  • DarthUno, they werent poor people forced to fight. they were brainwashed. if they didnt want to fight they could have surrendered. instead they died fighting. and russia deserves most honor? you sound like a typical soviet. we all deserve honor, japan and hitler had to be stopped and thats what we did. no country deserves more honor.

  • BE QUIET!!! I am trying to watch this trailer!

  • @everyone Honestly, You guys have no right to say " I Respect the Marines" Or " I Don't wanna see a Japanese view" why? Because as a Solder, if you Dishonor one, you Dishonor them all, A Solder fights because they a have a reason, and most of those reasons are the same as those they fight against, Saying things against either side, Proves you have no respect, and you are nothing more then a child who is ignorant, and misinformed.

  • I would like to see a mini series like Band of Brothers but from the germans point of view.

  • @MistahAwesome i agree

  • @jurisprudence1972 The soldiers dont choose if they want to take over a country or not. The leaders do. Soldiers bravely go out and fight on the field. So no matter how much you resent the Japenese, you CAN NOT deny their bravery and honor

  • @Rambler9Productions The Japanese soldiers had a habit of killing their own civilians to keep them from surrendering to the Americans so that they would not dishonor the emperor. They murdered women and children for HONOR. Is that really worth commemorating?

  • @Fork3 well USA did as much bad in Vietnam

  • @DarthUno Your comment is irrelevant to what I was discussing. Just like how it would be for me to point out that the Russian pilots that fought with the Vietnamese against the Americans would shoot at their own men if they tried to parachute out of their planes when they got shot down to keep them from being captured.

  • To argue that point would take more time and effort than either us possessed to include statistics graphs charts and individual examples. It would be easier for us to both stick to our emotional convictions as I doubt that either of us could sway the other.

  • @lizzylizardson Don't treat me like a baby, everyone knows hitler abused the army!

And in fact they should make a movie that shows how cruel those nazis were, so everyone will remember and that it may never ever happen again.

  • @lizzylizardson why would anyone want to make a movie about the nazis that conquered europe, enslaved entire nations and murdered jews and innocent men women and children?

I'll tell you: IT WOULDN'T MAKE FUCKING SENCE

  • @741Webster

why did americans make films about there wars there she fight nations official for peace but in real only to get cheap ressources?

    same with other people

don´t hold up other nations over the german or japanese nation

  • @flortrupp I'm sorry, but due to the lack of your knowledge of the English language I'm unable to answer your comment.

  • @741Webster

americans show german people only as nazis

but the most of them wasn´t nazis

so why do you think you can depreciate other nations?

  • @flortrupp I'm not "depreciating" other nations. And I think most Americans today know that not all Germans were Nazis but that all the Germans in WWII, directly or indirectly participated in the holocaust.

  • I didn't think this show was about promoting Japan during WW2?

  • The Pacific is just as good as Band of Brothers! My favourite in the Pacific is for sure John Basilone.

Respect for what these guys did!

  • @NesloGUnit

Yeah, both miniseries are GREAT, but I actually liked Eugene Sledge's story the best. Why did you like Basilone's story the best?

  • @saxplayer00

Mainly because of his personality i think. Always kept his mind clear and tried to move on, ignoring the fear. Like the part on Iwo Jima where he dies, he ignores the gun fire and get the men to move on.

He actually recieved a Purple Heart on Iwo Jima for his heroic actions.

Recently i presented a project about him for an exam, telling about the war in The Pacific and about John.

Nearly scored the highest grade :-)

  • @saxplayer00 i liked Leckies the best but my favorite thing bout this and Band of Brothers is the feel of the 1940s

  • Pacific is heaps better overall then Band of Brothers.

  • "Do you want to live? Get off the beach!" is over used

  • I like it.

  • @lizzylizardson

The Japanese invaded and enslaved my country during WW2.

If it's all the same to you, I dont want to see a miniseries about their great courage and honour.

  • @jurisprudence1972 This series isn't at all about their "great courage and honour" it's meant to show you the brutality and savagery of the war in the Pacific theater.

  • @jurisprudence1972

implying malaysia was a country during ww2

  • Great cinema photography and sounds editing,. My grampy told me that half of marine on that war died not on the bullet but by malaria. Damn mosquitos, they 've got marine too.

