  • I think theyr'e uncomfortable as hell I'm not that big of a guy but I don't like how cramped they are. Crown-vic is better, in my opinion anyway.

  • the charger is a great car for freeway/highway open road policeing. Small towns or villages where the fastest road is 40mph i would say go with the impalas. Crown vics will always favorite im not knocking the chargers sheer hemi power but the visability is poor without radar and added light equepment.

  • i heard that these things aint holding up to severe duty very well is that true

  • @infinity3jif Yea once in a pursuit the wheels snapped clean off the cars still beast

  • Chargers wont hold up like the crown vics, chrysler plastic garbage

  • @jdornatt You've got a point. The Crown Vic has been in service for at least 1,000 years, and everybody uses them. That shows they last forever and that you could get parts anywhere. But the charger, it's new and we don't know how long it's going to last.

  • @jdornatt The guy was probably a paid spokesman. Cheap plastic, uncomfortable seats. Let's not forget the Dodge Intrepid brakes catching fire. Crown Vic isn't much better with exploding gas tanks on rear end impact. Can't wait to see the Taurus come out!

  • @jdornatt But the vics are gone soon.

  • the heavier police one does 15s and stock 5.7 does 14.5 and top speed is about 140mph

  • Just traded my Impala for a Charger 3.5L. The Charger looks sharp and is fast BUT the Impala was more nimble and had much more trunk space.

  • better then the Chevy impala or Ford crown Vic

  • I love this car, easily the best I've ever had

  • Cant wait to see if GM makes the next Impala more like the Pontiac G8, now THAT would be a nice patrol car.

  • to bad pontiacs is going to be gone soon

  • Doesnt mean that they wont make the impy more like the G8, especially now to in a way replace the G8. And if chevy can get something to replace the Sky and Solstice, I heavilly support dumping saturn, pontiac, and saab. They were all rebadges anyway. But I think they still need to drop GMC.

  • they wont drop gmc and they shouldn't have dropped oldsmobile they should have fired the oldsmobile designers but ya saturn should be gone along with pontiac

  • Why not GMC? Their just rebadged chevys. If the money that they spend on GMC could be spent on just developing the original product, then that Tahoe, SIlverado, Suburban, and Colorado would be a whole lot better.

  • you do raise a good point but some people stay faithful to certain companies thats why they have many of the same cars in different companies

  • And that in a way is why I wish they had done what Ford did (sold off allot of their subsidaries before the economy tanked) and made the money they need to revive the brands they kept. But seeing how it is too late for that now, I think they should just cut their losses. You have to remember that once the economy comes back up, you could allways revive these brands (look what the Camaro revival did/is doing for GM).

  • No partition, I would never trans a suspect w/o one.

  • this car is sexy!!!

  • ok then

  • ha ha and it runs low 14s with 350hp that was good 20 years ago

  • Just so no one gets me wrong, i love the performace of the hemi's, but they suck when you have to work on them.

  • I'm not crazy about them on wet pavement. When the traction control kicks in, it's almost like the car goes into neutral for a second. Otherwise, I like them. I think they're the 21st century diplomat.

  • this car sucks when it comes to cops around 6 feet tall and up

  • now way im 6'4" and its perfect for me

  • well its a tight fit do you got you radio sirens and computer all in the middle slot type thing?

  • yupp

  • the brakes are crap, give me my crown vic interceptor anyday...

  • thats not true !

  • have they fixed them? i know when the charger first came out, I spoke to a few officers that said they went through brakes like butter..

  • we had a brake recall for that, did a few of them myself.

  • i mean that they are not good!! i work for the pd here in my home town and first of all the cars are to small from the back the steering wheel is not smooth at all...the crown vic is softer and feels better and more powerful because its big! and i mean it only out runs the crown vics by 2 sec's some police stations have marauders now thats way faster the the charger

  • Its ok ervey105, we get it, you're just an upset lil' boy who is blinded by blue ovals.

  • crown vic's are still better!!!! police are having to many problems with this unit!

  • What do you mean?

