  • Javaris "THE MURDERER" Critter

  • Marc Gasol may become a good player, but at the time, the Lakers gave up KWAME BROWN, an accused murder (Javaris Crittenton), a guy near the end of his career in Aaron McKie, and the rights to Marc Gasol...right now, it boils down to Pau for Marc and nothing.

  • Of course Kobe would be so happy to talk about it---he hated Kwame Brown.

  • magic such a buzzkillington

  • "he's a nice guy" ROFL

  • The Gasol-Brown trade was like a Wall Street deal going on in the NBA.

  • @Hishman007 good one LMAO..

  • "This was a swindle" lolz

  • LOL @ chuck "thats like when we ripped the Indians off for all that"

  • @ smoothmm, okay now Marc is now a really good talent there is no disputing that, but he's not at pau Gasol level yet. Pau had a bad playoffs so what, you can't win them all. I expect pau this coming up season to remind everyone why he's a 4 time all star and 2 time champion nuff said

  • @Imakeufml the lakers played 3 finals thats like a whole other season for the starters. they need rest they ll b fine since the lockout

  • Guess Memphis is getting the last laugh now. They're on the rise with Marc Gasol while the Lakers are declining with Pau Gasol.

  • that wasn't a trade, that was a swindle

  • This shows how much of a fucking hypocrite Charles Barkley really is. A couple of nights ago on TNT he said that everyone hatin' on the Pau Gasol trade was stupid because Memphis got Mark Gasol in return. Two years ago he was the one hatin' on the trade!

  • @Jmoney321654987 Around that time Pau was overall better than Marc.

NOW MARC IS BETTER THAN PAU

  • @WilsonT011 Totally agree. Memphis is getting the last laugh. Marc is the better big man now.

  • lolll yeah and u create a team that going to beat u every year that really smart...smh

  • "he a nice guy..." lol

  • Realistically, though, the Grizz got an amazing young player to groom in Pau's brother Marc Gasol... Who was actually the dealmaker in the trade.

  • Stole from the Indians... LMFAO

  • Swindle!!!lmao.

  • He's a nice guy lol

  • More reason of how the NBA is rigged for LA.Magic drafted 1st in 79 after Lakers finished 47-35,lost in conf semi finals.James Worthy drafted 1st by LA after LA won the championship the previous year.Pau Gasol traded for Kwame Brown.

  • @Zeke4TV fuck thats all LA does anyway is cheat ...big time but no matter how you look at it gasol is the one that turned that franchise around cheating trade

  • @AutomatikZ187 yep theyve been to 3 straight Finals since the trade and is about to go to 4 straight, which hasnt been done since Bill Russell era,and Kobe had the nerve to call Pau Gasol "White Swan",Who was black swan in Game 7,Pau Gasol 19points 18 rebounds,Kobe 6-24 23 points.

  • crackalafagas said it best........a yugo for a rose......the worst trade ever......anyone got one.worst please inform me

  • thats like how they ripped the indians off of everything..lol

  • lakers trade:kwame brown and draft picks(used to draft marc gasol)

    grizzlies trade: pau gasol

  • Wasnt Gasol and Expiring Contract?

Meaning after the season was over he would be an unrestricted agent being allowed to sign with anyone?

At least Memphis got some extra draft picks for him.

  • @Nhzharuthopar yeah but it was about the championship and kwame brown being traded for someone like gasol is 1 time opertunity. though the contract wernt good it was a offer at the championship near enough. Plus trading kwame at the time was no loss at all

  • @Nhzharuthopar i think he was signed for another year after that has well,

  • charles barley suck!!

  • Lakers traded a yugo for a rolls royce !

  • memphis got a younger version of pau to go along with there other young players, mayo and rudy etc i think them and the thunder will be dominating in a few years

  • one thing bout kobe he stands by his teammates, like first kwame and recently he stood up for adam morrison

  • LeBron James is way better than KB (Kwame Brown)

  • @waytoogangsta ..... WTF. sry but wat?

  • LOL AT KENNY " a trade is equal values.. u get somthin in return " LMFAO

talkin about the swap of pau gasol for kwame brown lol

    mitch a genius

  • Lakers organisation would like to thank the Grizzlies ... buddy ole' pals for helping us get our 15th/16th and probably 17th/18th/19th championships

  • Kobe-"kwame is my man"

    Charles-"He's a nice guy"

    LOL

  • @andyandudok LOL.

