he wrote a song but he was not sure if he wanted it on his record. he let someone listen to it and that person liked it and mika decided he wanted the rest of the record to be like that song. i hope that helped. Do you speak spanish or are you learning it?

Hmm... I interpreted 'We are Golden" so differently haha.

I thought the song was about the carefree, self-centered of society of teenagers (youth) -- how we are all self-absorbed in ourselves just about having fun in our 'golden' years. And then when we finally grow up, we look back "still wondering why, had to let the world let it bleed me dry" -- because teens always spend their parent's money carelessly for what's "in" and fashionable, so now we're forced to grow up and lose that innocence.

And the fact that 'We are Golden' talks about running away so much makes me think that teens like to run away from the world's problems of poverty/corruption/global warming, run away from our parents, while remaining happy but ignorant, indulging in material luxuries.
