I have one of these, but it's the K200A model w/Bigsby & DeArmond humbuckers instead of the single coils that this model has. It's a great guitar, very light, and even though it looks 'Rickenbacker-esque', it doesn't sound like one, but rather like a Gretsch fitted w/a Filtertron (ala Stills early CSN). Terrific ax ...
If you look closely at the guitar, Kustom also used a "Zero Fret" just below the nut. Zero frets were found on Kustoms, Mosrites and a few German guitars. Paul McCartney's Hofner 500/1 bass came with a zero fret on it (all Hofners still do) and Paul had a zero fret installed on his Rickenbacker 4001.
Thanks David. I never knew that there was such a guitar. Very interesting! Your instructional videos are great. As soon as I am done with Rockhouse, I am migrating to 'Next Level Guitar Course." Keep the reviews coming, I love this stuff!!! (Wisconsin Fan)
what do you guys think about using kustom HV100 amp in progressive rock? does it have good clean sound and can I get a good overdrive out of it too? it's very cheap and right it's my dream amp. right now I have marshall 15w amp, but it's pretty weak for jaming with my band.
hey , great sounding guitar , I have a K200 serial #1699 zebra finish with Bigsby tremlo . . . have owned it for 30 years . . . rare guitars from what I understand .
it was my first electric guitar , my mother bought it for me for Xmas 1978 ( I was 12 yrs old ) , still have it today and its all original . Don't have the Kustom case for it .
I had a kustom amp stack way back when ,metalflake blue tuck and roll , god I hated that thing it was so tinney sounding
I traded it for an ampeg sv12 cab and fender bandmaster head.with my buckhorn guitar it would sustain for days with the old lipstick pickups !..ahh the memories.
Thanks! I had a zebra version in the early 70's. I wish I still had it.

Vintage Kustom rocks. Rockin a Fender J-Bass thru a Tuck & Roll 250-4 head with a matching 215 cab, daisy chain the two channels...Pure sonic glory.