  • "THE JET" SMITH KENNY. MAAAAAAAAH MAAAN

  • hahaha Charles on Kwame "Hes a NICE guy"

  • I love how everybody thinks Lakers only gave up Kwame for Pau..YOu do realize Memphis received 4 players (including draft picks) for one player, right? Also a good salary dump for Memphis as well

  • @crazedaarson memphis havent made the playoffs sinceso get out here if they would have kept gasol . imagine how good they would be . fuck draft picks kwame brown is a bonafide scrub okay. lakers basically robbed the grizzles with tem knowing . its was a conspiracy to get the lakers in contention . because they are a popular franchise so the grizzles said okay you guys can have our allstar player i. it will appease kobe and keep the lakers on top . trust me no one is that stupid haaaa

  • @ryanr20091 u do realize that they used the cap space that they got off gasol to get randolph right?? i love Pau but Zach Randolph + Marc Gasol is very good also

  • @ronaldok20 you heard kenny thats not a damn trade . marc gasol is okay . pau is superior by far .randolph hes a stats guy anyway they still havent made the playoffs. thats the goal and they would have been contender with pau .

  • @ronaldok20 so are they better team with what they have nope lol . hell they are in the same boat

  • @ryanr20091 im saying kenny was right then but its not true anymore.. it was not a donation and for the future it seems like a good trade to me.. and Memphis was not gonna be a contender even though Pau is this good, one of the top 10 players in the league..

  • they got marc gasol, he's pretty good, but they didnt know that yet.

  • I was in a trip with my school. I was sleeping and when we stoped for a break, one of my friends baught a sports newspaper. When i woke up he told me: "Gasol is a Laker now on." and i said " wtf? they gave lamar and bynum or something?" he said "no, kwame". and i said WTF?????? And I started to laugh. Lol I love this trade.

  • They're right. Iy wasn't a trade, The Lakers swindled to Griz outta their best player and gave them Kwame Brown. BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • @ChiTownWarrior1 they got marc gasol who they thought could b better than pau

  • @ChiTownWarrior1 conspiracy thats all it is . i mean no one is that damn dumb . look this is a trade that my 10 yearold brother would have decline on nba live dynasty mode come on . I refuse to believe grown people in that profession are that incompetent . i just refuse to believe that shit thats the only conclusion there is lol . kwame brown should be in the damn d leagueshit if that haaaa he s horrible

  • THAT WASNT A TRADE LOLOLOLOL

  • sir charles... is a dumbass.

but was a monster on court.

  • omg this has the syncing of a chinese movie..with english subtitles

  • @HP24Laker Ha! Having suffered through many of those movies, I feel your pain.

  • Kobe was trying not to laugh lol!!!

  • Kobe was trying not to laugh lol!!!

  • barkley's kinda fat

  • Could the sound be more off? Good vid otherwise, tho

  • @KOFSoldier Yeah, I have no idea why that happened... it happens w/ a lot of the vids I export with Quicktime.

  • pau is the world mvp

  • do u think gasol is one of the 10 best basketball players all over the world????

  • @mrdeivid91

honestly maybe, u can argue that he is

Pau Gasol is a very unique big man and by watching his game im sure everybody knows why,

he's very versatile, he's a good rebounder, hes not a great defender because of his toughness he is and always be soft but he can alter shots because of his length, he beats the other big men down the court, excellent passing big man, just knows his role can hit the 15 foot jump shot, can pick and pop, can shoot free throws has a post game so u can argue it

  • No question about it, he's the best bigman in the game.

  • Well that depends if Tim Duncan is considered a center or PF.

  • Kobe looked like he didnt wanna b there LOL

  • If it's 90s, I wouldn't believe that one day one of the NBA's top 3 centers is a white player. It happen today.

  • ur fucked... ur name sounds azn... bill walton kevin mchale ostertag, brad miller, dirk, and now bargnani is top 3 in scoring centers...a fool is what u re clearly

  • @andykennery

Hey big head, ask this question to some pro: Gasol, Bargnani, who is better?

