I know! I had a Westie, but she had a skin condition common in her breed and had to be put to sleep. We only had her for about a year, but we loved her! Now we have a Cairn Terrier because they look so similar.
I have never been a dog person, but I have recently rescued a Westie. I took one look at Max and couldn't let him go into a cage. Are Westies unique in this way? I have become very attached to this animal and don't know if I could, or would ever replace him. I have thought of getting a Norfolk puppy when Max gets old, thinking it might ease the loss. At the same time, I don't want him to have to share my affections towards the end of his life.
@Janko1492 Yes, they totally are. You can even see their intelligence and sensitivity when it' mixed into another breed and the dog looks *nothing* like a westie. I saw a gray dog with poodle hair and told the owners she was mixed with Westie. I *felt* it, by the way she looked at me. They said, You're right!
It's cute but it also makes me sad. I had two cairn terriers (they look like Cesar doggies but are colored) and they passed away 2 months ago right after each other. I miss them so much

@mypaige08 Yep. You have to really be careful when purchasing a westie. I see many of them with skin allergies due to poor breeding.
