  • Its 6 to one half dozen to the other, you can't choose one based solely on performance. It comes down to personal preference, and i'll take the styling of the STI and the reliability that comes with the subaru name.

  • Get a STi and upgrade the suspension...DONE best of both worlds, That's what I did..upgraded them with JIC coilovers and upgraded the stock brembo rotors for bigger brembo's :] Could'nt be happier with it!

  • So wait a minute. You telling me that the Evolution's lineage was presented & praised all the way up until 2:58, where it is immediately shitted on by the STi's presence? 3:09 - This automatically owns the show from then on.

  • I agree with u utubenz576.... Evo all the way!!!!!

  • @robertcorleone1

its top gear tiff was in top gear back in the day

  • is not top gear is fifth gear

  • I want this old bug-eye STi that we never got in the states!

  • evo's and sti's i own a subaru, but they are still pretty much the same

  • SUBARU !!!

  • Since EVO 1's top speed is low than STI but

EVO 1 is fasters than STI in the corner.

  • this is "fifth gear". it was the crappy car show that the bbc scrapped and replaced with "top gear"

  • tru that , tru that ....... guerilla.

  • This isn't Top Gear!

  • Either way they are both great cars but SUBARU is a company of it's own and has less mechanical problems then Mitsubishi which with the bad Chrysler influence will produce inferior vehicles. The EVO is the only Mits I would be driving. But I wish in 01-03 the Sti and the EVO 7 should have been out in the US, WTF why???????????

  • EVO 7 was much fasters than the STI.

  • fuck both of them...SKYLINE

AWD AWS(all-wheel-steer) twin turbo straight six from the factory

  • lol its a inline 6 tard face

  • why arguing whitch one is better? i got both of them 05 WRX STI 06 EVO MR now getting 07 S2K

  • Has any of you ever been to Japan, the country who produce both cars. Go there and count how many people drive Evo rather than Sti, the ratio is about 3:1 as I saw over there.

  • what a silly comment -how many people drive a rolls royce??

  • 4g63t!!

  • good choice

  • fuck yeh mitsi for life!!!!!!!!!!

  • the way to drive a STI is different from the other cars`

  • yea u get all that under steer and u'll spin out as u watch the evo fly away

  • Or watch Jeremy Clarkson drive an STI to get an idea of how to deal with understeer. Its actually quite fun!!! I'll take the Subaru simply on build quality alone. Isn't it the Top Gear comparison where the Mitsu's interior is practically falling apart?

  • I work for a Mitsubishi dealer, we get so many damn sti's in for a evo9. When we go to sell them on the lot, they sit there for months. I rode both them and the evo has ten time more handling and speed than a sti. Sti feels like a boat, its fun how ever but a evo is more of track car so if your looking for a everyday car get a sti because a evo is built to race everyday.

  • the evo everyday, the sti suck, believe me.mitsubishi rule.

  • I forget, which car does Tiff choose??? LOL... I think the last words of the comparison, as Needell drives off with a major smile on his face is, "I'll take the Subaru". But then again, I can agree, I took the Subaru too. Wonderful car - love it as much as the day I bought it.

  • STi is a tank, the EVO is a jet. STi has more durability. STi is funner with it feeling more like a RWD car because of the torque split. Unless you manually change it to 50/50. The Boxer engine has that unique throaty sound, yet the 4G63 produces a cool sound also. When it comes down to it, I'd rather drive the Subaru, it's quicker, and on the track..if you know how to slide a little understeering won't be an issue=)

  • this i fith gear not top

  • The difference between an STI and an EVO is the EVO is electronic, the STI is all driver. If you want a car to drive, go for the STI, it's a hell of a lot more fun. The EVO for your every day driver who wants something rally like.

  • I know that the evo is great with handling and good performance (but what about durability.) There is just something about the sti that just brings out the beast in me. I believe that they are both great cars, it all depends on what you are looking for in a sports car (raw power or good handling) can anyone help me with this battle in my head? I will be grateful

  • They are both very good cars, both have strong engines that will take a beating, but the evo has a major flaw, being their tranny. With hard driving, the tranny won't last you very long. Performance, all it comes down is to driving skill, both are almost equal, like you said, depends on what ur looking for.

  • Thanks DrakeMR2 i will take that into consideration. I think i will go for the 2006 sti.

  • np, even though i think the evo looks a little better, i would still take the sti over it myself.

  • The gear box is only week on the six-speed MR, the fivespeed gear box is fine, i've driven STI's and i dirve an evo, my evo gets cleaner shifts than the STI, the only thing is i dont get to brag about having a 6-speed, which is fine.. i've also heard STI owners tell me their cars give them trouble, maybe due to the way they drive it, not sure.

  • @DrakeMR2 you're probably talking about the 6 speed Evo MR tranny, the 5 speed tranny is not as weak.

  • wow i wish i responded 4 months earlier, i picked the EVO 9 over the 2006 STI, the Five Speed, Not the MR, The evo 9 handles slightly better because of its Active center differential, where as the STI has full time symmetrical AWD. i ilke the evos looks better to, but if you plan to mod, i've been told by many people the evo is more mod friendly.

  • Thanks for the tips it was very informative.

  • thanks, good info
