Sisu ftw. I have driven the sisu 8x8 at 0:48 pretty much during my army time :P Thats what i call a truck :P The 6x6 version of it goes a little better in forests, but the 8x8 is way more cooler :P
Some old military Sisu's are equipped with a chassis that allows high torsion which gives a quite ok surface holding in terrain. The first model with this idea was A-45 (so-called "Proto-Sisu"). The following models were SA-150 and SA-130.
The idea is a bit same as in the modern Tatra T810. The axles are rigid but instead the chassis is flexible.

@TheVeneth The backbone chassis was patented in 1923 by AUSTRIAN born Hans Ledwinka. He got the idea when he worked for Steyr in AUSTRIA but the idea was rejected, so he showed it to Tatra. I have heard somewhere that the concept had been tested somewhere also before, but I don't know more about that. But the point is that the good mobility in terrain has been carried out differently in Sisu than in Tatra T815. In Sisu the axles are rigid but the frame is flexible, just like in Tatra T810.
@Gwafton Hans Ledwinka was Czech.. Ledwinka is germanized version of name Ledvinka which means in translation "Little Kidney".. I am not sure he was working in Steyr.. Because Austro-Hungarian Empire was destroyed in the end of WW1.. Anyway he might have been there in war or pre-war years, but surely he was Czech.. And i strongly doubt the fact that that concept was tested somewhere else because Tatra is the second oldest car producer in the world.. At those days it was top notch company..

NW's were the 1st factory made cars of Austria-Hungary (before that there were experiments of Siegfried Marcus and few others). It is interesting that one of the designers of NW Präsident was Edmund Rumpler, the Austrian aviation and automotive pioneer, who later made many inventions and produced Rumpler Taube planes.

Fischer, Ledwinka, Sviták, Rumpler & Sage copied the construction and used the extra Benz engine for building Präsident. But it was finished in 1898, not in 1897 as Tatra incorrectly claims!

