  • japan is so healthy that it dont need a bigger car :P

  • What are the requirements for getting a driver's license over there?

  • Reminds me of the Citroen CV ... your basic rattle trap, though.

  • have you seen any electric cars in japan yet?

  • this car sold in Indonesia but with bigger engine. quick question, is that small street a two way or a one way street? in Jakarta, we have many small street like this but amazingly it is a two way !

  • Hey, where´s the NITRO button?? XD

  • XD it's like a toy! i've seen remote control cars in america bigger then your car! so cute!

  • Also sold in Europe as Suzuki Wagon R or Opel Agila, but apparently with different specs

  • ugh !!! eh wants a car like that ! v.v

  • How many dumbass's are on the Road over there?

  • Lol @ the Jesus pose.

  • fill the tank once every 3 weeks!! holy s%!$%!!!!!

  • what I'm saying is that a car,to be a kei car, just like your suzuki wagon r+ needs to have specific and peculiar features...a small car is not enough...from what i've seen!

  • a kei car...and white :D

common small cars for young people, very cheap and easy to drive...in europe there are a lot of smarts, that could be similiar if compared to the kei cars...but having a kei car, means mainly having a japanese car manufactured in japan, with japanese parts on it...

we could consider a 60's fiat 500 a kei car because of the size...but here in italy,it came with no specific license plate, while kei cars have a yellow plate instead of white!

  • wagon r was sold and at europe

  • the world should be downsizing to cars like this - instead Australians and Americans re going the opposite way - some days i am the only CAR on the street whilst everything else is an SUV / 4WD - so bad a times i cant even see where i am going all i can see is SUVs in front (and behind)

  • I WANNA CAR LIKE THAT ^^

  • @irinawolf Toyota Yaris is sold in Japan and here in the U.S.

  • cant imagine driving a ford f150 in japan

  • i like Japanese cars they use small engines but some how get really good HP out of em but for living in small areas they give them really big transmissions which i dont know why if some one could tell my why they need such big ones that would be great

  • i like u aloooooooooot, your personality is awsome xoxoxo

  • Lol... when I first started watching your videos and only saw this car from the inside, it looked like you were driving a huge pickup truck with an extended cab. When I saw this vid I had a major "WTF?" moment, haha.

  • kei car is 660cc engine.

    about 30-40L(7-10gal) fuel tank.

    10-20km/L(24-50mi/gal)

    max speed 120km/h(75mi,non turbo)

    turbo engine...over 160km/h

    but! if accident....

  • kei cars Ftw

  • They should import these cars to US, there might be a market for them.

  • I would have thought that bridge was pedestrian only, streets in Japan are entirely different than that of the U.S.

  • My KIA Picanto is bigger than this, and I thought that was tiny!

  • Suzuki Alto Works R = Turbo 63hp awd ftw!

  • Imagine driving a Hummer though one of those tiny roads...

  • if this is malaysia, that guy walking on the bridge would have ran over already..

  • wow i thought most aussies love their v8's , great video

  • two cars I'll probably own, a little japanese car like the one you're driving(maybe a Nissan Cube or something) and a sporty car because I need something nice to drift with

  • Forget Ferrari I love that tiny car :)

  • Funny

  • Man i LOVE Your videos!!! Planning on moving to japan later on in my life, Great guide! Thanks :)

  • I've been riding motorcycles since I was 10 years-old. When it comes to personal transportion outside the USA, its the most valuable skill you can have. Urban traffic is so bad in most foreign countries airlines have taken to offering professional riders to carry their business and first-class passengers around many European and Asian cities. No matter how good mass transit is, even you admit to the necessity of driving yourself. Parking M/C's in Tokyo is easy, and often free.

  • That's incredible, if they could create some cars like that in the US that were also affordable, I'd be first in line with card in hand lol. Keep up the videos very educational.

  • I fill mine up every 3 or 4 Days

  • Suzuki Karimun! It's so cuute.. But sometimes my mom likes to call it the soap-box car LOL My mom got it since about 2004, and it's still being used until now =D

  • can you bring your motorcycle from america

  • Our family had a sudziki liana.

It was The perfect family car in all aspects: roomy inside, but not bigon the outside, low fuel consumption, real easy to steer/drive, comfy for all passengers.

