Q-Tip is a true legend in the hip hop game! Tribe Called Quest gave birth to the "conscious rap" movement! For those who don't know what conscious rap is, it's a lyrical flow of knowledge! It's the type of rap that gives words of wisdom to the people! Common, Talib Kweli, Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, Busta Rhymes, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Biggie, Tupac, KRS-ONE are all conscious rappers! They give words of wisdom and codes to live by and that's why it will be here FOREVER!
I disagree. Its NOT all Hip Hop. Back in the day u had hippy rap like: De La Soul, then hardcore like: NWA, then u had conscious rap like: KRS One/Public Enemy. We had a bunch of different categories. No one died in 80's Hip hop, no one sold drugs in 80's Hip Hop. It was all love back then B!
Uh rappers did die in the 80s and sell drugsm and were thugs and all that Scholly D, Ice T, and even early KRS one come to mind. The thing is hip hop wasn't expected to succeed by the major record labels but once they saw they could make some real money out of it, they saturated the game and made the playing field unbalanced. What was once a a genre of music with different strands is now only known for a gangster image made by white record executives.

I was wondering what the track was he was doing live on this video.
I found out it's Feva and it's from "The Renaissance" although it's a bonus track which only appears on some versions.

there is no fake hip hop and real hip hop just because you don't like it. what you'r doing is called being a hip hop elitist.

truth it's all Hip Hop.
but there's fake music. music is art, when you treat it like a product you're a fake to the form.
