In my opinion, it'll add more fun to the game because there's another evil presence in the air that you have to kill, and the sense of fear is almost unbearable, so you have more stress on your shoulders. In a game that's like this, it's actually a LOT more fun in my opinion.

@DebbyRyanAtVEVO It certainly sounds amazing, but think of it this way. The screamer would be safe on top a roof, hidden from Survivor's view, and he'd be able to summon a horde. Now, that sounds great if you're PLAYING as the Screamer, but it'd be tough to kill what you can't see if you're playing Survivor. Boomers are generally the same, however they must put themselves in danger in order to get their attack executed correctly.

if you read the left 4 dead wiki the screamer was cut because he was too hard too locate and kill before he screamed and summoned a horde. his scream was given to the hunter and part of the laugh to the jockey.

People, these were the actual screamer sounds, his laugh was given to the jockey because they had no use for it in l4d1. They gave his scream to the hunter because the hunter made no sound what so ever while attacking or while near survivors ...

What I mean is the grunting of being in a straight jacket, the cackling (which went into the jockey) let's you know he's close, If he sees you, he runs away and hides himself, then lets out loud screams (which went to the hunters) to alert other infected.. You would have to find and kill the screamer, or else the zombies would never stop coming, in endless hordes.

the screamer was never released in the l4d series.you all know about him.when u saw a screamer,you would have to kill him before he ran away and made loud screams calling the horde.Valve didn't like the idea.they needed another better special infected to call the horde.the horde also had to come for a reason.So they invented the BOOMER and replaced it with the screamer,and when the horde comes,they would have a reason for coming:they love boomer bile.THE END.

guys, its true, the sounds were transferred to the jockey, but that WAS the hunter screams at the end. VALVe never released the actual Screamer scream, but it was supposed to sound like a younger child screaming. REALLY high-pitched. It is a insane, so of course it sounds like the jockey.

@kingofspaded3515 Actually, no, in the developmental stages of L4D, the screamer was a way to attract the horde, fitted in a straightjacket, and whenever the screamer saw the infected, would ray away and let out a massive scream, attracting a horde of zombies, but it was scrapped, due to the complicated map layouts and the zombie's hit-slow mechanism, so it was scrapped, its horde attracting effect given to the boomer. And the scream given to the hunter to make it balanced.

Ok people. This was before there was even a Jockey. The Screamer had it's own laugh which you can see in the beginning of his laughter. Then it turned into which is now known as the Jockey's laugh. And when it was alerted it screamed like a Hunter. Got it, pretty simple (If you think enough). :)

@Legoman8558 Though, with the way the screamer acted, it'd get annoying FAST. If you've ever played The Passing in L4D2, the uncommon infected run away from you, and if they run through a horde, they're tough to catch up to. This is even worse, because if it gets away, a hordes gonna tear you up.