Don't ask me, last finals Gasol on Horward, he limited Horward's score and played really good.

08 finals, when Kobe played below his level, Gasol still stable in that series.

Gasol may not as good as centers like Shaq, Dream..., etc. But he surely the top 3 today, he is smart and skilled, even his dribble is really good.

  • your point was not how good gasol is but that in the 90's you wouldnt have thought any white man could be top 3 centers in the nba... my point was to show u thatat least one white man has been top 3 centers almost every season since the 90's. dont get your arguement confeused lil man

  • @andykennery Gasol is top 3 in today's era, it's for sure, not only he can play both defense and offense, but also he can play as team player. Also he is smart and has really great FT.

I mean, he will not disapear like those good white centers in 90s, he will remain top 3 til he retire or getting old, I bet he can. It's really hard to imagine he will fade in recent yrs n he is that good in this era.

  • @andykennery I even consider he is better than Horward in some ways, first he is taller, second he is a better team player and smarter. Third he has no weakness because his FT is also great.

Even he is not as powerful as Horward, but when they match up each other, you can tell he is able to limit Horward, and Horward can't limit his offense.

  • Howard could limit his offense. Didn't you see how many blocks Howard had on Gasol in Game 3.

The thing is for all the talk about how "soft" Gasol is, he kept taking it to Howard and Howard was the one that backed away. Howard practically curled into a fetal position and started sucking his thumb in game 4.

  • He's not even really a center dude, sure he plays it but he's a true PF. He's tall but slinky, too mobile and too I don't want to say weak but light to go up against most centers in the league... which is why he's considered a PF.

  • @andykennery dude he said top 3 and you named OSTERTAG LMAO dude was in leage wat 8 years maybe and never did crap and brad miller not top three hes good but never top 3 and dirk aint never been a center wth is this guy talkin about and so wat the dudes name sounds asian

  • yap but in 80s, NBA had Jabbar, Dream, Ewing, D. Robinson. Thats big different from today.

No other centers better than above centers I mentioned in 80s. Top 3? Maybe PF.

Celtics in 80s was special, their primary offense players were 2 white, but they both were legend.

  • actually hes a PF but he plays as a C when called apond but i agree he is the best PF in the game and close second is KG

  • ROFL, the greatest swindle.

  • the deal wasnt one sided when u look at it in full detail. the lakers basically gave memphis the little brother and LA got the big brother. marc is in his 2nd season and hes avg 15pts 11 rbs and 1 blk. pau's career avg is 18pts & 8rbs 1blk. now look at that && tell me is that deal one sided now. plus memphis cleared up alot of salary cap space. memphis looked at it how i did. in a year we get the little brother && we aren't in playoff contention anyway so what its gonna hurt.

  • True, but that's hindsight. No one knew then how Marc was going to adjust to the NBA. I'd keep an eye on the youngest Gasol brother if I were an NBA GM.

  • The Memphis GM said the day of the trade that they never would have made the trade if Marc Gasol was not included.

  • @mbooker23 I read in a magazine that after the trade the already low ticket sales got even lower. Memphis is cash starved, I agree with you it was a good trade in the long run but dang I dont think it turned out the way it was planned because memphis has nothing to offer to all-star free agents.

  • @mbooker23 acutally i disagree cause you knew what you had with pau. Marc is playing good now but pau lead memphis to its only 2 playoff appearences and there only 50 win season. You traded your franshice player for players not yet developed and players not capable of competiting at the highest lvl. In this video alone they say there 32-7 with pau, where as they barely won 44 the year before. Back then it was a joke of a trade and still is, they were all laughing.

  • @mbooker23 So...going to 3 finals and winning 2 rings to.......no playoff appearances? yeah, not one-sided at all.

  • @mbooker23 thankfully, the deal was one-sided. The Lakers have been to the finals each year that Gasol has been on the team. Let's see...they gave up draft picks, Kwame Brown, Marc Gasol, Javarris Crittenden. Could the Lakers have made the finals with that group...unlikely. Pau was the missing piece, as long as Andrew Bynum is healthy.