  • check out the new trailer in my channel!

  • anyone knows the theme starting at 0:16? please help!

  • @lipos77 resurrection - john debney

  • @steve61170 thx a lot m8!!!!

  • Screw anyone who is talking about oh ya from the U.S point of you forget you it's America still won right that's why I'm sitting here posting this so forget you all

  • this movie rocks

    i just finished watching it

joe and rami are great actors

well all of them are great specially the director

  • The BEST series of the year!! :D

  • wow i love this show

  • Why do so many people bitch about the show taking on America's point of view? Every country is going to represent itself because every country has an egocentric culture and point of view. I'm sure Japan and Germany can make their own similar show if they wanted to ... but they didn't ... so stop shut up.

  • @EpiphoneSH4

    i agree with you

  • where are the movies and programs showing patriotism in germany and japan?

  • @GuidoMetallo On your ass =)

  • @GuidoMetallo No patriotism from Germany or Japan, Still it is good to hear there side of the story but only from the innocent people that where against their countries evil acts.

  • where are the movies and programs showing patriotism in germany and japan?

  • @GuidoMetallo In Germany and Japan

  • the japanese had no intent to invade australia, macauther was egotistical nad blamey was a fool. my hat goes off to the 39th militia battalion a bunch of untrained to old,to young victorian guys that fought the japanese over the owen stanleys along the kokoda track until reinforced by 2ndAIF troops at imata ridge forcing the japs to reteat back to buna and gona beach heads, the first japanese defeat and retreat of the pacific war

  • @wack66

Hey asshole, learn to spell "MacArthur" before you say he is egotistical.

  • @samjudgeful shut the fuck up and have some damn respect for those marines u fucking prick

  • @samjudgeful

go watch letters from iwo jima jap lover

maybe we shouldve avoided guadalcanal and just let those zipper heads teach you and the aussies japanese

  • @samjudgeful the reason most of our war movies are from America's point of view, is because we are the ones who are fighting for just reasons and causes. A WWII movie from the Nazi's point of view would be just about lust for power and the killings of Jews. Same with the Japanese. Letters from Iwo Jima is a great movie.... But is only showed that two or three of the Japanese soldiers out of the what.... 23,000, were not in it for blood lust or hate, they were there because they were forced to

  • @Mexican0ese No, No, lets make a movie on the Imperial and Nazi side of things. Episode 1 would be "Kill those fucking Jews, Chinese, POWs, Americans, Russians, Europeans." Then episode 2 would be "Concentration Camps" and episode 3 would be "Rape of Nanking." That's fucking emmy awards content right there. All of the WWII shows are Allies because we were the ones who fought for liberation and freedom. We did some things wrong, but in every war there's something that gets fucked up.

  • @KawasakiPlant well said

  • @KawasakiPlant We won. Or came out victorious. The other side surrendered. Whatever. Soldiers ought turn their guns around at the fucked up leaders of their own country or the business interests that twist history into a war.

  • @samjudgeful STFU you bastard.

  • @samjudgeful marine's point of view actually and believe me there's a lot of difference

  • @bas949 what did he say cuz i cant find it

  • @samjudgeful you are fucking right the russians did the most and all germans or japanese guys weren't nazis, just poor guys that were forced to fight!!! SO THE AMERICANS AREN'T THE MOST IMPORTANT AND SMARTEST GUYS IN HISTORY IF YOU THINK SO YOU DUMB ARSES THAT DON'T LIKE THIS COMMENT! IT'S TRUE everybody loves U.S when russia lost 20,000,000 and in russia they were forced to be soldiers! i've seen historical phootage and in USA most people agreed to fight!!! SO RUSSIA SHOULD GET MOST HONOUR!!!

  • @DarthUno Honestly it's war. People die. Does it really matter who got the most honor? It's as simple as that.

  • @1Giannis2 Yes, the Soviet Union (not Russia) defeated the Nazis on their very broad front but it took them two whole years to learn to absorb the Blitzkrieg and were only able to do it because of two things: firstly, they had the land and manpower to do so - despite appalling leadership at first that lead to millions of deaths of their own soldiers - and the fact that Stalin was just as ruthless as Hitler and cared nothing for the lives of his own citizens as long as he came out a victor.