  • what do you mean?

the vic is old and they fall apart.

    and eat gas!

  • This police officer is obviously from either Canada, or some northern US territory....dontcha know, eh? lol

  • this car is sexy!!!

  • so who can tell me the name of the aftermarket supplier who can reprogramm the ESP on Civilian models so mine handles like cops?

  • they wont like that, we had an australian ex highway patrol, bought at auction, the police removed EVERYTHING, absolutely EVERYTHING and left holes everywhere in the dash and boot

  • ESP is just Electronic Sability control.. its nothing new or just for cops.. alot of cars have it.. I wouldnt be surprised if top the line chargers have it

  • they do have ESP. It's standard on the higher end rear wheel drive models

  • NO i understand that but they way there's is programmed is different than any civilian model.

  • createdbyamirul They choose this car because it has power and room. A Porsche or Lambo are two seater's and wouldn't pass the standards 2 be called a police car.

  • Cut out the talk..lets see this thing performs on an advanced EVOC track!

  • actually, they are only about a grand more then a Crown Vic. The Crown Vic is a waste of money. . those things can't get out of their own way and do not have stability control or anything. for the money, the Charger is better in almost every catagory than the Crown Vic or the Impala (and I have one of the Impalas).

  • Yeah FWD sucks for handling V-8 or not!

  • maybe. . but i always laugh at the guys with the crown vics that can't get out of their own way. . I'm already on scene in my FWD.

  • Well, if ya really wanna argue about it, in some districts an officer can get the "city"(read you and me) to make the payments on any car the officer wants, so basically, yes the government WILL nad DOES pay for these for cops.

  • Kingssuck06 your a dumbass, the government would pay for these, youy ever hear of a government discount.

  • durgh y they choose dis car..they should choose porsche or lambo

  • yeah...thats a great idea for a police car, very easy to fit criminals in the back...

the charger has the power and the back seats that all cruisers need

  • cause their too expensive and a waste of money.

  • not a lot more then the Crown Vic (like a maybe a grand-ish higher?) and looks way more aggressive and has better stats in just about every category.

  • That was in reply to createdbyamirul.

  • my bad. thought you trash talking the the Charger, I was gonna have to come down there!!! j/k (i wish my dept. used the charger)

  • You are crazy this car comes in 3.5L V6, 5.7L V8 Hemi and 6.1L V8 Hemi (this car is the 6.1)

  • what are u on? The SRT-8's (6.1 Liter model) base price is $38,000! Do tou really think the government would spend that much on a police car? NO! This is the 5.7 dude!

  • i dont mind that its 4door. it was designed as a police car.. dodge is making the 2dr challenger for the people who want a two door.. so its cool

  • umm no comment my bfs been on my account so pls dont tell me to STFU...lol....i know nothing bout cars:P

  • man dodge has turned to the dark side and fuck the new charger it has 4 doors.......... if dodge heres this i just wanted to tell them dude you mad the worst car it dos not look like a charger

  • uauu.cool car.

  • who your the dumb ass its a 6.1 not a 5.1.

  • haha finland police have a jaguar s-type R now thats way better than a moving tin box;)

  • rcmp have jags too

  • omg if ur sisters boyfriend told you this he is a retard, they dont make v-10 chargers they make a 3.1 v6, a 3.7 v6, a 5.1 hemi and a 5.7 hemi the srt-8 is the 5.1

  • idk if its your typeing or what but, they come in 2.7L, 3.5L, 5.7L(340hp R/T) 5.7L(350hp R/T Daytona), and 6.1L(SRT8)

  • my sisters boyfriend is about to buy a daytona charger 2008 in Nevada. V10 SRT10,green and black.going from cali to NV

  • there arent v10s, jack ass.

  • v10s yes, there are. the srt10. however its in a truck. its a viper motor. and a piece of junk as well. there are no v10s in the chargers. and they never will put them in. they just dont fit.

BTW Im a DiamlerChrysler certified tech. I work on these cars everyday.

