Sam Is 100% percent correct.....I remember them visiting us in SoCal..while we were seriously into locking and roboting in 1975.... a guy from Fresno came in 1976 with some very weird moves......and entered into the Hutch in LB dance contest.....he promised he would bring more cats from Fresno....or they would call it up north..to really enforce this new fresh style....I am 49...and I have been up and down this state ....this country in 1979.....I am a living witenss to boogaloo Sam as the king

If he was all that he would have come to the bay and tested his wares. Back then everydody in Oakland was trying to one up everyone, Guys were very creative. What I see today all over the world is a routed in the bedrock of what started in Oakland, it's a little more fluid, and has evolve in to many other variations and move.