Sisu and Tatra are very different technically. Sisu has got rigid axles, conventional frame, fuller gear box and nowadays Cat engine, Tatra has independent suspension, backbone chassis and the aircooled V8. But it would be really interesting to see both vehicles in practical testing, because both trucks are outstanding in terrain. Sisu has got one character which makes it excellent logging truck: the excellent tandem axle lifting mechanism.
To SISU je podle mě dost blbá atrapa Tatry, nechci je nějak urazit, až tak špatny asi nejsou, ale vypadají jak kdyby měly jen pevný nápravy, a asi nemaj jako Tatra jednu hlavní nosnou rouru, takže srovnavat to je blbost.
V Tatře se snoubý skvělý vzduchem chlazený 8válec + origální tatrovácká nosná roura plus... známé pružení kol respektive to co všichni známe kvalita naší tatry v terénu!!
Tatra se svým vlastním prehistorickým motorem splnila euro iv s klasickým rotačním čerpadlem a to bez jedinýho elektronickýho systému, slavný zahraniční značky na to potřebobovaly common rail a adblue. to sice už tatra má u euro iv, ale opět pouze s klasickým rotačním čerpadlem. chlazení vzduchem nepotřebuje údržbu, nepotřebuje fridex, nepoškodí se. proto byly tatry bezkonkurenční jak na sibiři tak v poušti. ty auta jsou nezničitelný, pojedou furt a všude.
@memphisunv no nevim. ja jazdim s dafom ma 480 koni euro 5 a je to len 6 valec. spotreba je 20L prazdny a 40 plny. v priemere mam 35L. Tatrovky mali najmensi motor 8 velac a zeru 40L ci su prazdne alebo plne. dymu z nich ide jak hovado a citi to kazdy kopec. takze euro 4 urcite nesplnali s ich prehistorickymi motormi. kvoli tomu, ze su chladene vzduchom nemozu byt preplnovane s vysokotlakovym turbom lebo by sa prehrievali, takze maju v celku slabe motory kedze 12 valec ma len 500 koni.
no ale v poslednej dobe sa trocha zlepsili, uz robia aj vodou chladene motory. a v amerike(ATC) a australii(tatra australia) sa vyrabaju s caterpilar motormy takze su vykonnejsie.
@AllkoDH Prázdnej DAF nežere 20 l, to vykládej tomu, co žere seno. Já do dopravy dělám, tak mám jistou představu, co je reálná spotřeba. T-148 měla základní normovanou spotřebu 35 l, s vlekem 45-50. T-816 TErrNo.1 má základní spotřebu přibližně 32 l, motor stejnej objem, výkon proti 148-ce výrazně vyšší a krouťák více, než dvojnásobnej. Hodně dělá i rozsah převodovky.
Dále si srovnej průběh výkonu a krouťáku Tatry a toho tvýho DAFa. Tatra je stavěná už od auto-pravěku do terénu, DAF na silnici.
@StandaSaab no DAFa sme sa uz zbavili.Dostal som nove IVEKO Stralis 460.Kamion nic moc ale spotreba je 32.3 L.Zatial mam najazdene len 5000km.Jazdim kolko plny tolko prazdny. Kolega ma Volvo FH 500 podla mna najlepsi kamion akym som jazdil.Kvalita. Tam je spotreba 31L a tak isto jazdi tam plny naspat prazdny. Najlepsiu spotrebu som mal na Scanii R420 29.8L. Tu sme mali z pozicovne na par tyzdnov. Aj Renault Premium sme mali chvilu ten mal 33L. Viem to presne lebo to musim zapisovat do stazky.
@StandaSaab Tak ji přidej jednu hnanou nápravu na víc tj přední náhon vem ji do lesa nalož 30 kubíků kulatiny a myslím že tam tak velký rozdíl nebude .Píšete tady všichni o kamionech což je silniční auto s jednou hnanou nápravou a půl toho pojezdíe po dálnici .Na silnici jde u tatry spotřeba taky podstatně dolů

Takze viem len to co hovoria vsetci "najlepsie nakladne auta na svete" :-) Ale podla toho sa neriadim. Kolega robil CSAD mechanika a hovoril, ze tatry sa kazili strasne moc. Torzne tyce a pera praskali jedna radost a motor sa prehrieval v terene. gumy sa drali... Spominal viacej veci, ale to si uz nepamatam.Ale hovoril, ze vterene presli vela to je pravda.
@AllkoDH Víš proč? Protože to tam třískali, jak Baťa cvičky a na nějakou kvalitu práce se z vysoka. Praskající péra jsou pravda, měli s tím ukrutný trápení i na prvních Dakarech, na kterých nějaká Tatra jela. Byla tam, tuším v 86 roce i T-815 8x8. Listový péra na ní svařovali snad po každý etapě + kvůli malýmu rejdu ztráceli hodně času. Nakonec to asi v půlce vzdali, protože se to už nedalo. Čerpáno ze soudobé literatury, to si necucám z prstu. ;-)

@Davidczyamaha Chtěl jsi asi napsat, že ten motor není chlazen rovnoměrně, ty nestálá teploto :-) To je pravda. No a? Krátká životnost? Tos sebral kde? A i kdyby - ten motor dokáže opravit kdejakej Venca z JZD za "pár hodin", protože v tom není žádná přiblblá elektronika, co se se*e. Tatra se po šichtě umeje, občas promažou mazací body a nazdar. Kolik myslíš, že maj T-815 na stavbách najeto? Kolik dodnes sloužící T-148 ? :-))
U auta pro vojenský účely, především v poušti je u vodou chlezených motorů chladič to nejzranitelnější místo. Aby fungoval, musí být na "zranitelném" místě, jeho poškození se prakticky rovná vyřazení vozidla z provozu, což u Tatry nehrozí. Tak asi tak, mudrlante :P
nemas pravdu, vzduchem chlazeny motor je daleko lepsi pro terenni ci bojove vyuziti.. nepotrebujes menit nejakou kapalinu atd. a to znamena delsi zivotnost v extremnich podminkach, nemluve o tom , ze novy tatrovacky motor splnuje euronormu.. coz se nepodarilo nikomu jinemu.. teda aspon co jsem cetl.. Tatra je podle meho osobniho nazoru nejlepsi terenni nakladak.. skoda jen ze se nevyraby supersport auta, tatra v8 ecorra, seriove..

