  • "Middle of nowhere, Arkansas" That pretty much describes anywhere in Arkansas.

  • yeah is he ok?

  • wtf happend 2 him???

  • this was good, but the ending made it seem like it was a joke. if it wasn't for all the comments saying that others have had experiences here too, I would think this video was supposed to be funny, not scary... still, now I have a reason to visit Arkansas :)

  • It is a real light alright but not a ghost. It is actually a ball of gas that has formed due to gas lines nearby. The reason I know this is because this story evolves by many train tracks among different cities. I live 20 minutes from the particular train crossing and have heard the story all my life. It is fun to believe but like many things has a simple explanation

  • Well first off, you have to flash your lights three times and honk your horn three times to piss off the old headless hobo! then throw rocks once it gets 10yrds from ya. There is an old lady that messed with that thing and turned blue, yes smurf blue. Its a rare disease but in the end if she wouldnt have been a prick to the crosset light who knows!

  • that my home town

  • i went about a mounth ago.., i saw the same thing, but it came not 10 yards from us in our car.. it looked more looked more like a cracked open door then a lantern , but it was freaky anyway

  • My dad has been there in a car and or truck many times and has even been close enough that it actually came inside the vehicle and it would not start and the doors locked...... It was like it lost power... And nothing would work

  • There is one near Senath Missouri and it is very much the same as this one. I have seen it several times but doesn't seem to be as bright as this one was. The one here floats from side to side as it comes up the dirt road. Some have explained it as swamp gas. Don't know for sure. I have never stuck around long enough for it to come into the car. Not Me!

  • I am 58 years old, and I saw the light when I was 8 yrs, old. I had travelled with my grandparents, who used to live in Crossett, from Amarillo, TX. We saw it move all around and change many colors. I even saw it dart into the woods, then shot back to the middle of the railroad track. We walked up the tracks, it disappeared, then it suddenly was behind us. I have loved the light my whole life. Would love to see it again!

  • Haha, that's nothing. I live in Crossett and I've seen it SO many times! You should have gone later in the night cause it get way brighter! Last time I saw it, it got brighter than a car's lights on bright, then it turned red and just went out! It was CRAZY! But the legend behind it is that it's a guy that worked on a train and fell off it and got ran over, so now he's looking for his head (for essoclemson).

  • lol. live in the town right outside of it (Hamburg) and i've been there many times. I've saw it twice for sure. Both times i was out of my vehicle. Both times was this last summer, the summer of 09, and they were just days apart. However, i have never seen it get quite as bright as it did with yall. Very cool.

  • ive been to the light alot of times and never seen it and if u set down there now there will be about 4 to 5 cars drive by in 30 minuets

  • i live about 2 miles from it. been many times but never seen it myself unfortunately.

  • i really think we need to get in the car..... aahhhh

    *Loud* aAAAAHHHHH! lol

  • Thats not even 3 miles from my house! Though we may be in BFE we are crazy popular for the ghost! its amazing how many different people i have met from MANY different states there!

  • Look, would somebody shoot that sumbich and then go look at it? Do South Carolina reidents have to teach you everything?

  • Me and my friends even walked the road to see what it is. People have shot at it, it doesn't run or anything. Its not a plane when u are out there at 2am. its not a truck on the main road cuz u are way in the woods. its not anybody cuz u can go at 3 or 4 am and see it and i hope that no one seats out there to play a hoax of the whole world. Me and my ppl go every year to watch it. its fun its something that u have to go see to believe.

  • i beleive it, i just cant believe no one (wouldnt be me) has tried to chase it down.Maybe they have and they arent here to tell us about it. This stuff freaks me out.

  • @essoclemson apparently we need to teach you spelling.

  • i use to live there :O i heard about that

  • Dude. I have lived in Crossett my entire life and I have yet to see it. But now I'm inspired! I'm gonna sit down there until I do see it. Oh Yeah, BTW- -Whats wrong with Arkansas?? -Uhmm,, NOTHING!

  • I live in Crossett and we go there like every weekend, it's pretty fun! (: I LOVE IT!

  • i grew up in fort smith arkansas and ozark its a town with alote of weird history. arkansas is pretty freaky im moving to conway soon so ima go and see this light i have been a graffiti artist for years and these arkansas tracks have always freakt me out expecially in ozark the small town it is i swear i have seen things i cant explain and why would i? i love graffiti its my love and why would i jus trip out and hear things?? who knows i cant wait to go and see this light

  • Haha....dat waz freaky....lol...u rock dude....lol...I'd b screamin like a baby...lol

  • me my sister and her boyfriend and some other friends went there, on the way my sister kept sayin that i was goin to be scared well when it came out she was having a panic attack but anyway it was pretty freaky and yet awesome experience

  • What's wrong with Arkansas?

