got out of High School,......a child.

  • I love it........

  • Oldies but Goodies! ((:

  • @EliteBusJr you not black ...bitch.

  • Black love & Brown Pride

  • i like it how theres alot of stupid mexicans here

  • I love the drawings you have in your songs. They have so much to say,

  • @O19x20C yeah your probably right man.

  • when I was a kid, i grew up listening to this song. I knew every lyric, I could sing out any part of this song. Today, I mostly listen to rock (60's/70's), but whenever I hear this song, I sing it. always.

  • I've heard this song somewhere when I was little....It's the best song ever!

  • I'm a metal head till the end, but even i can sit back and enjoy the oldies...

  • thank you for being my friend from san antnio tx ramon e c/s you no how you are

  • Comment removed

  • Gangster.

  • WHAT are y'all talking about?! lol... this music trancends all races and culture. ENJOY it for what it is. GOOD MUSIC.

  • this song played at my mothers funeral and it gives me goosebumps because i chose it

  • Why do hispanics always get credited for all the oldies smooth music? No hurting any race in anyway.. but if you know the reality of it all it was blacks, and whites that made motown, not any hispanic, but if you cruise to this with the love of your life then good for you, in this day in age damn I do give you props, let's love the real music.

  • @pimppo312 but hispanics keep this shit alive man probably thats why

  • I don't care what color or religion you are. If you appreciate good music, like this, you are my friend. Music can transcend all barriers. I grew up in the 60's, in rural, white America. Motown was a staple of my world. CKLW on my transistor radio transported me to a world that didn't care about anything but good music.

  • damm love thiss shitt ritee here ..! my jefita alwayss bumpingg this jam .. !

  • Probably my favorite Temptation song which is sayin' a lot cos' geez they have so many great ones...but is the production touch of those 'runaway strings' that captured my imagination,

  • How in the world can this type of conversation occur with this beautiful music? This stuff is the essence of the kind of hope that runs through all of us in the name of beauty and grace. This stuff is beautiful! Bask in it! C'mon!

  • This is totally Amazing!

I grew up with this beautiful music and this was one of the songs we played when things got a bit hectic (for whatever reason), and it seemed to always chill people out regardless of the of type of static that was present!

    2011.........

Very interesting and very, sad to witness how a song that once invoked calm, peace and unity, now seems to have lost it's positive power!

Has the new generation has lost the ability to overcome the "Temptation" of HATE?!?

    Wake Up!

  • I love the Chicano/Chicana art form....Its very romantic..there's no difference in their loving black music the same as we do....beautiful songs transend race.....didn't you know.!

  • Released in January 1971 on Motown's Gordy Records label as Gordy 7105

  • Im a Proud Chicana Soul . Y QUE !

  • To the Racist Individual Above these comments. your Ghetto, first of all. Second of All African Americans And Mexican Americans Invented acapella DOOWOP ,Oldies ,etc. So get your fact's straight Honey !

  • @HALIHALAO Sorry, Mexicans had nothing to do with creation of doo wop, it is another Black created art form. Mexican Americans have their "own" oldies I'm sure, but soul/r&b, funk created by Blacks.

  • Wow Angelcatdadynkennedy you picked a good one

  • o0o0o0o0ohhhh yeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaa(;

  • I don't necessarily think the music has to represent the race from which it came. Music can be interpreted to mean anything to anyone.

  • 1. This is positive, decent music. why would you put photos of gangbanging shit on here.

    2. Im pretty sure this is a BLACK group. So why are there latino and brown pride pics on? it just makes no sense. Just saying, if there black pride pics on a latino song. everyone would flip shit

  • @toneomane711 It's because many Latinos hate Blacks, but love them at the same time. In other words, they hate the fact that they love Black music & culture, and they try most hard to somehow lay their claim to something that they had nothing to do with. It's all really hilarious to me. I mean, when's the last time you've seen Black art on a Chicano song? Probably Never.

  • SHUT UP WITH THE ARGUING OVER RACE AND LISTEN TO THIS BEAUTIFUL SONG

  • fuck everyone talkin down on us chicanos or gangbangers as u pendejos call us i bet we know more about this music then any of u putos...

  • it was just my imagination!! i miss you Holly !!

  • story of my life

  • Fuck these bangers, they don't know SHIT about oldies!... Fucking Low Life!

  • man wtf all u dumb ass people r stupid as shit mexicans were always bumpin this shit back then so? black people made this music look what there making now some wack ass bullshit dont be dissin on us mexicans cuz we the shit back then and no i swear all u lil ass pricks talking shit would get dealt with its to bad i cant woop yall lil fuck face faggot donkey fucking queers viva la raza u stupit cunt face faggot asss hoes! thats right bitch ass foos.

  • @unknown20126 You have so many contradictions in your statement. You said " dont be dissin on us mexicans cuz we the shit back then", but how does that make sense when obviously the music that you bump from "back then" is by BLACK artists. Since you love OUR music so much, why don't you just stop hating. If you love your "raza" so much, wouldn't it be smarter to just listen to the music from your "raza"? This is BLACK music, you better recognize!

  • @LeimertDreamer Enough with that mexican-black hate shit....just enjoy the damn music.

  • @AngryEyebrows96 I already enjoy the music.....so I know you're trying to be the good-guy here but I am totally allowed to say what I want and defend my culture and my culture's music. I would expect the same responses from people if I put some Black art to a Mariachi song.

  • @LeimertDreamer You have a point...but so what? If you really think about it, it does not matter at all....its music, theres nothing here involving racism, i come to these videos to get away from that shit, but no, we have people complaining about the pictures, and about the music....honestly i wouldn't give 2 shits if there was black art in mariachi songs. My theory is that the pictures, and the music are trying to bring together blacks and mexicans, but obviously, that isnt working.

  • Mexican pictures for a song by black people.. cuz THAT makes sense... -___-"

sikee. D:< gtfo. Ruining a good ass song! wtf?!

  • @MaddyB102 You're doing too much. Someone obviously gave you a opportunity to listen to a very great song and you dismantled it by making yourself subject to the details. How is it ruining a good song simply because it's a picture? Smh..

  • I Love This Song..I Know All The Words..Once I Listen To It I Gotta listen To It Again&Again!!

  • My moms favorite song <3. It's one of my favorites though.

  • Great song.

  • this is thee best black band ever this music today hip hop or rap TOTALY SUCKS