@TheVeneth Steyr started car production in 1915. As far as I know, Ledwinka invented the backbone chassis combined with transmission. But the invention is not Czech but Austrian.

Tatra je vrcholem logiky a účelnosti, ale boužel o ní už není zájem začínají ji pomalu vytlačovat jiný značky nk. automobilů (respektive Evropské).
Ale já tatře budu fandit vždy a za jakých-koliv podmínek.

Sisu and Tatra are very different technically. Sisu has got rigid axles, conventional frame, fuller gear box and nowadays Cat engine, Tatra has independent suspension, backbone chassis and the aircooled V8. But it would be really interesting to see both vehicles in practical testing, because both trucks are outstanding in terrain. Sisu has got one character which makes it excellent logging truck: the excellent tandem axle lifting mechanism.

To SISU je podle mě dost blbá atrapa Tatry, nechci je nějak urazit, až tak špatny asi nejsou, ale vypadají jak kdyby měly jen pevný nápravy, a asi nemaj jako Tatra jednu hlavní nosnou rouru, takže srovnavat to je blbost.

Tatra se svým vlastním prehistorickým motorem splnila euro iv s klasickým rotačním čerpadlem a to bez jedinýho elektronickýho systému, slavný zahraniční značky na to potřebobovaly common rail a adblue. to sice už tatra má u euro iv, ale opět pouze s klasickým rotačním čerpadlem. chlazení vzduchem nepotřebuje údržbu, nepotřebuje fridex, nepoškodí se. proto byly tatry bezkonkurenční jak na sibiři tak v poušti. ty auta jsou nezničitelný, pojedou furt a všude.

@memphisunv no nevim. ja jazdim s dafom ma 480 koni euro 5 a je to len 6 valec. spotreba je 20L prazdny a 40 plny. v priemere mam 35L. Tatrovky mali najmensi motor 8 velac a zeru 40L ci su prazdne alebo plne. dymu z nich ide jak hovado a citi to kazdy kopec. takze euro 4 urcite nesplnali s ich prehistorickymi motormi. kvoli tomu, ze su chladene vzduchom nemozu byt preplnovane s vysokotlakovym turbom lebo by sa prehrievali, takze maju v celku slabe motory kedze 12 valec ma len 500 koni.

no ale v poslednej dobe sa trocha zlepsili, uz robia aj vodou chladene motory. a v amerike(ATC) a australii(tatra australia) sa vyrabaju s caterpilar motormy takze su vykonnejsie.

@AllkoDH Prázdnej DAF nežere 20 l, to vykládej tomu, co žere seno. Já do dopravy dělám, tak mám jistou představu, co je reálná spotřeba. T-148 měla základní normovanou spotřebu 35 l, s vlekem 45-50. T-816 TErrNo.1 má základní spotřebu přibližně 32 l, motor stejnej objem, výkon proti 148-ce výrazně vyšší a krouťák více, než dvojnásobnej. Hodně dělá i rozsah převodovky.
Dále si srovnej průběh výkonu a krouťáku Tatry a toho tvýho DAFa. Tatra je stavěná už od auto-pravěku do terénu, DAF na silnici.