  • i grew up hearing the stories; til some buds of mine dragged me out there one night last year...scared the hell out of me...just curious though, has anyone ever walked up close enough to it?...i think i'm gonna try it one night.

  • You can't get real close to it. It will disappear and reappear behind you or up in the trees. I'm 63 years old and we saw it freqeuntly when I was a teen. My folks saw it also. Its been around a long time.

  • haha kool Jeremy you ROCKK!!

  • Alot of times it will pop up way out in front of you then dissappear then a minute later it will pop up behind, you, will scare the SHIT out of you.

  • Confirmed. My dad lives in crossett, and I have visited it on 2 occasions. Seen both times. I went there with my family before thought they where playing a prank on me. But when I look to my left and right and see all my other family members staring with the hairs raised on the back of thier necks. Thats when I became a believer.

  • Crossette is my dad's home town. My Granny lives like 3 miles from there so my uncles and my cousins use to go out there all the time. Dad says that they have has scientist come out to run test and they determined that it wasnt swamp gas or lights from the airport. They dont know what it is. But it is one of the traditions we have. Everytime we visit we go and see "The Light". Its great fun!

  • i have been there because i live in crossett.

  • This is real. Twenty years ago I went to this "middle of nowhere" place in Crossett to see the light with two friends. We all saw the same thing as shown in this video. The light vanished several times and reappeared closer to us each time. We ultimately scrambled back into the car and sped off in fear.

  • Best way to find out, Get binoculars. or night vision! =D

  • Hey what happened near the end when I heard the scream? I hope everyone made out ok.

  • I read about this in a book, they've already proved it wasn't real. It has something to do with a light shining somewhere else. I wish it was real though.

  • Crossett AR?? I've seen the gurdon light in Gurdon Arkansas but is this suppose to be the same thing?

  • lol i went last night it was scary but i no its not real its the airport light....

  • it's not the airport light, the airport is way too far down the road. Also the only lights that are white at the airport are the vasi lights which are only white when your above the glide path which is at about 300' above ground.

  • The airport light is wayy to the right of the trail, and way to high up. There is absolutely no way that that is it.

  • WHAT ABOUT A PLANE THAT JUST TOOK OFF?

  • Planes hardly ever take off from there and plus you would hear them. The way the light is, it's in between some trees and it sometimes stays for hours so there's no way it's a plane.

  • I hate to bother you about this, but whats the legend behind it? Indian burial ground, place of a murder or anything? i've been to places here in SC with stuff like this, but I must admit that I've never seen anything. This kind of stuff really freaks me out. Off subject...thats a great picture of your baby on your homepage. You must be proud.

  • @essoclemson many many diff legends about it. most go with the guy lost his head on the railroad bit.

  • for those of u who have doubts....it's real! i've lived in crossett my entire life, most of it only about 5 miles away from the light. i've seen it countless times. my grandma swore it got into the car with her. other people have said the same thing. no matter how many times you see it its still freakin scary. if ur ever in town check it out. its pretty awesome!

  • Agreed. It's very real, and very old. My mother and her siblings have seen it since they were kids, back in the 70s. I'm heading out to see it in the next couple days, myself. ^_^

  • i went to crossett this weekend and saw the light. i was basically kidnapped and forced to go see if the light really existed...if you are bored and now scared of arkansas, it's fun!

  • look over his shoulder at 4:07

  • that is the guys reflection in the window... it is not the ghost..

  • My grandma lives there and she used to take us to the light all the time. Apparently there was a guy who worked on the railroad and it was really icy one day, and he slid and fell of the track and the train cut his head off. So, the light is his lantern that his body is carrying around looking for his head.

  • that was funny

  • great job

  • I was born and raised in Crossett. We used to say, "meet me at the light," and a huge group would hang out and watch it jump back and forth, front of the car and in back, it was so scary and a total blast . . . good opportunity to scream and grab your boyfriend!!

  • Hey this video is awesome I have seen it lots of times now. Jeremy Student Advance was awesome with you there I had a good time. You are so funny and yes u are a nut! The first time upstairs was wierd but now its still wierd but really funny!

-Savannah from student advance with Coc!

  • I think just watching that video freaked me. And there is really nothing more freaky than the Unsolved Mysteries theme music.

  • I think the light is actually Brad Ellerbe, tapping away at his iPhone. The parts where the light goes out is when he's waiting on the next text message to come in.

  • DUDE!...I am so there!....that is FREAKY

  • Pretty weird. You are a nut.
