  • rome total war??

  • I loved this game. I remember buying this game for $70 when it was released.

  • I remember I just kept going until 2000AD. Just for fun. The western roman empire under my rule lasted a hell longer than originally. :P

  • love the pc version

  • classic, I miss my Amigas

  • what a great game!!! was so smart!

  • rtw 1980s edition

  • that was funny :D..

  • my first rome total war... it was the base for loving strategy games for me

  • lol a bit diffrebt from now days

  • This game changed the COURSE OF MY GAMING LIFE!!!!

  • Centurion, prince of persia, seul olympics, fox, digger, prehistoric... good old times.

  • 0:57 XD

  • Extravaganza Games!

  • Bleed them DRY!!!!

  • 0:55 what perfect medics... xD

  • How i conquer britannia ??? i mean i cant move a legion ther , and i build my fleet and i cant either

  • @locids

Well, I really don't remember, but getting to Britannia is pretty much useless anyway (too far away from anything else).

Check the ships you have. One of them is able to take an "army" (it's not NEARLY as big as the ones you command on land)

  • Man, I mastered this game. I even chose to study the Classics because of this game!

I could finish this at the highest level, once I even took Parthia with a single Consular army. I just maneuvered the Cavalry and enflanked the enemy cohorts.

  • Me encantaba este juego de crío. Me acuerdo de que me rompí la muñeca, era uno de los pocos juegos a los que podía jugar con una mano, y estaba super enganchado.

Alguien debería subir la intro, que era muy buena

  • Scipio was the only general who could bang Cleopatra and conquer Eqypt with his c*ck

  • I guess this is one example where the Ad Lib music is much worse than the PC Speaker version.

  • This Game is awesome! remember playing it on my 386 :]

  • Loved this video game... great combat... though I rarely did anything about naval warfare...

  • Just clocked the game on winuae Emperor difficulty. Took a long time and it is basically impossible to hold Rome, only way is to retreat armies and let europe fight over it taking it back when you need cash from chariots. Almost made it without losing an army or gen., then lost three weakened armies in Armenia.

    Stats:

    Won in 177 BC

    Battles won/lost: 58/42

    Casualties Rome/enemies: 215,765 / 192,413

    8/0 Naval battles: 107 / 278 ships

    64 games. won 24/39 chariot

    tribute 9,702 bets 8137

    0 plunder:)

  • @FranticMydlo 0 Plunder!? Impressive... Also impressive is large amount of Naval battles.

  • @initvesa iirc, using plunder takes a turn for the army. And I was really microing mobility as much as possible. With the difficulty, last thing I neeeded to was to piss people off in the land i'd managed to hold. I pretty much ran like hell from maurauding armies, as you generally need at least 2-3 armies to win any fight by holdfast, retreat, and micro your horses to weaken and weaken them untill one army can actually take the field.

  • @initvesa oh, and I kinda built a navy just to take brittania, as it's a dope place to retreat everything to, and hide the navy in the north. That and you got to stop maurauding armies spamming out from there asap. Only way later in the game did I establish naval dominance.

  • Bad ass

  • era dificilisimo.- almenos para mì.- pasar de 1ro una carrera, claro cosa dif si envenenabas alos caballos del contrario.

    XDD

  • I am looking for a game that was on sega genesis. it was a very early real time strategy game. based in roman times. it was not warrior of rome 1 or 2, it was not golden ax, and it was not centurion.

If anynone has any ideas on what it was, let me know

  • genghis khan?

  • Wonderful! That was one of the first games I ever played. And what much could be done with just 687 kb (!!) of data! And I love the scene, when the red-cross-men throw the injured racer across the tray :->

  • @froth82 Wonderful Game, wonderful atmosphere, wonderful music.

  • Excellent game, loved it

  • That's a fricken awesome joke!

  • Great memories

  • Which version is this?

I don't recall this sound on my PC version...

    Maybe an AdLib sound card?

  • Maybe its running on an Amiga, although i does sound very PC'ish !?

  • @blade004 no this is the ms dos-version

  • bring back games that don't rely on shiney graphics eh people? long live the 90's!!!

  • just reminds me of how much I miss those good ol 90's games!

  • never ending game hehe

  • Ahh good old days

To win chariot race you had to go to the far right and then speed to maximum

And the best way to win a battle was

    Balanced army -> Stand fast

    Ahh good old days

  • Balanced army -> Stand fast only really worked against the retard barbarian armies who put their general up front and center. Try that against Carthage or Parthia on the higher difficulty levels and you are toast. I am playing this game right now on Dosbox and I found Balanced army-> outflank works better against the tougher enemies especially when you have consular armies. Then you go all melee on their asses.

  • I could have made a greater battle. Horses, archers and so on, but I enjoyed remembering this game. Thanks.

  • Awesome!

  • en qualquier web abandonware, como la selva del camaleon o ellos nunca lo harian

  • ¿Alguien sabre dónde me puedo descargar este juego?. Gracias

  • awesome game i used to luv it

  • I love paramedics scene in the colliseum. :D

  • Sppedball 2 ultimate win for paramedics forever. Everyone go play Elite now.

  • Liked the game back in the day: "Owned" it on my PC, (when I say owned, I mean I "owned" a pirated copy) (LOL) (I was 14 at the time and didn't know what piracy was)

  • Looks like the great grand-daddy of Rome: Total War.

  • Rome: Total War is based on Shogun: Total War which in turn took the idea from Centurion.

  • I used to love this game when I was a kid, probally why I really got into the "Total war" games now =)

  • This game is awesome. Of course you are terrible at chariot racing and you're playing on Galley Slave. At least play on Senator difficulty.

  • Someones got to put up a play through of the amiga version!!! Please!

  • it's a great game but not too much suitable for a movie on youtube I think (expecially the field battle parts which are a bit boring to look at)

  • The amiga version was the best. PC's still used to be quite naff then, but at least we pc gamers got the last laugh :)

  • used to be the best strategy game for amiga, if my memory serves me well.

i made tons of money on chariot racing ;)

  • Played it on PC and also on Sega Genesis both fun. :D

  • that was a cool game, played it alot.

  • this sounds like my old thrown away years ago Tandy 1000 HX. Finished the game many times :-)

  • Loved this game. Unfortunately when I was supposed to take over the last country and become emperor the game crashed.

  • Yeah this game was great.

  • nice game

  • What kind of crappy sound is this? Played on PC? On Amiga it sounded lovely, I later had only a squeaking PC- sound. So I turned it off. Wish here was the real Amiga Sound. :) But great game.

  • love this game

  • Good game!

  • a great game!