  • you know what fuck you man... seriously

America did its fucking part in the war... my fucking grandfather breaks down every time you talk about the war.... he went threw the bataan death march ass hole go fuck yourself bitch

  • To the men who fought in the Pacific. May their sacrifice never be forgotten, and their courage always remembered.

  • The Russians didnt lose so many men cuz they defeated Germany themselves! Its because they conscripted millions of men some not even 17, gave them a rusty bolt-action rifle, 20 rounds of ammunition and thrust them onto the frontline in the freezing cold against the highly diciplined, highly experienced, highly trained, and amazingly well equpped German army and panzers.

  • @DMFskateing Russians didnt lose so many men? They had the highest death toll in the war because of the reasons you specified.

  • @DMFskateing Sorry but thats just utter bollucks put about by Hollywood, soviet soldiers weren't well equip by any stretch but they had superior weapons (in the conditions) to the Germans (not to mention the many shockingly prepared Axis allies thrust into Russia as well). Also I seem to recall it was German 10 yrs old being sent to try and fight tanks with a single shoulder launched rocket.

  • FOXTROT- causulty is the term to describe a wounded or dead soldier. About 10,000,000 russian soldiers DIED. How many were wounded i have no idea, but probaly a shit load more. America had millions of casualties, but only 430,000 dead, which is still a lot.

  • band of brothers

  • the war might of gone quicker if the americans joined sooner rather then chickening out

  • I think the US military are bad asses

  • @esurius Not as bad ass as the SAS.

  • I do not understand why they value the war by the United States finally entered the war when it was over (the Russians), the Americans sought only their market interests (control), because if they did not enter the Russians would liberate all the countries of Europe.

They should make a film of the country that defeated the Nazis and was also the country to set foot in Berlin, they certainly were not the United States.

  • This thing better come to blue-ray and DvD i gotta get this.

  • Anyone know the melody/song in this trailer? id really like it.

  • Read Eugene Sledge's " With the Old Breed on Peleliu and Okinawa". Fantastic book tells it like it is from someone who was there.

  • @ChopperCrank Hahaha, thats because he WAS there. Or did I confuse the meaning of your comment?

  • the russians won the war in europe in all honesty taking the bulk of wehrmachts forces of 85% against them. and the americans didtn want to waste lives so they isolated most strongholds so.

americans did not outnumber the japs and the russians did outnumber the germans.

  • @MrMelkkoeNL I'm not saying your wrong, but I also like to add that we did not outnumber them, but wore them down and used H-bombs on Japan to end the war in the Pacific because they would have fought to the end. But after WW2 wars fought by America had been more political instead of fighting for what's right.

  • Poster under me is rightly true. the U.S have never won a war against a matched opponent. They have only won when they outnumber the enemy. Against any similiar foe they have never won.

  • @MrMelkkoeNL Um no. Germany lost because Hitler was an idiot, so where the Japanese, + we nuked the hell out of them. The russians, now they outnumbered the germans a shitload. The US owned the war on both sides, get over it.

  • Russia was the real winners of ww2. taking 85% of the wehrmacht. United states would never had been able to take europe if those troops had been available. The ALLIES won the war not USA

  • That's a god damn lie. Obvioulsy you know nothing about the Korean war, where the americans where outnumbered, and just so you know, fire and man superiority it is war tactics.

  • u are a fucking dumb ass. the reason why America wins wars is because we have the best allies to support us, great military training unlike ur shitty ass country who probably doesnt even have a fuckin military and that we have some of the most advanced weapons in the world. And also size of the country doesnt mean shit. Look at russia and china. they lose everything and they are bigger then America, u fucking piece of shit.

  • You know jack shit. The Russians had far more troops involved in both world wars.

  • I think its a lot more than just outnumbering the Germans. Don't belittle the achievements and sacrifices of all the soldiers that died there fighting truely by saying we only won because we outnumbered the Germans. There were many battles were Germans outnumber US troops. And I do not think the US covers a 1/4 of the world. And even now, there are not high population densities through the US. A prime example would be Alaska having one of the smallest pop. counts in the US despite its size

  • good point!!!!!

