This investigation had been going on as early as 2005, frankly many were aware of Blago's corruption but it took a sale of BO's seat for the people to say "enough is enough." To be honest the connection between his arrest and BOA is sketchy at best considering the fact that three days later BOA gave the loans for the Republic workers to get their pay.
