I love my EVO. I got it on Oct 2010 and I have no desire for any of the new phones at all. Even better if you root it, I use it's free wireless internet for my laptop and iTouch 4G. This device it's gorgeous!

@banannapeel5 Search "steps to saving battery on Evo" on google and there will be several tips that extend your battery DRAMATICALLY. I have done a few easy things to help save battery and I get anywhere from 14-16 hours now depending on usage.

I'm up for a new sprint phone, I was considering the Evo, but its an extra $10permo for 4G, but it has unlimited data, and 3G only has a 5GB limit per month, IS 5GB A TON OF DATA? , and i wont have to worry about going over? I don't use it for business, or is it worth the extra $10 a month for 4G im also concerned about the SIZE of the evo, if you recommend 3G, which Sprint phone should i get.

By not including the keyboard, they made it just a slightly different phone from the Droid, and shut out the visually impaired community. Guess the floundering sprint/centurylink/embarq, (whatever the hell their name is right now before the next bankruptcy) decided they didn't need the 20 million and growing visually impaired in the u.s (myself included).

well if your picky about speed, 3G speed is roughly 600kbps-1.7mbps where as 4g can get up to 6mbps but probably closer to 3mbps most of the time. Granted 3G is fast as is.

Yeah, I read that review as well. Streaming HD video is pretty demanding, but they didn't test the phone's battery life when using it as a mobile hotspot. I would assume that's more processor & battery intensive especially when 8 devices are connected to the network.

@DCuerpoJr Actually, what I meant was that they were tethered to their laptop and streaming HD video through the phone in HotSpot mode to their laptop.

Although, you're definitely not going to want to use it as your homes single source of internet running on battery power.

It'll be good for a car ride, wait in the airport or while out somewhere with your laptop. It's not going to run all day. Of course you could just plug it into one of the devices using the USB charger. :)
