Aw man I can't wait to pass my test, my practical is the 14th of November, but I already have the car, I took it around for around an hour today (With supervision of course) and it just made me want to pass even more!
I'm told it's easier than the theory, but I didn't mind too much failing the theory because I could go back a week later, I don't think I could wait another 3 months after a practical fail...
@LittleLeeHere I have my test on the same date :D Why would you have to wait 3 months after a practical fail? In the UK you only have to wait 10 working days :)

@heartache33 Confidence is the main thing when driving. Yes there are alot of drivers out there, but keep that to the back of your mind and keep your concentration on the road at the front of your mind.

i have had alot of chances to go take my dads truck but i want my first solo drive to be in my car and having a lowered 87 supra riding on 18" rims with hi performance sumer tires makes it nearly impossible to drive in all the snow and ice on the roads right now.. (new jersey blows....)
@cleansurf05 The green P plate is to show you've just passed your test and are a new driver. It's not mandatory in the UK but it may help other motorists see that youre still new to driving and hopefully give you a bit of extra room etc. Well, that's the idea anyway.
@d0pefish Did you drop any of the techniques you had to use in the test, ive got my own car my test has been pushed back twice due to the weather but when im driving with my mum or dad in my car i dont use push pull or nothing, just wondering.

Its very VERY wierd the first time, And infact the first few times you drive with noone else in the car, As I had my full Motorbike licence and was riding a 650 by the time I did my car test I found it even more odd that I ride solo all the time so why should it feel odd driving solo, its almost like you expect to keep being given directions in your left ear...meh

i should be getting my license soon but i have a question im 18 and i have my permit but it expired so i went down there and asked to get a new one i had too pay 10 dollars and they said i had to retake the written test so i was like ok and i took the test and passed with a 90 so if im 18 cant i just take the test now or do i have to wait another 9 months with my permit to get it OR do i have to get all my hrs in (at least 50hrs) then get my license some please answer that and congrats
@FordieMUFC the most difficult part, is before the test. The stress almost killed me, and my hearth was still beating very fast even 20 minutes before the magic words: Congratulations, you passed.
@FordieMUFC true, the test is pretty simplistic (at least in Canada). Park on a hill, Parallel park, 4 way stop, 2 way stop, stop lights, 4 lane roads, bout it. The biggest enemy is your nerves.
@superkaioken1 That is exam laxative - comes highly reccomended for those who have a constipated disposition. Sod dolculax and senacott, just book an exam, make yourself late for it and the brown paint will spray liberally onto the toilette bowl.
remember my first drive solo bout 5 months ago i was a little scared lol cos i had never driven my car before. I got a 106 1.1 L 1998 its a great little car for my first car it has no power steering but dosent matter its fine to drive.

Hiya :) The Fiesta was car #1, I'm on #3 now after 3 years. The Fiesta was a fine car to drive and ideal as a first one - it needed some new bits like a clutch and shock absorber but thats pretty much what you can expect on a used 1995 car. If you fancy one, definately try to find one with power steering because otherwise you'll have to wrestle with it a bit at low speeds, i.e. parking etc. :) But yeah, overall it was ideal for my first wheels and it was very cheap to buy and run. @d0pefish yeah, main thing to look for (and really look for well - with a good LED torch) is underbody rust poke stuff feeling for soft bubbles of rust - Ford did a crappy underseal job, check all of the floor (footwells especially) and the back where the rear subfrm meets the bodyshell - the latter if bad fails MOT. KA is far worse than Fiesta, KAs rust bad within 2 years.
The MK3 was especially bad, but the MK4 is also prone to it - ask any mechanic why the majority of Fiestas fail their MOTs.
I've been driving alone with my permit only the whole time. As long as no cop catches you, your fine. Of course I have my license now.When I first got my license, I had this urge to speed, I love speeding around town by myself.

I did a couple of lessons with a different driving instructor just before my second test to get used to having someone new in the car, worked a treat and i passed with 2 minors when last time i was all nervous and got 3 majors and 6 minors, maybe something to think about if its nerves for you? Only had 11 lessons so far. Taking about 2 a month as they're quite expensive. £25 p/h with my instructor in a Séat Ibiza TDi. I love driving though. So much fun. Just can't wait for my independence!
Cheers for the 5* bud. :) You will love the independance, I drive up and down the country these days. Driving lessons are expensive but are well well worth it.
Get all the practice you can with a parent or friend sitting in as a passenger - it helped me build confidence once I'd gotten about halfway there in preparation for the test.
It took just under a year from start to finish with about 27 lessons in total but I finally passed my test yesterday/ First time AND on my birthday too. :D
I don't have a car as of yet but I should have a classic Mini by the end of the month. Video is still awesome BTW! 8)
this vid is a fail, look at the window, its a green p before green its red for 1 year then greens for 1 year so all you done was filmed yourself driving, and to get your green p's takes 5 mins on the computer.

remember my first drive solo bout 5 months ago i was a little scared lol cos i had never driven my car before. I got a 106 1.1 L 1998 its a great little car for my first car it has no power steering but dosent matter its fine to drive.

Hiya :) The Fiesta was car #1, I'm on #3 now after 3 years. The Fiesta was a fine car to drive and ideal as a first one - it needed some new bits like a clutch and shock absorber but thats pretty much what you can expect on a used 1995 car. If you fancy one, definately try to find one with power steering because otherwise you'll have to wrestle with it a bit at low speeds, i.e. parking etc. :) But yeah, overall it was ideal for my first wheels and it was very cheap to buy and run. @d0pefish yeah, main thing to look for (and really look for well - with a good LED torch) is underbody rust poke stuff feeling for soft bubbles of rust - Ford did a crappy underseal job, check all of the floor (footwells especially) and the back where the rear subfrm meets the bodyshell - the latter if bad fails MOT. KA is far worse than Fiesta, KAs rust bad within 2 years.
The MK3 was especially bad, but the MK4 is also prone to it - ask any mechanic why the majority of Fiestas fail their MOTs.

I've been driving alone with my permit only the whole time. As long as no cop catches you, your fine. Of course I have my license now.When I first got my license, I had this urge to speed, I love speeding around town by myself.

I did a couple of lessons with a different driving instructor just before my second test to get used to having someone new in the car, worked a treat and i passed with 2 minors when last time i was all nervous and got 3 majors and 6 minors, maybe something to think about if its nerves for you? Only had 11 lessons so far. Taking about 2 a month as they're quite expensive. £25 p/h with my instructor in a Séat Ibiza TDi. I love driving though. So much fun. Just can't wait for my independence!

Cheers for the 5* bud. :) You will love the independance, I drive up and down the country these days. Driving lessons are expensive but are well well worth it.
Get all the practice you can with a parent or friend sitting in as a passenger - it helped me build confidence once I'd gotten about halfway there in preparation for the test.

It took just under a year from start to finish with about 27 lessons in total but I finally passed my test yesterday/ First time AND on my birthday too. :D
I don't have a car as of yet but I should have a classic Mini by the end of the month. Video is still awesome BTW! 8)

this vid is a fail, look at the window, its a green p before green its red for 1 year then greens for 1 year so all you done was filmed yourself driving, and to get your green p's takes 5 mins on the computer.