And despite its low clearance it crawled over any terrain (dirt, snow, gravel)

    - 4x4 and weights less than 1tonne(metric).

Shame it didn't last long - after 2 years we had as good as no more soundproofing.

If i could i'd crossbreed this car with toyota lasting quality.

  • I have a question, how much would it cost to import a car from the US to japan? I always wondered about that.

  • Is that a 3 cyclinder o.0? 650cc? Do you have trouble pulling u minorp hills without having to resort to 2nd gear?

  • redline at 8k rpm and stop at 10k rpm.And i was cocky about my Mazda.....lol

    Nice vids...Keep up

  • You are polite :) waiting for the dude to cross. Where I live they just rampage across, hoping that you will levitate or jump to the side of the bridge/street, because the rule of bigger mass applies ;[ damn wankers

  • The streets in Japan look like ALLEYS, here in America. wow!

  • now JP shortage of Gas its back to basic horsey Power unless there Nuclear Power car there..

  • its also a most popular and sold car in INDIA ... here its sold as Maruti Suzuki WagonR

  • wow kei cars, sweet i have a wagon rr-r in gran turismo 5

  • for my first month or so i am planning on getting a motorcycle and then getting a car because it is much easier to get around these small walking paths and stuff

  • I got a Suzuki Esteem here in the US, those things are bulletproof!

  • the air conditioner must must freeze the interior of the car in a sec

  • THESE SMALL CARS ARE EVERYWHERE IN THE AZORES (WHERE I'M ORIGINALLY FROM), IN CANADA WHERE I CURRENTLY RESIDE WE GOT THE SMART CAR BY MERCEDES A FEW YEARS AGO AND ITS KIND OF A JOKE TO MOST BECAUSE OF ITS SIZE ( THESE SAME PEOPLE ARE ALSO THE ONES WHO COMPLAIN ABOUT GASOLINE PRICES BEING SO HIGH) BUT THE FUNNY THING IS THAT I SAW SMART CARS IN MY BIRTH COUNTRY A DECADE BEFORE IT WAS RELEASED IN NORTH AMERICA AND LABELED AS THE LATEST AND NEWEST ADVANCEMENT IN CAR TECHNOLOGY .

    PS. ???????????

  • Now I know you are 6'3" as I am, but how does that car deal with a larger person weight/size wise? I'm 340lbs....would I even be able to fit in that car? Would the car become a low rider? LOL!

    -Billy-

  • So I guess driving a Hummer H2 there is a bad idea

  • now i know why my imported toyota SUV has folding mirrors,,,

  • your car has power steering?

  • thats not a car its a lunchbox! lol

  • 2 questions:

    are diesel cars common there?

do you see many sport / tuned cars?

  • Are most cars there with automatic transmission or with manual transmission ?

  • hey.. see you in nagoya when i can come=)) cause right now im boored and stucked on mitoyo shi kagawa ken

  • I learned about the Wagon R in GT5! Hehehe.

  • My wife had a Subaru Vivio (also 660 cc) while living in Macao. Those small cars are way better to great cities, where parking space is very rare. Big cars can be a headache there.

  • Let me guess 70 mpg? I had a geo metro that had the same engine great car for city driving pizza delivery was very profitable since it was like a motorcycle not a car when it came to refueling.

  • Great video!

  • I want your car. :) how long have you been living in Japan?

  • I love tiny car .save money.

  • u have a funny accent, sir

  • this guy is driving (stick shift), smoking, video recording, and commentating? Isn't there something he can't or doesn't do?

  • Dude, I just LOVE your videos! \ ToT /

I've been watching them for over a year, but somehow I missed this one. I remember those small "roads" (more like "paths") when I stayed with a host family in Kamakura. They are so cosy and idyllic! And once in a while I'd stumble upon a sake bar or a ramen shop. 懐かしいなー! Thank you for bringing back so many memories with your videos!

    Greetings from Belgium!

    Thijs (テイス)

  • @thijsseghers

There are 465 videos on this channel.. you might have missed a couple ^_^

    Thanks for watching!!

  • @thijsseghers how can you arrange to stay with a host family? pm me if you like...

  • 3 or 4 WEEKS??? A typical car here probably has to be refilled with gas every 3 or 4 DAYS for the average person, especially if they're real busy.

  • Wait wait wait wait waiiitt every 3-4 weeks? How much do you drive?!

