@Disbeat123 No. The glue needs the fibers of the plant materials to hold it together. Just like fiberglass. Do an experiement. Find some dog poo and some deer/elk plant eater poo and dry them on the dashboard of your car. Once it is dry, break it in half. You'll see the fibers im talking about in the plant eater poo. In the dog poo.... well, Ive never tried to snap a dried dog log in half before but dogs dont eat enough plant materials to have fiberous poo. I wouldnt use human poo either.
@5tonyvvvv Right. I'd think the undigested fibers in burnt grass are probably the same as fibers in burnt grass. It doesnt matter what it is as long as it is fiberous. Ive heard of people also using cattail fluff or chopped up sinew too.

@scrm1 Too late. I already have poo on my dash. I justs havent been pulled over yet. I do get some pretty wierd looks and questions from people who ride with me. heh, heh
Thanks, Ive made lots of pitch glue but never any hide glue. Now Im curious how one would make some primitively. I cant imagine hot rock boiling till it is done. That would take forever. Hmm, now Ive got another project....
Pitch by itself is hard but very brittle when dry so the charcoal gives the pitch a bit of flexibility so it wont shatter. The poo is from plant eaters. The undigested plant fibers in the poo are like the fibers in fiberglass or like rebar in cement. They help reinforce the pitch. It helps hold it together. People have many receipes for pitch glue. Some even put beeswax in it to soften it. I like to use what I have naturally in my local region and honey bees arent native to here. Thanks
Mom - Tommy, What have you got in your mouth
Tommy - Raisins
Mom - Where did you get those raisins
Tommy - Out of the baby's nose.
Seriously, can't you do this with rabbit droppings?

@TheGrayman1234 funny! I dont see why not, as long as they are eating fiberous foods like grass.
