  • UGLY GAME :|

  • I'm pretty disappointed by these graphics...

  • It's not as impactful as it was in Champion road

  • yeah sop basics graphics

  • well you go make your own wii >.>

  • wipp :D

  • you can totally see they did not use motion capture for those moves :/

they could have made the dempsy roll look more intense and cooler like they did in the anime

  • motion capture? have you seen the real life dempsey roll?? its nothing like it nad not even near the way it looks in the anime..

  • he's talking about the game genius

  • lmao mr. genius.. read again..

  • he's talking about the game genius

  • how really effective is the dempsey roll?

  • Unbelievably. Go and find a clip of Jack Dempsey fighting.

  • it's one of the most boxing technique if done right.

  • spoiler?(i think..)

in the game, it's lethal. only problem is that it's leaves you open to devastating counters that use your momentum against you. i always try to use it as a finisher. you can use it early on in a fight, but some fighters can take those hits and use the opportunity to knock you silly.

  • Just as it is in the manga.

The dempsy roll is strong, but a counter will kill ya.

  • i experienced that first hand today...in real boxing.

    X_x

  • the thing to remember is that Jack Dempsey didn't start 'rolling' constantly, he only did it when he needed to to evade, to him it was just advanced bobbing and weaving. you only use the Dempsey roll for its barrage of punches when the opponent is dazed or tired, or if you have that much more dexterity to avoid a counter.

  • i kno. i was not dazed (definately tired, but im sure my sparing partner was too) but i missed a counter (dont recall, but i think i might have been feinted) and he did "roll" or bob and weave to get into the inside of my open guard (from missing the punch)...

then came a barage of hooks and the next thing i knew i was down =\

  • it is not to avoid a counter, dempsey was 2 small for the heavyweight division, all of his opponents were taller than him so the dempsey roll was to evade straight and jabs from taller opponents and the punches clearly knocked them out

  • Keep in mind that the Dempsey Roll in the anime (and manga) is exaggerated. The real thing is nothing like what you see in the anime (or manga). Just do a YouTube search for the keywords, "Jack Dempsey" and "Jess Willard" and you'll see it in action.

  • i saw it. it's not as spectacular as in the anime, but it just takes 3 or 4 shots to take out a rival with that.

  • you dont see the point in it but Jack Dempsey was not the tallest and most built of people but he sure can open up a can of whoop ass on someone with that move

  • ............thats because its real life boxing

  • @DaNotoriousMC But it's a video game! It NEEDS to be over exaggerated!

  • Ahh it doesn't really matter. We should be able to use the Action Replay for the Wii to use any extra in game models. That includes Mike (Dynamite S. Tailor) Tyson.

  • You don't play as Sendo in any of those fights, but Vorg and Saeki are playable and you fight against them as Ippo in Story Mode. There's an in-game model for Shigeta as they show him getting beaten in a cutscene, but he's not playable in the actual game.

  • Are you sure? Go to Gamespot's preview of this game and watch the video closely. The roster has over 25 playable characters that includes all of the fan favorites.

  • Wtffffffff they have those characters in cutscenes but not actual gameplay? That sucks so much wtf.

  • So I guess you don't play Sendo's fights against Vorg, Saeki, and Shigeta then?