  • Not only are those roads tiny but they also look very... cozy, really. It almost reminds me of the tiny spaces you see in Italy. I really love that area based on what I see here. It seems like a very comforting place to live.

  • On second thought... ehm, I just found out my car is 20cm wider then yours. I better not risk it. :S

  • I'd love to drive my Lancia Delta through those streets. Ghehe

  • I need that car!

  • Found out today that my beloved Chevrolet Kalos can do about 110 kph in third, at 5500 rpm. ^^ I love small cars!

  • hey hunk where is this, I am Japanese btw.

yes u got the point, you r right!

  • and some people say men can't multi-task!

Talking, driving and smoking at te same time! Thumbs up for pulling that off!

    xD

  • @wtfitna my father does that

  • @wtfitna that's all? I can have a plus one too that with my girlfriend ;)

  • SMALLER!!!!!!!1

  • How can you even tell they are roads. Id be afraid I was driving where cars arnt allowed to go. I hope they are all 1 way roads.

  • I'd be devastated to scrape those ancient walls xD

  • i guess to australians and americans it is tiny :) here in europe we're used to them, for the same reasons you have stated in your vid, hehehe

  • you can smoke while driving?

  • What are the speed limits in japan?

  • @jayjjj3 40-60 KPH in towns and 80 KPH in rural areas. Search for "Speed limits by country" in wiki. Since your country doesn't like the metric system, I'll let you convert it.

  • @04smallmj I was born in a country that uses the metric system (Kenya), and lived there for 9 years.

  • @jayjjj3 I wish my country was FULLY metric, we didn't get as far as swapping miles for KM...

  • lol amazing

  • If they had that car in America i would get it. Mainly for gas milage.

  • I'd love to have a car that here in the U.S. Perfect for the amount of driving I do.

  • I ... want ... one... ;^;

  • I have a 95 mazda miata, use it as my daily commuter, I only fill up 2 times a week. I've never seen a 3cylinder car.

  • Once every 3 or 4 weeks? I thought you were gonna say once every 3 or 4 days. Geez I need that car!

  • Nice car for your area, stick shifts are the best.

  • You probably don't answer questions about this video anymore, but I was just wondering how on earth they can move around with the cars on those tiny roads. What if some one comes up the same road with their car as you are driving - you can't get pass one another! Somebody has a bit of reversing to do I guess.. :)

Btw..love these videos! I hope I haven't seen them all yet. I watch couple of these every day :)

  • This town at near the nagoya air port

  • those arent roads for cars, those are walkways!

  • nice houses, i love japanese houses!

  • what motorcycles can you buy there and can you buy old ones like a Kawasaki ZX6R Ninja that is from 08? ..i know its a racing bike but still

  • i want little car like that .

  • What about the orange Nissan seen in some other vids?

  • It can do 100 in 3rd if you leave it accelerated enough.

  • my car is also a daihatsu move , and it attracts a lot attentions in Australia ~~~

  • thumbs up!

    tricky road and convinient car!

  • 5 Stars for the video, Wagon R is one of the best selling small cars by Maruti-Suzuki in India.

  • When you go to Seoul Korea you don't see these small cars. ????

  • K Car FTW!

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom

Are you in trouble buying clothes? COZ japanese guys are much smaller...

  • Lol! Love it. I'm 181cm and I reckon I wouldn't fit in it. xDD I also find it cool that Japanese have the steering wheel on the same side as Aussies. :) I can't stop looking through your videos, there's so many great ones.

  • Love your videos and dude you should get your self a racing car like from the movie to fast to furious tokyo drift xD

  • lol if you went the guy on the bridge would of gotten out of the way :D

    i would of tried it...

  • ooooo Man do you think my mustang will make it there? im planing to live overthere once i get enough money saved up, so i would like to take my pony lol

  • We have those Suzukis in the UK

  • Omg very cute car :D

  • what's your job there!

u have a job right? XD

    please tell us =)

  • Awesome. Amazing trip.

  • your car is awesome man!! ^_^

  • Wow, that would be tight for even my Z4, and that's a tiny car by American standards! I keep being amazed at how compact Japanese towns and cities are. And Seattle has some of those mirrors because some of the older parts of town have oblique angles. 5/5 for swift little cars!