@StandaSaab no DAFa sme sa uz zbavili.Dostal som nove IVEKO Stralis 460.Kamion nic moc ale spotreba je 32.3 L.Zatial mam najazdene len 5000km.Jazdim kolko plny tolko prazdny. Kolega ma Volvo FH 500 podla mna najlepsi kamion akym som jazdil.Kvalita. Tam je spotreba 31L a tak isto jazdi tam plny naspat prazdny. Najlepsiu spotrebu som mal na Scanii R420 29.8L. Tu sme mali z pozicovne na par tyzdnov. Aj Renault Premium sme mali chvilu ten mal 33L. Viem to presne lebo to musim zapisovat do stazky.

@StandaSaab Tak ji přidej jednu hnanou nápravu na víc tj přední náhon vem ji do lesa nalož 30 kubíků kulatiny a myslím že tam tak velký rozdíl nebude .Píšete tady všichni o kamionech což je silniční auto s jednou hnanou nápravou a půl toho pojezdíe po dálnici .Na silnici jde u tatry spotřeba taky podstatně dolů

@StandaSaab a este k tej Tatre... Moc skusenocti nemam, vlastne len raz som ju soferoval, ale to mi aj stacilo. To bola stara T-815 z 1990. Takze viem len to co hovoria vsetci "najlepsie nakladne auta na svete" :-) Ale podla toho sa neriadim. Kolega robil CSAD mechanika a hovoril, ze tatry sa kazili strasne moc. Torzne tyce a pera praskali jedna radost a motor sa prehrieval v terene. gumy sa drali... Spominal viacej veci, ale to si uz nepamatam.Ale hovoril, ze vterene presli vela to je pravda.

@AllkoDH Víš proč? Protože to tam třískali, jak Baťa cvičky a na nějakou kvalitu práce se z vysoka. Praskající péra jsou pravda, měli s tím ukrutný trápení i na prvních Dakarech, na kterých nějaká Tatra jela. Byla tam, tuším v 86 roce i T-815 8x8. Listový péra na ní svařovali snad po každý etapě + kvůli malýmu rejdu ztráceli hodně času. Nakonec to asi v půlce vzdali, protože se to už nedalo. Čerpáno ze soudobé literatury, to si necucám z prstu. ;-)

hmm ty vzduchem chlazene motory jsou opravdu uzasne jde videt ze nikdo z vas s tatrou nejezdí staci aby bylo 20° a v aute musí byt zaple topeni aby se neprehrivalo na pousti kde je pres 50° to musi byt parada tatrovacke motory jsou uz proste zastarale nemluve o jejich kratke zivonosti ktera je spusobena nestalimy teploamy motoru

@Davidczyamaha Chtěl jsi asi napsat, že ten motor není chlazen rovnoměrně, ty nestálá teploto :-) To je pravda. No a? Krátká životnost? Tos sebral kde? A i kdyby - ten motor dokáže opravit kdejakej Venca z JZD za "pár hodin", protože v tom není žádná přiblblá elektronika, co se se*e. Tatra se po šichtě umeje, občas promažou mazací body a nazdar. Kolik myslíš, že maj T-815 na stavbách najeto? Kolik dodnes sloužící T-148 ? :-))

U auta pro vojenský účely, především v poušti je u vodou chlezených motorů chladič to nejzranitelnější místo. Aby fungoval, musí být na "zranitelném" místě, jeho poškození se prakticky rovná vyřazení vozidla z provozu, což u Tatry nehrozí. Tak asi tak, mudrlante :P

nemas pravdu, vzduchem chlazeny motor je daleko lepsi pro terenni ci bojove vyuziti.. nepotrebujes menit nejakou kapalinu atd. a to znamena delsi zivotnost v extremnich podminkach, nemluve o tom , ze novy tatrovacky motor splnuje euronormu.. coz se nepodarilo nikomu jinemu.. teda aspon co jsem cetl.. Tatra je podle meho osobniho nazoru nejlepsi terenni nakladak.. skoda jen ze se nevyraby supersport auta, tatra v8 ecorra, seriove..