  • @MrMelkkoeNL

    What about the Spanish-American war?

  • what im hearing from you is that you wanted us to lose the war? you wanted the world to be under the control of evil people who do things like concentration camps or the rape nanking (look it up dumbass). Well then your right, because we have a large well trained army, it means nothing....You are a disgrace to america. And get a life because i already know your one of those people who sit around all day in their parents basement and try to start arguments cuz its the only human interaction u get

  • @jmoneysofresh yeah US are the good ones and the one that fights against US is satan worshippers?

  • the Allies just outnumbered and outproduced the Axis thats just how it goes.... It's not that Americans or British or any of them were the best its just numbers, why did the Germans lose at Stalingrad? Numbers...

  • @MrMelkkoeNL It wasn't just America.

  • it was everyone v germany and japan pretty much all of their allies were so shit they ait worth mentioning

  • The Soviet Union won the war against the Nazi Germans. They'd been fighting them for much longer than the Americans, pushing them back to their own country. It was only in 1944 when the Americans came into the scene (in which they did an amazing job). The Russians would of defeated Nazi Germany anyway.

  • @MrMelkkoeNL your a dumbass. america doesnt cover a quater if the world. and they japanese werre not outnumbered, and it because because of america and the allies that helped win the war agianst germany.you are an idiot, dont make stupid comments

  • @funnyz2k Russia defeated Germany not America. American causlties in Europe were some 500,000 while Russia suffered 15,000,000 military causulties.

Germany lost 75 to 80 % of its army in Russia, not to mention most of its best soldiers.

When D-day took place 80 % of Germanys army was not in France and it still took the allies 2 and half months to travel 15 miles inland until eventually there were no divisions to rotate out german divisions.

  • @Foxtrot262 The campaign in Normandy faced a strong concentration of force in a small area coming off a beachhead and went exactly to Montgomery's timetable, so don't belittle a very tough struggle against crack forces. Russia - actually the Soviet Union - did not defeat Nazism alone, though the 4 year campaign saw massive losses through Stalin's ruthlessness and ineptitude which often killed as many of his own citizenry as the enemy. It also took the Red Army 2 years to handle the Blitzkrieg.

  • damn missed the first show :(

  • @Cliffe4567 you can watch it on the HBO site still.

  • Cliffe, it's on HBO, the whole episode right now, so guess you could still watch it. Plus they're probably re-run it again next week or something.

  • this is the same as the first one, and 3rd

  • no "respawn" in real life

  • this one is actually done with HD VIDEO cameras (not film), quality wise, it will not look as good as the first one, is not going to have that classic film look. They did this so they can put CGI like the exagerated green you can see in this trailer...

We are looking at a Michael Mann movie video quality!!!

  • fuck politics.. being in the military isnt about one big cause.. its about your friends next to u.. i love being in the military

  • in ww1 the japanese were the americans allies

  • no HBO :D

  • @pxdfover

    I don't think so

  • What..... IT SAYS HBO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • HBO

  • I dont think so...I think its on HBO only

  • It's on the HBO Youtube channel, what do you think?

  • @pxdfover No on HBO

  • No, tonight the first ep. shows on HBO

  • u idiot, the fuckin vids say HBO every were

  • HBO

  • @pxdfover are u serious? lol HBO

  • yess, the "History Channel" :D

please...em.. just delete your account please. your comments are worthless to the world. thanks :)

  • @TresorIrumva man thats an acutal thing. you never hear of the history channel? i think its canadian tho

  • @pxdfover No, HBO

  • @pxdfover If u don't want to pay for it and if you don't have HBO and have Directv, its sometimes on late at night on Directv channel 239

  • Advice: Make the movie yourself.

  • how, after more than fifty years of lliberation, how? or r u in love with death?

  • I hoep you joking because MW2 is just a game smart one

  • "Roosevelt started the war'

You mean like when he piloted a torpedo bomber over Pearl Harbour on December 7, 1941?