  • thumbs up for small cars and long arms lol. wow i can see whre a small car would really be handy on such streets as that. i was suprised how narrow the car is when you stand in front of it.. hmm about like a cessna 172?

  • @worldtravel101

    More like a 152 ^_^

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom haha nice one =) hey do a vid about flying there sometime? ive seen the one you had up, but how is it renting planes there? such as the types we have just mentioned.

  • @worldtravel101

    More coming.

    ($1,000/hr for a 172!!)

  • all i see is a refirgerator with wheels

  • Less is more! If i was living there id prob ride a bicycle, motorcycle or a small car similar to yours.

  • in japan, is the wheel on the left like in america, or on the right?

  • @anime1lvr They drive on the left side of the road in Japan, so the wheel is on the right side.

  • Is your car considered a Kei-car?

Oh, nevermind. I see the yellow license plate. I want a a Kei-car. They look very cute :]

  • how tall are you? coz you look huge next to that car...

  • @fezzard

    189cm

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom Do you think a 195cm person would fit in a car that size?

  • @Danandria

    Sure

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom : the Wagon R is also on sale in the Netherlands. Dutch people are also very large (average 1.85m) but these cars are very common here and quite popular.

  • only thing is better than that car on little roads and that is motorbike

  • Pretty common Suzuki mini car in Asia

  • In the US there's a car that's even smaller, it's called a Smart Car, it's a 2 person coupe

  • @tonyz79 they have the smart car in Japan. In the USA small cars are only a tiny fraction of all cars, but in Japan almost every car is this small.

  • Yep, that's true

didn't know they had the smart car over there already though

  • that is made from Japan also , lol

  • fiat 5000 is great car in small road

  • There's spit on your window on 2:58 :(

  • Comment removed

  • not good for Claustrophobic peoples.....

  • we have wagon R in France too. Mine is its twin, an Opel Agila from 2000. that's my first car and I love it. You can bend the bench in the back and make a bed. I often sleep in it on holidays :D (secondhand cost 2000euros last year)

  • Can you buy these in America? Sorry if this was already asked I only looked through the past 20 comments.

  • Your car is awesome sir!

  • 3 cylinders 600cc - has it got a turbo-charger? Must have I suppose or it'd be so slow you would have a calendar on the dash rather than a speedometer

  • @bellsmyre49

This one has no turbo but some do.

This can cruise on 140km/hr at 4,000 revs all day..

  • The turbo must be a absolute rocket - I notice your car revs all the way up to 7500rpm.

Isn't there an inspection that cars have to get in Japan after they are a certain age - I've heard it's expensive

  • @bellsmyre49

Yeah, the turbo is awesome... I had one once.

Shakken is every two years and very expensive.

  • there is an expection every 2 years ,

  • @bellsmyre49

i have a Geo Metre ( like susuki Swift )

    3 cylinder , 990 or 1000CC ,

thats not because the motor is small that you cannot got fast ... my car is actualy like 2 time bigger than you and i can reach 130km/h with that ...

  • how much is a car like yours in Japan ?

  • @blackerrulez

only a couple of thousand to buy (mine is a few years old) but registration, insurance and parking is expensive.

  • lol that bridge looks too small to be driven on!

  • do many people have cars in japan? cause I heard it was expensive...

  • I live in the country.. everyone has them.

    Parking is expensive.

  • I miss my little car. Would be considered mid-sized in Japan, though. I am considereing getting an original mini coopah next year. I dont know how I will feel when it comes time to get it.

  • Minis are really popular here!

All exotic too, because they are imported :-D

  • I can imagine. I would modify mine as well. Keep it stock on the outside but a couple surprises on the inside;)

  • I have the exact same car here in Pune India. Only thing is that it has a 1100 cc 70 bhp engine. And obviously a newer make so feels a bit more modern. The current version has some external design changes too. works well with 4 bucket seats. Its called Suzuki WagonR here too. Not very stable on 6 lane roads that we have here.

  • 3-4 weeks? GODDAMN and my friend said gas is like $12 to the gallen

  • more like $4-5

  • still expensive 0_0

  • That car is so cute. LoL

  • LOL, you filled up your tank just for this video.

    5 Stars for commitment!

  • looks like you have much fun with your car haha. nice video. 5*

  • Yeah, I dig my tiny car :-)

  • Sounds like you need to live somewhere with wide roads :-)