  • @mbooker23

Acutally, Memphis was dumping salary. - No one knew Marc was going to be any good. - Easy to say after the fact, but during the time no one knew. - I mean that's like Blake getting traded for Taylor before anyone seen Taylor play or Robin being traded for Brook or Gerald for Dominique. It's extremely rare to have brothers who can both play in the NBA. Add that to the rarity of foreign players making the transition to the NBA - how could one tell?

  • @onn1320 Faith. Play the waiting game.

  • @SmoothMM

Again. Easy to say after the fact. - If I heard ppl saying that the day of the trade then it would be a creditable statement.

  • @onn1320 It was a good trade for the Lakers' immediate future: I'm not discounting that. But many organizations invest their time and money on players to develop and become good/great players... Before the fact. Some become a hit while others become a miss. It's not like Marc Gasol didn't have skill at the time: he was just overweight and out of shape then.

  • @SmoothMM

I know many organizations invest in the "future" - But the Grizzlies wasn't investing - they were dumping. - It's called a salary dump. Marc wasn't over weight the day of the trade. They had no idea Marc was going to be this good no more than they knew K.Love was going to be a beast when they traded him. Or Tabeet would suck when they drafted him. "It's not like Marc didn't have skill" - You can use that same statement for Hamed Haddadi and a ton of other players.

  • @onn1320 And the statement would be true. Marc wasn't overweight on draft day because he worked himself into shape over the year or so span. Lakers acquired Pau during 2007-2008 season; Marc came into the league 2008-2009 season. And teams dump salary to get younger players to rebuild their team. They knew Marc would be good by scouting and watching him play overseas prior to entering the NBA, but not as good as he is now.

  • @SmoothMM

How would the statement be true when tons of young talent don't turn out to be what scouts expected. TONS. If the statement was true even 50% of the time players like Hamed Haddadi would have an actual role on a team. Marc's a big dude, but he never had weight issues. He didn't work his self into shape over a year - He just continued to play in his Country like a lot of international players do after they are drafted into the NBA.

  • @SmoothMM

Overall - Marcs whole situation is an after the fact situation. No one knew. - If someone thinks a young player will be that good based on scouting reports alone, then they'd be no such thing as "Busts"

  • @onn1320 You quoted that I said "It's not like Marc didn't have skill". That statement would be true for "Hamed Haddadi and a ton of other players" because teams wouldn't have been interested or drafted them if they didn't have some type of skill set, whether offensively, defensively or rebounding. Guys like Haddadi and may have skill but play better in different teams' system, which is why they may/may not get playing time (although Hamed got more time in the playoffs).

  • @SmoothMM

players that IF - they suddenly became assets to a team - ppl would suddenly start saying - "Oh that was a good deal" - I mean there's over 40 players drafted every year - that teams go after because of "skill set" - Having a skill set doesn't mean they will flourish in the NBA. -

  • @onn1320 *Sidenote: Having a skill set gets you started in the NBA. You have to expand that by working smart and learning what to do and when to do it.

  • @onn1320 *Sidenote: Some players you know are good beforehand. Whether it's a gut feeling, an instinct, based on previous play or how they pick up the game mentally. Player's don't determine what position (number) they're drafted: the teams do. But it's up to players to put in time to learn, work and try to perfect. Just saying.

  • @SmoothMM Marc did have weight issues. That's fact. Many organizations invest their future on player's based on the level of potential, before they're considered a bust or good. Marc had plenty of potential, put the work and time to develop his game and is now a potential All Star in the future. That's why I say play the waiting game: teams hit & miss but it's a chance worth taking. Especially when you're already in rebuilding mode, hence the "salary dump" you stated earlier.

  • @SmoothMM

OK - then explain why no one was raving Marc before the fact? Also explain why more than 1/2 the players with a "skill set" never make it. Explain why there is such a thing a "bust" - Explain why Olowakandi was a #1 pick, Explain why Landlord Williams was a top 5 pick, explain why Gerald Greene played in different systems and never stuck with an NBA team. And these are just a small fraction of examples of players that teams went after because of "skill set" - continue..............

  • @onn1320 Whoa, you're going in another direction. I was talking about Marc Gasol and team investment in players. You're bringing up other stuff. Teams weren't "raving" about Marc because he was overshadowed by other good players. Team's hit and miss. Some players live up to the potential; others don't. Some players play better in other's system; some don't. That's why you play the waiting game and see. Am I missing something? Because that's my original statement/argument.

