  • This is the guy Graham wanted so badly, he ended up losing his job over him?

Considering Bendtner, may Arsenal should stay away from Danish players in the future. Unless they can pry Schmeichel Jr. away from Dirty Leeds.

  • It may well be that it is his only goal for Arsenal, but it is one of the best Arsenal goals ever.

    - Denmark

  • Good old Arsenal. "SHOOT!"

  • There were also t shirts produced at the time that said "I was there when Jensen scored.......and Gallen, Allen and Impey!" UUUUURRRRRsssss!

  • Legend.

  • the only time i have been happy when we have lost a game.

i saw jensen score , the stuff i can tell to my grandkids..lol.

  • we lost 3-1 this game lol

  • great player

  • i am from denmark. and he never usually hit the ball verry wéll. but in 92 euro championship final against germany. the ball comes rolling towards him. he hits it perfect. his respons: i hit it right in the ass

  • His only goal. And what a goal it was.

  • You should check out his goal in the video here on YouTube Belgium vs. Denmark 1994. He scored after only 12 seconds on the field. He was an effective defensive midfielder, not a goal scorer.

  • He's from Denmark, so am I :)

  • that was probably the only bright spot of that season. we finished 12th in the end.

  • nice

  • sick curl!!

  • I was there, aged 11.Got given tickets by a man who looked like merlin the wizard 5mins before kick off with 100 people ahead of us in the que.Our seats were directly behind faxe, west upper, row 2.We lost 3-1 and nobody gave a shit.Jonny Jensen,Jonny Jonny Jensen!!!

  • great goal btw

  • what year is this?

  • Great Goal!

This was his only one for Arsenal?

  • I was there when Jensen scored! lol

I laughed my ass of in disbelief the whole night when i saw him score.

  • theres hope for anderson yet

  • Jensen was a cult hero, a guy who couldent score, and then all of a sudden, perhaps one of the best goals ever... JJ the man!

  • i wish i was there :(

  • Nice goal though :)

  • Yeah, Jensen was a defensive midfielder. His role was to clean up on the defending part of his temas field and conquer the ball from the opponents and deliver it to a team-mate. I find it funny too, that people thought he would be a goal machine.

  • class::)

  • john faxe is a hero for denmark

  • He didn't score much, but he was an okay defensive midfielder wasn't he?

  • That right there was an awesome goal though

  • My first QPR game we did the double that year 3-1 home and away....

    31/12/94

    Great day!

  • Quality!! Whenever he got the ball we all used to shout ..SHOOT!!

  • it took him 98 games to score this one goal :o)

and i just heard that he is thinking of being manager for the gunners in the future... tsk tsk i pray that it would never happen.

  • Savner din vinder mentalitet i BIF!!

  • still won the game tho

    you rrrrrrr's

  • Brilliant goal!

I was a big fan of JJ's when he was at Highbury.

  • you can hear the whole crowd go 'shooooooot' before he lets fly... classic!

  • I don't really understand. Was he ever a succes at Arsenal? Of course he wasn't the prolific goalscorer, but did Arsenal buy him thinking of him as a goalscoring midfielder like David Platt?

  • Nah, a sizeable bung paid to George Graham brought Jensen to Arsenal :p

  • ohh god jensen is from dk im to god he was the worst player ever

  • John Jensen? He eventually cost us George Graham, but then again, if it were not for him we wouldn't have Arsene Wenger!

  • Johnny Jensen, Johnny, Johnny Jensen!!!

  • I was at that game and although we lost to QPR there was still a party atmosphere as we'd waited so long for a Jensen goal.

  • It's funny how much hype surrounded Jensen after his presentation at Euro 1992. He was never a goal scorer but beating Germany in the finals sent him to Arsenal. Great for him, but nobody here in Denmark ever expected him to score heaps of goals.

  • He's still thought of in some corners of England as one of the worst buys ever because some of us are still labouring under the impression he was a Rivaldo and not a David Batty.

  • Sort of like when Real Madrid bought Thomas Gravesen because they needed a defensive midfielder.

  • @16nine "beating Germany in the finals sent him to Arsenal", that and the bung. ;)
