I haven't really paid much attention to the Talmud in my life. It is a set of laws from 2500 years ago, which was surpassed by Roman law. I feel that laws from back then shouldn't be followed today, because 2500 years ago the world was full of savages and these sets of laws were to make people a little more civilized than they were back then.

I haven't really paid much attention to the Talmud in my life. It is a set of laws from 2500 years ago, which was surpassed by Roman law. I feel that laws from back then shouldn't be followed today, because 2500 years ago the world was full of savages and these sets of laws were to make people a little more civilized than they were back then.
I guess you could say it started with the Code of Hammurabi, and people advanced what they considered as "civilized".