  • And they also got 2 first round picks, though the next one is going to probably be #30 pick.

  • lakers ar known for stealin gplayers thas y i love them gasol for kwame and do u guys remeber kobe for divac

  • well the best happened for Memphis was in Marc Gasol, But Damn It was pau Gasol, a Steal man, I still can't believe they trade him for Kwame Brown LOL, One of The greatest Steals ever

  • The trade was not for Kwame Brown, Kwame (and Aaron McKie)was the filler to make the trade work based on salaries.. It was for Marc Gasol, Javaris Crittenton, 2 first round picks, and it enabled them to cut 33 million dollars from their payroll. And now Marc Gasol is probably a top five center in the league!

  • true say things looking up for the Griz..im keeping tabs on those young gunners

  • i wonder how memphis fans reacted.....i know if i was a memphis fan i'd throw a tantrum!!

    im glad ima Laker fan

  • Memphis fans? There's no such thing as Memphis Fans! LOL

  • haha yeahh what am i talking bout memphis fans!!!!

  • yeah they're arenas are always empty.

  • @sehoujay-yea as a matter of fact i spoke to a "fan" and they still to this day didn't realize he was traded. they confused him with the other gasol. lol just kiddin.

  • i'm a Memphis fan.

  • u must be dam proud ;)

  • Hell Memphis sucks from day 1 to today.

  • @MattSaucee24 honestly the trade was nice for them believe it or not

they got picks such as sam young/darrel arthur.

and they got marc gasol and just 4 years after the trade they went father in the playoffs than the lakers lol.

so it worked for both partys

  • @Thiagosilva2487 yeah the lakers got rings, and memphis got.......... oh yeah "The first 48". gotcha. this wasn't a trade, this was a Jack move. kwame brown work at the walgreens by my crib. He can't even block a parking spot.

  • @HIMSELF157 cool joke man! really hate when scrub ass kids who didnt make it 2 college ball let alone the NBA hate on a player in the NBA, real cool stuff man!!

  • man, people are never going to let memphis live this trade down lol...glad ima laker fan

  • Productive comment! Thank you!

  • check out the new laker anthem on my page! by KTC

  • hes good isnt he?

  • Yes.

  • very good.

  • Jjburkholder aka dickholder makes nothing

  • Comment removed

  • Now the trade for me was fair, noone knows in the USA how good was Marc Gasol, he is all star potential like his brother.

  • Marc is a monster, not as much finesse as his brother but makes up for it in overall toughness and power, he had a game where he made Garnett look like a bitch, let him gain more control and he should help the NBA's resurgence of big men

  • lmao

  • Lol Jerry West retired a few years ago.

  • i wouldnt say david stern was involved. i'd say jerry west who played for the lakers and was GM for memphis was involved. just like kevin mchale traded garnett to his old team, the celtics.

  • That was Memphis' trade to make, don't blame that on David Stern. Marc Gasol is a good player and Kwame had an expiring contract. They obviously gave up more talent than they got but they have cap space to get some free agents now. Pau was 27 and they weren't going anywhere so they traded him.

  • The trade was for Marc Gasol not for picks or expiring contracts

  • its like ripping the idians ofF??

    man he is funny lol

  • I heard Kwame knew how to throw some sick party's. lol.

  • hahahaha SO true Agree with Kenny 100%, Pau Gasol was a damn Donation to the Lakers LOL but good for them can't blame them for Memphis being so damn stupid

  • @OTKP yes you can its called robbery they stole pau gasol haaaa

  • @OTKP memphis is like the most unlucky draft and trade team in history just look at some of the amazing players they turned down they got kendrick perkins turned him away and traded.... they could've got tyreke evans or steph curry they didnt they got hakeem...

  • darn ginobli :p

    2-1 no sweep :(

  • Darn Ginobili and his bald spot!!

  • ok, gracias tete

  • y no podrias subirla tambien? :)

and could you upload that part aswell? :)

  • I'm sorry, I already deleted the file :( He basically says the same things he has said many times: Pau is a great addition to the team because he is so talented, etc. etc.

  • yea, because everyone in the world speaks English....

    Ignorant dumbass..