  • Chrysler Viper v10 junk? is there somthing wrong with you?

and you cant be a DaimlerChrysler certified tech. THERE IS NO DaimlerChrysler anymore!

Its the evil german based DaimlerAG (Diemler)

and the Privately owned Chrysler Motors LLC out of Aburn Hills Michigan!

  • Dont be stupid. I said Im a certified DiamlerChrysler tech, i didnt say the company is still know as DiamlerChrysler.

And technically it still exists. Diamler still owns 20% which is the rights to the commercial lines such as the Mercedes sprinter van aka Dodge sprinter also marketed under frieghtliner.

Im certified to work on the daimler versions sprinter crossfire so on.

I Hate vipers. If you ever work on one, Youll know. and hemi's they suck balls

  • um DiamlerChrysler is no more.

    Hasnt been for a while.

and Dialmer owns 19.9%... but Cereburs is thinkin about a forced buy out.

and Crossfire has a 3.2 CHRYSLER engine except the SRT which has an AMG engine.

and the HEMI sucks balls? Thats why there are SO MANY on the roads.

And the take on HEMIS are 45% in offered applications?

  • LoL. 1: Dodge > Jaguar. 2: Theres only ONE jaguar police car in finland. So how bout STFU :)

  • LoL. 1: Dodge > Jaguar. 2: Theres only ONE jaguar police car in finland. So how bout STFU :)

  • its the same shit, same like the impalas but with an esp system..big deal

  • this is awsome. i hope all the cops get charger becuase then ill have a real challenge when they chase me in my Trans Am.lol. i was in mexico and they allready have charger as there highway crusiers

  • lol! Im in Leicester, UK! We have one Unmarked Scooby WRX and a lot of Skoda Octavia Vrs's. And community support officers have got Vauxhall Algia's or Nissan Micras LOL!

  • mm that's sad, any european 40.000 USD stock car could reach up to 150 mph easily...

  • its not always top speed its how fast you get there!

  • According to the video the top speed is computer controlled at 145 from the factory. I wonder what it would do if the speed limiter was removed. I have a friend who has one I am sure if the speed limiter can be removed that he will do it. I wonder how quick the lamborghini and ferrari cop cars get up to top speed? Wonder if the HEMI Charger will beat them from say 0 to 120?

  • I'd guess the Lambo and Ferrari's would probably get to top speed quicker, mainly because they have 5-600 horsepower and a lot less drag. And same thing with the 0 to 120, but we also have to keep in mind most European police departments drive something like 1.7 liter vauxhall cars that might get to 110. Also when Italy got some lambos they were practically given to them.

  • my buddie has the 6.1 Hemi V8. 425 horses. He took the limiter off and he has hit 194mph

  • doesnt compare to europe's lamborghini and ferrari cop cars.

  • What are you on about? Only one country has one Lambo police car. Germany has a few Porches and thats about it. In Ire;and, where I live, the best we have are Ford Mondeos and Opel Vectras.

  • Anyone may feel free to cheer for the police getting their new toys... but you should do so for reasons other than cost comparison to the Crown Vic. This vehicle is not cheaper. Any police representative that states this is clearly trying to avoid taxpayer outrage over the wasting of YOUR money. Higher budget = more tickets written. Who can be happy about that?

  • dont break the law and you wont have problems.

  • Sweet car but this looks like an old martial arts movie clip. The lips are not following the words in this interview.

  • nice philly allready have one in its fleet

  • sounds like a sweet ride. hate to be being chased by this thing. i think its style gives cops a new sence of "cool" but i think they deserve it for everything that they do

  • stealth mode haha, in other words turn off the lights

  • The new impala SS has 303 hp,but thats just the SS they are bringing back another high preformencce Impala.

  • yes, but infortunitly, the cops DO NOT get the SS version. lame i know...

  • Ottawa police is test driving a few of these babys right now. Good luck in a car chase with that muther sucker. It's sweet and it's got an intimidating style. It's apparently less costly than the Crown vics we have now AND more fuel efficient.

  • sweet car
