  • right thumb over your left thumb while shooting if your right handed, it will stabilize your firearm better for more accurate shots and follow through's :)

  • @parker1469 thanks for the good tip. This is actually a buddy of mine who is left handed most of the time, ambidextrous, and had bought this gun that day so he was just getting the hang of it. I hope by now he's fine tuned his hold, lol. Thanks again for the tip and thanks for watching! Have fun out there!

  • @ArizonaAdventures No problem, Im an NRA and state firearms instructor and really on the fence on the MKIII and saw your video, that made my decision, but wanted to help you out. Your video just made Ruger a sale, thanks for posting it !

  • @parker1469 Very cool. I am a big Ruger fan and have so much fun with the weapons I own that are made by them. Sounds like you have a fun job and it's great that you can teach so many people how to handle firearms correctly. I've been an NRA member for a short time and know for a fact you instructors know your stuff. Glad we could help each other out :) Take care!

  • i bought one of these at a pawn shop for 300$ came with a case,2 mags, starter kit.

    was that a good buy?

  • @slayershayne If you enjoy it, it was worth every penny! Price is something anyone can make up, but value is what you get from how it makes you feel. I hope that makes sense :)

  • @slayershayne $299 BRAND NEW. unfortunate for you.

  • love this gun,own one just like it =]

  • Looks like a Tokarev with the same chamber of a Japanese Nambu...

  • @WarrenAch I believe that Bill Ruger credited the Nambu as the design inspiration for what is now known as the Mark III.

The photos and drawings of the early models look almost exactly like a Nambu.

    Here's a tip for Ruger product managers/designers:

Put Low Mount No Snag sights on a 22/45. You'll be glad you did.

  • metal yes guy only the barrel could be clean anything else needs to clean by profsional

  • can any one tell me why 22's dont need primers. PLEASE i have been shooting these for 5 years and still dont know why

  • @petter405 22's dont need a primer because the fulminate is self contained within the cartridge. take one apart and you'll see it.

  • @petter405 They are rimfire ammo. The primer is inside the rim. The powder is ignited when usually two opposite rims at once are punched. I hope you had the time to google this in 8 months.

  • can any one tell me why 22's dont need primers. PLEASE i have been shooting these for 5 years and still dont know why

  • So thats the blued finish? I'm getting this gun no doubt, but I'm debating whether to get the blued finish with only adjustible rear sights and miss out on the stainless with both sights ajustable... but the blued is 100+ bucks cheaper.... I dont think this gun would ever be near water and rust but eh.. what would you recommend arizona? although I could easily have some info wrong. I love the blue tint though

  • @papasmurftw Ilike the blued look myself

  • metal or plastic mags? thanks n great vid!

  • metal

  • thanks for that im trying to decide on a hand gun now and your post helps!

  • it dont sound that loud is it the videos sound quality or what

  • has the gun ever jammed I had problem with a different model ruger

  • No it never has. This model seems very smooth and reliable so far.

  • I just bought a Ruger 22/45. Does this gun have to be diassembled to clean? Or can I just clean the barrel and area where the cartridge seats without diassembly. Thanks. AL

  • Depending on how much you shoot, that will determine how well you need to clean it. It never a bad idea to break it down as much as you feel comfortable and clean/oil it. Best bet would be to look at the manual as they are really good at exlpaining how to tear it down etc.

I'll try to post a cleaning video for this pistol soon. I hope that helps a little...

  • when re-assembling the pistol, make sure the hammer is in the full forward position before trying to put the bolt detent pin back in (as per the owner's instruction manual) otherwise you will not be able to push the pin all the way in. also if the gun is new or has not been taken down very often, you will have to gently tap the bolt detent pin back in with a rubber or wooden mallet (again as per the ruger instruction manual) or use a lot of muscle. Great little pistol, fun and cheap to shoot.

  • Can u do break down on this?

  • Yeah for sure.

It's in the plans to make a disassembly and reassembly video soon.

Thanks for your interest and take care!

  • how long is that barrel?

  • It has a 5.5" barrel.

  • Cool thx i was going 2 get the one on ruger and i saw yours i really liked it just dint know thx!

  • Sure thing!

  • The best .22 semi-automatic pistol on the market. Not the best looking one though.

  • I have to agree, I really like this model. I really like the style as well though, that old luger look.

    Thanks for your comment!
