My mom bought my brother Sega CD back in '93/94 for $300. You don't realize adjusted to inflation that's outrageous! And it failed! Now video game systems don't really fail. Back in the 1990's so many did, especially Sega (Saturn, Dreamcast, 32X, Nomad, Sega CD, etc). Then you had Panasonic 3D0, Jaguar 64, Neo-Geo CD, and that stupid Apple one (before Apple was trendy).

+ its not rly 64-bit cuz they split it into 2 different 32-bit processors just to try something new but it didnt count as 64-bit so that explains why the game dont look like 64-bit.

@killkenny5000 I owned a Saturn. One of the first ones actually $350. It definitely failed. Sega was desperate so they introduced a cost cut model for $200 with 3 free games, still didn't improve. The Panasonic 3DO was $400, I owned one. Had a lot of promise and decent games (Need For Speed (before it became shitty), and Return Fire)

well i know it wasnt sega's best console but i do know it rly was successful for its time and i seen lots of ppl who owned a saturn when they were kids and adults and won 3rd place in the late 90s gaming war along with playstation and nintendo 64

the saturn started at 1994 in japan and was released in USA in 1995 and died in japan at 2000

the only sega system that was cancelled was the

SEGA NEPTUNE which was a stand alone 32x but the saturn was already released so they scrapped it

@ProblematikGTX Good question, the purpose of that mechanic is to travel to different times (Duh,Of course) but also the reason why they have this is because each time travel has different stage designs and in each different design you can get different things you weren't able to to get in other times, or they may lead you other places. This mechanic has a lot of understanding to it actually, you just have to know the purpose; understand it and you'll eventually love it, i personally love this

This was Sonic on steriods...the best sonic I've ever played. I loved this game so much, especially the time travel aspect which changed each level about considerably. If all other mega cd games were this good, the system would have been awesome.

Looking back on the days I owned a Genesis (and I'm 16!), the sound ind amount of colors on the screen at one time is just amazing! Of course now I own a PS3, but that's no excuse!

I had this on the pc... until it got stolen... otherwise I might´ve shown it. Gonna try getting a new one somehow and maybe try this out again... it´s an awesome game after all. And the music! My favorite is probably the Stardust Speedway Past one... but that stage is out of it´s own mind! And don´t get me started on the Workbench ones... I still have THOSE fresh in mind! We´ll probably see this pop up as a wii-ware or something... it´s bound to happen..=)
