In fairness, she does pretty much 'phone it in' on this song, but it's important to realize that Crystal Gayle's talent was overclouded early on by her sister-hood with Loretta Lynn....she was steered by Loretta's record label into singing songs that really weren't from her heart and soul. It didn't work, and eventually she changed labels and was allowed to sing her own works....the rest is history, as they say.

It is Interesting how you can hear the influence Loretta had on Crystal's voice. Crystal's later songs have that wonderful and beautiful breathy quality. I heard Loretta urged Crytal to have her own style.

This is Anne Murray's signature tune enough said. I'd have liked to heard Crystal sing this song a few years later when her voice and overall sound matured. She sounds a bit too overtly "country" and her voice lacks the warmth that she later acquired.
