  • a great project with positive social sense

  • in a way i feel like i KILL my goal-!?strange audio-smile.....ckeck it out 4:40

  • Creativity.

    I bow down.

  • Fantastic JR!

Humor is such a great communicator across all humanity

    - and it is great for everyone to see themselves in this way, often way out of context with their daily existence and yet the images are still completely accessible

bringing joy to many who may have lost hope

  • Song? Does anyone know anything about the song played in this video? Yes, Massive Attack have the credit for it, but I've looked all over the internet and cannot find it!

  • Fuck !Who dislike this one ??.!!!! Its the most incredible work project i have ever seen !!! Great video .thanks for sharing

  • I love it ! great job!

  • Unbelievably creative!!!!!!!!

  • THIS IS SOOOOOO AMAZING!!! A REAL REVELATION OF THE HUMAN!!!

    LUV IT!!!

  • L o v e -_-) א ה ב ה

  • *initiates slow clap*

  • beautiful!

  • We know that people behave better - often much better - when there is someone watching them. Even a pair of cartoon eyes has the ability to elicit greater compliance with laws and societal expectations. I wonder what these realistic images of real people in the community will do over time to these places. Perhaps changing the world really can be this simple.

  • This video brought me to tears....

  • We know its massiv attack but we wanna know the song´s name ffs!

  • since he is showcasingthem world wide and making money and accolades-- can we say the people he photographed are now being exploited?

who cares good art. a political banksy!

  • Thank Eric. Great find.

  • Thumbs up if you are here because of Eric Balfour.

  • very powerful work

  • Congratulations! You're motivational for us all, JR!

  • I love people! I love this idea.

  • I know Jr isn't trying to save the world - but he's making strides toward that goal, wittingly or not.

  • Great... Really amazing. Congratulations JR

  • Wow JR you are absolutely wonderful. I was totally taken away with what you do! Bravo Grand, tu es un miracle. One thing I kept on wandering, how could you afford to do all this?

If ever you come to Senegal, my home and the walls in my neighborhood Yoff Layens, Dakar - would gain to have you and show their beauty and their tough life too. My guest in my GuestHouse.

  • Fantastic and such a lovely artist. He finds the good and the beautiful in people and makes us believe in humanity again. Thanks JR

  • has anyone figured out which massive attack song is used?

  • Bravo...Great.

  • @patcheko They are the few, we are the many

  • Fantastic. Powerful. Art as a tool for change.

  • just great....

  • Amazing. Great work.

  • In North America he should do it with men who are the oppressed of Western Society.

  • Awe-inspiring. The junction of art and life.

  • The arts are the softest way into a culture.

  • I love this I really do it's so wonderful to see this ^__^

  • i really have no words...this is amazing absolutely perfect!!!!! this is a f**g message to the world a message to everyone of us stucked in our everyday life!!"the real heroes are right there in the street everywhere around you" and i will also say inside you!!! the power of man is so so great but sometimes we forget it and prefer to stay in the dark!! but see...if someone manages to get to the light in an instant moment he draws many more around him....think about it.....

  • 2 people are not human

  • This is really moving and compelling work; I am both humbled and impressed .............. I've never felt so proud to be a photographer !

  • really amazing and the just fenomenal!

  • @ compalena.........What is the REAL revolution... sounds pretty boring to me. Most revolutionary movements had at least during their inception elements of of hope and imagination...... Agitprop and the costructivistm are examples!.

Also those faces in the Favellas in Rio are very revolutionary me thinks!!

  • just amazing!well done!

  • Amazing.!!!!

  • Thumbs up if you paused the video in 4:53

  • @skbche 4:54 :D

  • @skbche

thanks for pointing me to that crazy shot! :D

  • Wow

  • Hey @Sprinterdrift and @Buzzardz - any luck on identifying the music? I've been ploughing through Massive Attack tunes on Spotify but can't find this anywhere... is it a remix? It's bloody lovely.

  • @CockerationTime No Luck. Are we even sure this is MA? This could possibly by a one off for the project, or a new release from an upcoming album.

  • Very beautiful

  • Amazing!

  • Seriously progressive and transforming!!!

  • Hermoso y gran idea¡

  • Simply beautiful

  • Incredible art project!

  • Nice work wheatpasting the world. Stay up.

  • Amazing.

Le gars qui a fais ca est magnifique !

    Amazing.

  • how can he pay all this big prints? is he so rich?

  • WOW PHENOMENAL!!! MORE LOVE! PEACE Please Educate All Children Everywhere

  • powerfully beautiful!!!

  • Absolutely inspiring. I was thinking of something similar just recently. And I've been beaten to it. AND HOW!

  • ASTIG!!! (",)

  • i'm speechless.

being a lover of photography and street art, it's impossible to imagine the magnitude of this project and how stunning it looks.

this will inspire a lot of kids without any doubt.

  • I think this is an amazing idea which challenges stereotypes, and uses caricatures for humor. This may create glimpses of a new reality of actually accepting others. I hope so. Thanks!

  • I think it's too bad that the E in TED is looked down upon by the T and D crowd (and has since the beginning of TED.) This is art that actually means something, I for one am glad that JR won, he deserves it 100%.

  • really cool!

  • anyone know this music? its been stuck in my head all day

  • @Sprinterdrift lol! Me too! Driving me crazy!

  • Comment removed

  • @Sprinterdrift I thought it was Arovane, but the music credits say Massive Attack which surprised me. I guess I haven't heard any of their stuff since Mezzanine.

  • @AaronfromQueens -- hahaha - me neither, but there are a few good tracx on their latest album (Massive Attack - not sure of the title... 2010 release, I think)

  • @Sprinterdrift Music by Massive Attack

  • Lets be honest Jamie Oliver set the bar higher last year by highlighting a real problem and then actively fighting it and was a deserving winner "JR" from what I can see is looking at conflicts I guess and then photographing the people on either side but just throwing a twist on it all..hardly revolutionary or productive... Make a time-machine JR and stop the British palestine mandate better yet go back in time JR and kill off Hitler before he came to power.. then I guess you deserve the award.

  • @mizrah159 Given your high standards, this means that Jamie Oliver would have to also go back in time and disrupt the industrial revolution, the power of agribusiness, the destruction of prime farmland, environmental racism, US-style poverty, genetic engineering, etc. in order to have a legitimate social change mandate and project. JO and JR both deserve the award! One uses art, the other uses food. The real revolution is happening in social change movements and will not likely be televised.

  • wow... what an inspiration... im actually overwhelmed. A deserving TED winner (infact so many more other awards for that matter)!!! HATS OFF TO JR!
