  • 1:04 SeaNanners, what are you doing here? O.o

  • I'm impressed

  • big help! thnx sir

  • I'm Amazed by your work! And to see that you are a great professional, like there should be all around the world, I'll bring the most of my friends to see all your works, so that could bring you success!

And again congratulations and keep on!

  • that was so awesome that I have to ask. How does one learn to do that? I can follow the tutorial quite well, but you have talent man. You can't get around that either. Just Awe - Some!

  • question: if its all in different layers, how do you make them blend together?

  • @meeena97 You blend the one one top so it seems like your blending it with the ones underneath. Or merge them all together and blend, though probelm with that is that it becomes all one layer and you cant make it seperate again without deleteing history....

  • @Autumnleafff thanx for explaining (Y)

  • @meeena97 no problem ;)

  • now i totaly know that i must keep to draw! i must be learn so much :O my drawings are not so good as her drawings and i dont play so good on piano like her shes so awsome!

  • does the stylus make a huge difference

  • @Mylz24 When sketching and doing details...yes, it makes a huge difference...

  • anybody else got the radial blur and the blue and white colors at the end working???

  • Quick question. The essence is that you use shadow 1 and light 1 to give volumes (they both get Gaussian blurred or just shadow 1?) and then shadow 2 and light 2 to make the details pop up?

Second question: I didn't quite get one thing, the shadow of the shirt on the skin is in the shirt shadow layer or in the skin shadow one?

By the way, this is great, excellent idea to make a tutorial and a "documentary" of you drawing it, makes it easier to understand what you do.

  • @matprayerGalletti Thanks a lot. 1, use the gaussian blur if needed or if it is on detail you can use the smudge tool instead. 2, If the shadow is on the kin, draw it on the skin shadow layer.

  • Me again, when I hide the gradient map layer. I can see the background when I try to paint it blue and white. Should this layer be someplace else? It is in the right place but I don't know maybe it has something to do with the version of the software I am using?

  • This is so frustrating, so close to be done and now I have problems. I skip past the color problem I am having in hopes of doing the other stuff and going back to it but now I cannot color in white and blue with a big brush on the background layer. It just paints in shade of brown like it is screening or color dodging. The brush is set normal opacity is 30% like it is suppose to be too. What is wrong?

  • I was doing good until I got to the part where you have to color the shirt on the color layer. I colored it but the next step says, "in the layers panel, choose color for the layer "color". I don't understand. There is effects and a color overlay but I am not sure what you mean by choosing color. Where do I find this. I also should let you know I have Photoshop CS5. Some of the CS3 features are no longer available. Could this be one of them? Is there another way to color eyes, teeth and shirt?

  • @j2cool2 "color" is on the top left of the layer panel with "overlay", "multiply"...

  • @StephanieValentin Thank you, Stephanie. I will try to finish now. I had not been working on it lately. I had surgery on my neck which affect my ability to do any work but I am hoping to get back soon once the swelling subsides. Thank you.

  • @j2cool2 Then I wish you a speedy recovery ;-)

  • @StephanieValentin Thanks so much!

  • how do you get photoshop i want to use it but i can't afford it...any alternatives?

  • this is great. i'm a huge comic book fan

  • yah i cant do this with a mouse, i give up.

  • I'm gonna do this now! Like I'm starting..... NOW! GO!

  • i went to your website and if thats you in the vid you are :O

  • WOW! it really amaze me!....nothing really compare to Adobe photoshop!...unlike sketchbook hard to amnipulate! UR SO GREAT!!! (wave)

  • .....and kids if you just look to the right you'll notice how Photoshop is kick~arse! Nice work

  • your videos are great! hehehe I'm going to have fun in my 2danimation class later tonight because of these. :D Thanks!

  • Marvellous video. But I have a question. The color bfbfbf is grey, and the tutorial it's skin. I don't know... Not that I do badly. Help me please..( My bad Englishman excuses)

  • @happyhoolligan I had the same problem. I just made a similar skin color using these numbers d6a370. I hope this helps, if you have not gotten an answer by now.

  • merci merci merci merci merci merci merci merci merci merci !!!!!!!!