  • @caulfeildvillage fuck u, u sorry ass sack of shit my grandpa served in ww2 and u dont think all the other countries killed POWs? the germans massacred polish and russian POWs so u need to learn ur fucking history then talked u fucktard

  • wtf r u talking about?? if america didnt join the war england and france would be ruled by germans and the germans and the japanese would have came to america to fight us? my grandpa was a medic and he was a corporal and he went to japan and risked his life and your saying americans are bad people ok.

  • no the russians already had the germans beat on the eastern front, the only reason why america got involved was to counter soviet influence on continetal europe.

  • @AoKxAsSaSsiNx

Any person can be bad. Japanese,German,American,British,French etc. I think what he was trying to type was that the trailer made the Americans look heroic and brave like mainstream WW2 movies do (SPR for instance in my opinion). I kinda agree with that notion but I want to gaive this TV series a chance. I respect the men and women who helped the Allies win the war but I dislike these type of movies that are jst too patriotic.

  • @AoKxAsSaSsiNx srry mate i dont want to disagree u...u are right.. in WW2 the AMERICA was a good country...but now..ia think he is right...america the most which he does..he destroyed countries for oil and other reasons...now.. but in WW2 america was good..now.......US is just a big country...he attack a small countries which have there 5-6 mil ppl and then US say: we are the strongest in the world..then if its true why US is afraid of Russia???

  • the war might of gone quicker if the americans joined sooner rather then chickening out

  • @AoKxAsSaSsiNx England wouldn't have been ruled by Germany, they fought off any chance of that happening before America entered the war. England saved themselves from that in 1940, America didn't enter untill the end of 41.

You're somewhat right at the same time though... If America didn't join in the war I doubt that England could have retaken Europe, or even just France if they were alone in trying.

  • Because anybody who fights in a war (right or wrong) is a hero, the balls you need to stand up and fight deserve to be honored and respected.. and the war crimes commited by the americans are nothing compared to what is going on around the world right now

  • @CaulfeildVillage ...sure. lol you must be reading weird stuff or on crack.....or just a conspiracy theorist. lol.......

  • everyone did at some point in time during the wars, thats what happens in wars.

  • More to the point. The Aliies DID need American help and it was greatly appreciated. However, you cannot say that one side was better than the other. It really does annoy me when America is depicted as "The Saviour" because EVERY NATION against Hitler did their duty. If America was such a "Saviour" then why drop two Atomic bombs on civilians in Japan?... some fucking "Saviour"

  • yes The Allies raped and looted, but so did the Nazis.

and Rossevelt didnt start the war, after WW1 Hitler started to diss like the allies, long story short, he managed to rise to power as a German lead General, Hilter created the first highways, then using a FOX News type propoganda he brain washed the population to think like him

  • What imaginary world do you live in?

  • @CaulfeildVillage

Roosevelt started the war??? Well, I'm not gonna even reply to the rest of your uneducated post.

  • i think you need to read your history smart guy....the Japanese tortured there pows...the germans starved and tortured the pows...and yea the japenese bombed pearl harbor after the japenese emperor was in d.c....my entire side of my dads family was in ww2 so dont tell me im wrong...i was told things you would never understand.

  • @CaulfeildVillage Would you further explain your reasoning on how FDR started the war? I'm curious to hear what you have to say.

  • Um, you are aware that this series is an adaption of the three books written by the 3 infantryman that the show is about, right? soo im not sure what you're referring to when you say

"Read history from people who were there rather than listen to rhetoric of the grouchy armchair generals who grew up brainwashed and deluded."

Cause thats exactly what this show is

  • @CaulfeildVillage

    Shut up, you stupid communist.

  • @CaulfeildVillage IDIOT. You're the one who needs to read the history books. Im willing to grant you that some Americans did loot, rape women and kill POWS but NOTHING compared to the Nazis or Japanese. This movie is the truth and if you want to see a movie from the Japanese perspective look at Letters from Iwogima or to see it from the German Perspective watch Das Boot. Dont bitch about the "cliche of WW2 movies". The winners write history and whether you like it or not its the truth.

  • @CaulfeildVillage Roosevelt started a war that was happening for 7 years beforehand? Americans raped the women of their allies?

I understand looting and killing PoW's since there was tension and the owners were already dead. But, seriously, raping and starting the war?

