Just to end, I was under the impression that these were a modified regular or original fit when it seems the base model for these is actually a skinny. I love the look of Levi's, but the consistency can be horrible (i.e. not actually measuring as advertised), and the descriptions on the website deceptive.
Again, a warning: these are actually skinny jeans with slightly more room in the waist and thigh.
I ordered a 508 Slim Taper, and that turned out to be too tight. Basically a skinny. I thien got some 520's from the online store in 30x32, and got them and they were actually 32x30 when actually measured. The already super-skinny leg opening was only 12", a full inch smaller than advertised. Now, I'm not a big guy by any means (5'11", 135 lbs), but I could barely sit down in either of these.
@KutTheNet : Actually, Levi's have the 'Matchstick' jean line, which I have seen on Levi.com and are of virtually the same type of fit as the 520 taper jeans. The Levi's Matchstick™ jeans are selvage though, so be expecting to pay $100+ for each pair.
Anybody know the difference between 520 and 521? I'm trying to pick which one. I want looser on thighs and up. And not super skinny at my calfs because I got big calfs lol anyways help me.
@fatboycelebrity The weird thing is that the 521's actually have a larger leg opening, but the 520's have more room i the thigh and waist. I'm still trying to understand why they did that. I have tiny calves (13.5"), and the 520's were still a bit more snug than I like pants to be. If they made the 520's with even just an inch or two larger leg opening, they'd be perfect.
i love this jean. i have one in revolver which i can no longer find (very upset), one in coated rigid, and im buying two more in black and tumbled eco. please bring back the revolver color!
@Breakfast4Supper : Sagging pants are a disaster! What the hell is wrong with you kids these days!? Sagging looks ridiculous. I'm all about slim fitting or skinny jeans; however, I'm from a different school. Aside from having horrible taste in music (those who listen to most contemporary garbage out there), a lot of youth have horrible fashion sense. The 80's and early 90's was the best era ever!
@Lunatic4Bizcas How is it a disaster? I wear super skinny jeans and slim fitting jeans and really sagging/"low riding" the jeans is alot better than wearing it all the way up. Really I don't want to look like a walking chicken leg. Unlike people like you who wear super skinny jeans and decide not to "low ride" and look like a total chicken leg. It looks really disgusting and disgusting music? Wth you're just looking at the wrong teenagers who listen to mainstream shit.
@shinn43 : The design and construction is a disaster. With Levi's skinny jeans, there is little room in the fly area, which is something typical of girl's jeans. Since there is limited room from the waist to the crotch area, these jeans naturally feel like they want to come down. Throughout the mid 80's to mid 90's, people who liked punk, metal or alternative music would wear very tight jeans that looked outstanding (most times they'd have them tapered), because they'd wear them waist high.
The jeans worn by male youth and young adults who had an affinity for the various genres of Rock music would either have their jeans tailored to fit more narrow or they'd find jeans that were made with a more narrow leg. Those were men's jeans that had a normal rise with sufficient room in the crotch area. Another thing is that the pockets in the back were not deliberately positioned low. Trust me, women still like a guy who wear pants that complement the glut area.
@shinn43 : From a video segment shown here on Youtube, the best slim fitting/skinny jeans out there are the Levi's 512's. The model they chose to showcase those jeans did not have them sagging and they seemed to sit at the waist, however, that's the impression I got from the video. I personally have not tried on nor come across Levi's 512 jeans myself.
@Lunatic4Bizcas I've seen the 512s. The 512s have that non-low rise waist, but more of a slimmer slim fit leg. The 510s/520s/511 however have that low-rise waist since "low-riding" have become a big trend.
@Breakfast4Supper : If one makes an observation of the Rock/Punk/Metal/New Wave/Alternative band members or fans of that type of music in the 80's and early 90's, most would wear very tight fitting jeans; however, they didn't wear them to look like they were falling off their asses!
@Lunatic4Bizcas Whoaa there buddy excuse my french, but what I meant by "sagging" is having the pants sit low on the waist. I personally wear only slim fitting pants, no need for the whole spiel on how 'horrible' a taste youth have these days.

@fatboycelebrity I own a couple of pairs of 521s. They look pretty much the same except that maybe that the 520s might rise a little lower.
MrBazingafy 4 months ago
@fatboycelebrity 521 is Slim Taper. It is pretty much 520 but tighter on the thighs and ass area. So for you, 520 would be the better fit.