  • is the gradient map acting on the shirt shadow and light but not on the shirt colour?oh and thanks for earlier replies

  • You are so awesome and your tutorials are very helpful. Thanks so much for sharing!

  • thanks for the help.I need to ask you one more thing, how can we open 2 different pics on the same photoshop page?i like to make one a background but when i open another pic,it opens up at another tab in photoshop.

  • @subarustarz Open the two files and drag and drop ont to the other. You will have 2 layers on the same document.

  • @StephanieValentin thanks ,i got it finally

  • whats SRB?

  • how can you make a gradient map/adjust ment layer that you said ?

  • @subarustarz You can find the explanations with screenshots in my "Photoshop basics" in digital painting/free tutorial (text) on my website (link under the video) I hope it will help you.

  • @StephanieValentin ty,um i have one more question,i have sent it to your address, could u please check your youtube inbox when you have the time, thanks.

  • :)

You make it look so easy...

I hope that when I get my Wacom tablet, That It WILL be this easy.

    :D

    <3

  • how can someone dislike this?? It's great!!

  • I dare you to draw a realistic Batman!

  • C'est magnifique!

    J'adore tes vidéos :)

  • hey there ...nice tutorial...good job! and i have a question...when start cr8ing the layers...1st layer is sketch 1? or background...cuz when i have made the adjustment layer...and ive started to to paint the skin..in the layer skin..when i use the color bfbfbf on the layer...the color is some sort of grey...not the skin color...if un understand what im saying...:)

  • @lucitm ihave fixed that..but ive faced another problem...when i have put the shadows...with black and withe...my GB at 15px dosnt change to much...:(

  • @lucitm You can adjust you gaussian blur as you want, each drawing is different and sometimes requires different settings.

  • super stéphanie! continuez la belle travail svp

  • excuse me, what are the percentages for the gradient map?

  • tt mes respects stéphanie c du super extra mega bon boulot

  • I love how you call this "Semi-realistic" when most drawings at this standard would be called extremely realistic!

  • I would really like to learn how to draw, but the first step is the sketching the actual shapes. Do you know of any good and basic tutorials for how to do that? My friend gave me a tablet for my birthday and I have been dying to learn, but everywhere I look people giving the tutorials assume you already know how to draw. :P I am a noob at it but I would like to learn.

  • @BGVassil Try to redraw pictures that already exist. You can find a lot of them on the internet. Eventually you will understand the basics of each one. In time you will memorize how to draw them, and you wont need a picture of reference. Good luck. :D

  • can you use a mouse lol

  • another good vid 10/10

  • amazing skills!!!

i am totally noob with photoshop and i am trying to follow this tutorial but im stucked in the part of the shadows, when i try to draw the shadows the layer of the skin doesn´t let me see it. it is like the skin layer is over all of the layers. i dont know what im doing wrong :(

sorry if you cant understand because my english isn´t good.

    P:D: i am using photoshop CS3 and i´m your fan :D

  • @deoxysprince Thanks ;-) On my website, you could find a tutorial about Photoshop Basics, I hope it could help you. What is the blending mode and the opacity of your shadows layer ?

  • @StephanieValentin

    the blending mode= normal, opacity=100%

but i changed the blending mode of the skin layer to multiply and it seems to solve my problem but i´m not sure. thanks for your quick reply.

  • you're GOD

  • if i could draw like this, doesnt matter if with a computer or on paper with pencil. id probably paint all day long the things i have in my head. nice work

  • You're just sooo talented...

  • what about dpi, whats tthe resolution you usually use?

thanks, amazing artwork and great music too!

    cheers from Mexico!

  • @miasmesia dpi doesn't effect the size of the document in terms of pixels. a 2800 x 2100 px image will be the same size regardless of dpi. dpi is more or less for printing. 150 is the minimum if you want a decent print.

  • what about dpi, whats tthe resolution you usually use?

thanks, amazing artwork and great music too!

    cheers from Mexico!

  • what the.. how is that even possible to make? you should be a proffesional!

  • sus

  • how important is it to have the document at that size? 2800X2100 px . what would be the reason to make it that size..thanks!

  • If you do less, you have to take a more little size for the brush.

  • it says the music is by you too?

if it is, I must say wow!