You are a fool. Guess the Holocaust didn't happen then, or the atrocities to Russia. Those are simply Propoganda to create hatred towards the Nazi and Hitler

  • Caufeild, you are a liar and a traitor -or at best, sincerely deluded. Have you ever read Sledge's book? Only an idiot would label it propaganda. I know quite a lot about WW2 Pacific theater - this miniseries looks impressively accurate, nuanced and, detailed - your gross generalizations betray a dull witted fool -have something, anything specific you would care to dispute? Of course not. The only propaganda on this thread -is the vile venom, the venal garbage you are spewing.

  • @CaulfeildVillage how did roosevelt start the war? if i remember correctly, the germans invaded poland in 1939 and the japanese attacked pearl harbour in 1941. how did roosevelt start the war again? i forgot.

  • @CaulfeildVillage wow get ur facts strait homie

  • @CaulfeildVillage I bet you think your really smart and stuff, trying to dis a president and and soldiers, but I bet you have no idea about anything you just said, so do everyone around you a big favor and keep your mouth shut.

  • You would rather watch a movie in which the Nazis and Japanese are heros ? Most of us did listen to "people who were there", They were our fathers and grandfathers.

  • im sure you also think the Holocaust didnt happen either?

  • How did Roosevelt start the war? We were attacked by the Japanese! And the Japanese had labor camps, just like the Germans.

Over 10 million people died in those labor camps. Not to mention massacres like Nanking, and the starving of Island people, like in. Okinawa

We did not loot or kill POW. The Japanese tortured POWs, looted and burned everywhere they went. Why do you think Filipinos helped us fight, even though we treated them bad in the past? Because the Japanese were MUCH worse!

  • seriously man get off the computer and grow a pair. These men an women are the bravest people in the world and for you to sit there behind your computer and disrespect them like that shows what a person you really are. Its sad really to know that there are some ungrateful people out there like yourself. Give these men and women the respect they deserve.

  • every side killed POW's, most nations raped, and all involved looted, your argument against the yankees is unjust. they did not start the war either. it began with hitlers militarisation of Poland.

  • Because it's made for the American audience? Ofcourse all soldiers in war also do crimes in countries they occupy, no country is an exemption.

But its a movie. Not a documentary. Its not meant to tell the truth, its meant to entertain.

  • Sorry guy, but it is done to tell the truth. The truth from men who were there. It will entertain also, that's why there has to be the love story plots in it. It will show the truth to those of us that it matters to, the others can be entertained.

  • What revisionist historical crap are you reading?

  • while america didn't even want to be apart of anything before pearl habor while Germans basically did what you said to pretty much everywhere they went. . Japan executed thousands of civilians and raped god knows how many women. btw its called the holocaust

  • the allies were wery good at raping women at okinawa to. no side is innocent in a war

  • Uh, the books that this show is based off of are memoirs from PEOPLE WHO WERE THERE (Eugene Sledge and Robert Leckie). Read Helmet For My Pillow and The Old Breed. Both books where by marines who fought in the Pacific. Also, how did Roosevelt start the war if the US didn't enter until 1941 and the war started in '39 when Hitler invaded Poland? And do your damn research. Read about what the Germans did to Jews or what the French and Aussies did to the Vietnamese, or any war you ignorant moron.

  • The Pacific is based off two memoirs. The authors of the books are the characters in it too dumb ass. This is based off experiences from people who were there and not the grouchy armchair generals.

You think Americans were the only ones who killed POWs and looted? If you think that then you are the one who brainwashed and deluded. Everyone did it. The Germans did it, the Japanese, English, Russians, Americans, hell even the Canadians did it.

  • @impax745

well mabey not the canadians but who knows...

  • @sandbox390

canadians are no different from any other human, and you can only know the terrifying power of a human who is backed into a corner, every person on the earth is capable of killing a pow

  • @CaulfeildVillage You make it, then.

  • C Village I do agree with you but.. American as always been looked on as the world peace keepers. There has been some scumbag solders that severed and are serving now. Then there is heroes. Yes America's past is far from innocent and there has been lies told.

  • they made this from journals from the soilders that were actually there

    YOU ARE A FUCKING JACKASS

  • i agree i wish be wuld also understand all german and jap soilders werent pure evil just simple men like the americans doing there job u no.
